Even though I am a Sri Lankan Tamil. I am very proud to see the Sengol in your Parliament. This is the biggest recognition for a Tamil culture.
I am a tamil literature graduate and History student from shankar IAS academy chennai. Half truth is more dangerous than murders. You are murdering facts and providing half baked information. Sengol(Sceptre) is a ruler's authority. It means transfer of power and good governance. Its not only tamil culture. Please watch Troy movie opening war scene end. Once the war end the Sceptre will be transferred. May be you have hidden agenda propagation by saying half truth. First please pronounce word Histo(r)y, Neh(r)u properly!!!!! 😂 Those days in Indian Religious leaders not allowed to travel in Private jets Lie number 1. “கோல்” (kol) is not just a stick or a wand. The actual meaning is “ it is a tool used to measure” something. Like how you say “அளவு கோல்” in Tamil for a ruler. Like that this tool is used to measure the “just” nature of the administration under the ruler. So it’s no wonder why the ruler got bent in “Silapadhigaram” story. When justice is bent then the kol shows this state of justice.
Also Nandi represents “aram”. It is said that, only in the path of Aram can we reach God. That’s why they keep Nandi in front on Shiva. Standing behind Nandi, you can see Shiva straight. So it’s rightful that it is placed on the sengol. All religion aside, we do need aram in our administration right. ..
It is very surprising to know about sengol.

In simple words in Sanskrit it's called as "RajDand" which always remains above the king, its symbol of Raj Dharma and always denotes that kingdom rules are always have 1st priority in any case and applies to everybody including king to retain justice. King supposed to follow Raj Dharma in any case even if he need to cost his life. What is Raj Dharma?
Rule the kingdom honestly, ensure people's well being, ensure kingdom is safe from inside and outside attackers, fight for country and its people and when time comes he may need to sacrifice his life for country

@keerthi history i have one question mam, i was happy with this sengol in the parliament and I'm still but I recently found that president wasn't invited because she belonged to scheduled caste why was this so?
Why such discrimination i mean she is in a renowned position, this things shouldn't matter when dealing with parliament stuffs. I just wanted a validated reason and your views..

Very well said, sengol is a symbol of honesty, impartiality and is above the king!! I hope the sengol in the parliament doesn’t get bent. The athletes are crying, farmers were prevented from entering Delhi, woman who set out to support the woman wrestlers were prevented from entering Delhi!! Kannagi was a woman, so are the woman wrestlers who brought pride to the country. Hope nothing disastrous happens to the present government. Just keeping a symbol as pious and precious as sengol is not important, one has the responsibility to conduct to maintain it’s piety, it’s not a show piece, there is lot of power and responsibility attached to it, hope Mr PM knows about it or face the repercussions if things backfire. 🙏🙏🙏

Nandi is a bull. Bull represents dharma. There are about 10 names in Vishnu sahasranama as vrishah, vrushakarmaa, etc. where in all the names vrusha meaning bull represents dharma.
