Nice work. Last time i was there was in December 2019. It looks beautiful. So i find it strange when politicians in Zambia say "nothing has improved under ECL". this is improvement. I have used the pontoon for years and cannot wait to drive across for a change. Great work ECL and Masisi. Proud of you leaders
@@MatimbaKanenga Give credit where it is due. By the way, I am not a card carrying member of any political party. So i can speak my mind freely. In this regard, ECL has done well. I always tell UPND supporters, to beat PF and ECL, beat them at their own game but do it better. Use the Constituency Development Fund that is available and improve your constituencies, but do it better than PF and people will give you a chance. The beauty of this strategy is that it is the people that win in the end. The Politician will think he is impressing the electorate but he is actually improving people's lives and giving people a better place to live in. What i am not impressed with is the Bridge at Mass Media (ZNBC). It is a mess. The one who built that must refund the money
I was last at Kazungula in 2004. I was delighted to be back there. I’d been there many times while I worked in Botswana in the mid nineties. Hopefully, the bridge will help boost trade in the wider area. That said, I’ll miss the ferries. The Zambezi river- one of the most beautiful anywhere- will still be as she was. I trust that those living on her shores will share in the benefits accruing from this marvellous architectural feat delivered by the governments of Zambia and Botswana.
Its really nice around here ey? Those cable things better be holding. *Paranoid me. Yes bridging is here. But I feel there will still be people who want to use pontoons
Used this pontoon crossing 6 times a year when I was at school in the early seventies for 5 years...scary at first but it became great fun....you know the schoolboy fun....miss it..the beautiful bridge changing all that....
Nice to see progress with the bridge. Here in the UK we have a very different construction methods with suspension bridges, no temporary road way or platform. Hope they will make a nice road on the Zambia side. Hopefully goodbye to queuing.
Bridge looks nice, I was last there 2 years ago when we went for a day trip in the Chobe National Park from Livingstone. I hope this will be the end of all those nasty queues
It seems queues are a staple of every border crossing. There's always customs and ZRA and all the logistics which have to be done before a truck passes. So it may just be reduced, but not end.
@@theKhumbaguy Yeah I guess so, it would then be better if say SADC or COMESA had some sort of instruments that could at least make these border crossings easier for their member states
Very excited about this bridge because Zambia and Botswana are home for me. Most importantly this bridge will open more business opportunities into greater Africa and down south! The pantoons were hell I can confirm!
It will actually be the 10th Longest bridge in Africa. At the moment, number 10 is the bridge to Namibia which is just 900m long. This Kazungula Bridge is 930m long
If it gets any bigger, go, mine turned nasty and it was just caught in time!! It was either from the sun coming in the car window or years of living in Africa, I was lucky, just concerned that's all x

The construction of the job was a good job.
Its great to see such great progress in our African soil.

Nice work Khumbulani
Thanks TC.
Khumba guy what's the lifespan of that bridge?
The Vic Falls Bridge is over 100 years now, so I'm sure this will last for many years.
Great video. You did what journalists (assuming you are not one) fail to do on most projects.
Thanks alot. That's encouraging.
Lol. No, I'm not a journalist.
Very beautiful a nice to visit corona please go away the placw i want to visit
It is a very nice place.
Very excited about this bridge because Zambia and Botswana are home for me. Most importantly this bridge will open more business opportunities into greater Africa and down south! The pantoons were hell I can confirm!

You are welcome to Zambia.
kazungula bridge is going to facilitate the expansion of agriculture, in the area.
Yeah, it is hope there will be a lot of development as a result of the bridge.
This is one very interesting bridge project. Expect some questions from me coming up about this one.
Lol. Sure.
It will actually be the 10th Longest bridge in Africa. At the moment, number 10 is the bridge to Namibia which is just 900m long. This Kazungula Bridge is 930m long
Is it open yet?
Not yet.
Absolutely magnificent! Proudly African! I just hope China was not involved ..... ?
Daewoo is a Korean company so that's a good thing.
The Chinese though were involved in one of the border facilities.
Good news for Zambia Bad news for Zim
Yeah.
So sad... Corruption.
Fabulous bridge, is that a mole on your neck, if so keep an eye on it!!!
Thanks for the concern. I do need to have it checked one day.
If it gets any bigger, go, mine turned nasty and it was just caught in time!! It was either from the sun coming in the car window or years of living in Africa, I was lucky, just concerned that's all x
