Regarding water woes, I've pleasantly surprised myself on my Apocalypse playthrough with just how good a thick array of raincatchers can be. I'm pushing into year 300, and to be frank, my desalination plant is tiny and forgotten and not even hooked up because 36 raincatchers supplemented with four groundwater pumps is surprisingly good at keeping 1000 people and attendant industry hydrated. It's a lot of space, to be sure, but space is something I have plenty of. I've also learned just how lean I can run my petrochem if I'm not being an idiot about expanding it for no reason. I might replace it with the JD all-in-one petrochem complex in the future if I don't feel like working things out for myself, but for now I'm barely sipping on oil and water.
Yep I also have a Armageddon playthru ua-cam.com/play/PLnIE0W-m629e-KRlzPHVzHCGIiwcQao83.html and Water is EASY there due to rain catchers and you can tap into a few water wells easily with some long pipes. Its completely Different on YouShallNotPass
when I played this map, knowing that getting up to the plateaus was going to be a big job, I had a small crew digging up from the beginning and added to the crew as I grew. I can see you running out of room if you don't start working on accessing the rest of the map.
Yep I am running out of space but the new map is VERY different to the old map, where one dig could get you to the whole top area! Also you could zig zag up the edge and save a LOT of digging on the new map thats less of a option!
it would take another long pipe from power, but could you not have a water pipe from wood "storage" to the town and farms to take some of the stress off the pumps?
That takes water away from the power plant. In YSNP Rain is an option that does tend to go away after some time. What you end up doing in YSNP is pulling water from the sea as your main water for the colony and farms and the ground water is running your power plant. I still have rain as being the main collector for my concrete plant as its only consumer is the factory making construction parts. The concrete plant also has all the recipes enabled as, slag, stone and sand are plentiful for gravel.

Yes, but you will have to wait for next episode for me to get the time to add that pipe lol
Another problem free episode. GG
JD, I think you need another 2 speed buttons for the gamespeed. It feels like you are playing on 0.5x 😁
This episode and most for YSNP Its been a mix of Speed 2 and 3, eventually we will break into perma Speed 3
What if you reverse the pipe from the coal plant back to the ground pump or run a pipe back to the ground pumps instead of the ground water
