Tool isn't one of those bands that release songs that are instant gratification and all about the hook. Tool is more about the layers and definitely more of an acquired taste. So you don't like them, fine . But coming to a page concerning a band that you don't like and then commenting negatively on the OP @A.V.F's post, and how he/we feel that tool is more interesting that shred, accomplishes nothing more than pointing out the fact that you obviously have nothing better to do. So go listen to Paramore, and Ariana Grande since you like them enough to include them in your favorites playlist. You will not find us there hating them in the comments, we have better things to do.

In 7empest, the low note in the intros pattern chimes in the EXACT same pattern as the djenty chugging/gallop/pull thru section. the entire theme of the song is 100% designed around that one pattern. If you remove all notes outside the very lowest ones you'll see what im talking about, they're the only notes that openly ring out in the opening riff. (These notes also = 7) I don't know if anybody has figured that out yet, but mr music is win, i'd be willing to prove it to you. Also there's a fucked up skip at the end of the intro segment that causes the chimes danny is playing to unsync for around 2 bars at around the 1:03 mark then resync on the last bar. Also invincible is counted 1 and 2 -3 and 4 and. Or just 7. Because everything is 7. The pull thru chugging segment in invincible is also 7. With the pull thru technique and 2 chugs, then pull thru and three chugs is 7. They weren't kidding when countless riffs on this album can be broken down into 7.

some random guy How about you go more into depth about how Adam plays and less of the note choice? Rhythms? Nuances? It’s not just “hurrdurr D-E-F” all the time. There’s plenty to be learned from Adam Jones’ playing, just sayin’

@some random guy I see others arguing with you. But you're basically right. Not much going on with Adam's guitar playing. All old ideas slightly tweeked. Zzz zzz zzzzz

Do more of this and yes incredible incredible album. It doesn't flow like 10,000 Days or Lateralus did, but it's still incredible and every piece on this album feels unique.

Yeah, exactly. It's amazing, different, but still amazing. Sometimes people need to understand different doesn't always mean bad or worse.

    Hey tyler.
This was a fun sit through.
I enjoy your personality through your videos.
Its nice to see what other fans think and this reminds me of myself.
I would sit through every tool album and learn the guitar with a fine tooth comb.
    I enjoyed this video.
The album makes me lose where i am physically and takes me through an inward journey.
Maybe ill dissect it later but for now its like a hand attached to a smile wants to take me for a walk and remind me off the colors that exist.
    Happy riffing my man

For now they seem happy to just tour playing pre-Belew material. There's the Jakszyk/Fripp/Collins album A Scarcity of Miracles from 2011 that is almost Crim, though.

The first time i heard i didn't think it was bad at all but i was not fully convinced, i maybe compared it to much to all the classic songs but those songs are also spread over multiple albums so..., but everytime i go through the album again i keep finding it better and more interesting and everytime it is a new experience and that is crazy difficult to do as an artist so at this point i really think the songs are great and will be part of the 'classic tool songs' in a few years

It took me over a year to finally sit down and truly listen to this album. For me that means learning and playing the guitar, drums, bass, and vocals to the best of my limited ability and recording tracks on the garage band app. I’m part way through pneuma and invincible. I’ll be dead if I ever make it through 7empest haha.

For a Tool fan it sure took him long enough to realise Jones is in drop D. I would've assumed that and had it dropped from the start tbh, especially since Fear Inoculum is obvs in D also. Strange.
