    Great video, really interesting to hear about the planning side of a game. Lovely armies as well.

    My G G Grandfather fought at Fox Gap in 1862. He was in the 100th Pennsylvania The Roundhead Regiment. They got up to the top of the gap near where the Reno monument stands today.

    Excellent video! It’s funny to hear F&F described as a crunchy game considering when it was written, it was THE fast play set of historical rules.

      I know😂 I guess times change and the older I get, the simpler rules need to be! I really do still like F&F though.
      Thanks for watching😁👍

    Great start, looking forward to the other videos for this battle. We toured the battles in the area including this one and Antietam last year, well worth a visit.

      The models we went with ( after much debate) were 10mm pendraken. Cost effective and look great enmass. Give me s shout if you want a game, I’m only an hour or so up the road from deepest darkest Barnsley 😂

    More great looking armies. Love to see a battle report- had the brigade level rules for a while, but never used them in anger.

      I will attempt to do a battle report. If we are ever allowed out to have games again....

    Great video, well thought out ideas. Keeping it simple and helpful with the army rosters is another great touch. Also the blinds and even the vape box and dice boxes. excellent. Are they 10mm? I've never played that rule set or that scale but it makes me want to join in. Great job mate

    Thanks for going through the details of your game set up. I think you are hitting on something important for participation games - newcomers need more than just being told to roll dice when it's their turn to go. Having aids like these should make the sense of command more tangible and much easier to understand the rules of the game. Nice models too!

      Thanks, its all about being immersed in the game, for me the story and the enjoyment of playing a nice game are the things that hooked me into the hobby as a young un. Cheers!

    Great job putting all this together. Are you going to do a solo run through to see how it plays? I've put on a couple of demo/participation games and found keeping it simple is a good place to start. In the rule set you are using are there things you could skip?

      Its fairly straightforward i think, and having me as a GM? Would certainly help.

    Nice work, what base size are you using? Just ordered a Confederate force.

    • @stigofthedump181
      @stigofthedump181  4 роки тому

      Base sizes are
      25mm x 20mm infantry
      25mm x 25mm cavalry
      25mm x 30mm artillery
      30mm circles for commanders .
      Nice one, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do😁

  • @danbuman8422

    I wondered if you could tell me what you used for bases in terms of dimensions and material. Looking to try some 10mm and trying to decide what to use for bases. Thanks!

    • @stigofthedump181
      @stigofthedump181  3 роки тому

      Hi Dan, the bases are MDF, 2mm thick,
      25mm x 20mm for the infantry,
      25mm x 25mm for the cavalry,
      25mm x 30mm for the artillery.
      I hope that helps,
      Stig
