    I altered my EBJ builds to run AMS. A lot of the builds for clan omnis seem to sacrifice AMS.

    This mech performance is relying on ER large lasers and high mounted ac2's
    In DPS it's rather low but it has range. It plays like any sniper mech. It has no jumpjets to support back jump and rely on position. The arms are low mounted as expected, It's able to fire at dead center, left or right. This means that this mech don't need to use the arms or walk to a position and instead is able to redirect the firing pattern to one side of the mech or in the center. In this regard it's a flexible laser sniper since it only need to expose one side of the mech. The XL engine is crippling the mech because of game mechanics making a lost side torso any laser mech redundant. It has mediocre speed for a heavy. It maybe not a brawler but it can take a beating from long distance. The higher mounted guns aren't helping since the iron sight won't allow you to see what the guns are able to hit, this is where a rotary ac would fit to make buckets shots or suppressing fire or ac2's for the same purpose. In laser vomit it's unable to compete and is better used as an artillery platform. The turret arms reveal that it wasn't meant to be in close combat.

      i am sorry, but although half of this analysis is ok, the other half doesn't have any basis in the game
      1) the speed is very fast for an heavy
      2) it's among the best laser vomits
      3) ERLL+ac2 is a terrible combo in general, and specifically on this mech
      4) the xl makes it good, doesn't cripple it, with STD it would be either too slow, or not enough tonnage for guns

      Wasn't you ranting about how XL engine is over rated on clan because you die by overheating when a laser vomit is shooting its weapons, because my argument is based upon yourself.
      The engine speed does nothing to the ebon jaguar because timberwolf has the same stat at higher tonnage and the madcat2 is a clan assault. It's by my experience too slow to keep up with faster mechs since it has bad turning speed by being wide. It's best at supporting fire while in the middle of a brawl and that can be at any range and it will need as much heat and support equipment that the argument is: do I go close or long range because it can do both.

    • @JGxDATA

      @@robertagren9360 i am sorry but i think you may have misunderstood some concepts...the turn rate depends on a number inserted into the game, not by how wide the mech is, it's a game, not real world physics....if it has 60 turn rate and other las vom have 60 too, the turn rate is the same. Also, i said clan xl is overrated as meaning it is not overpowered, but i did't mean that mechs would be better with STD engine.
      Also, efficient mk ii build don't get past 64 kph, while the ebon goes 81, which is faster than the vast majority of the heavy mechs.....it's actually among the fastest heavies in the game

    • @JGxDATA
      @JGxDATA  2 роки тому

      you are right though when you say that the mech is not really a brawler

      If the gun is at each left and right hand, how much extra does the mech need to turn to make all guns pointing in the right direction.
      When creating a build you can avoid having higher up mounted guns to prevent snipers shoot from an angle above.
      While the guns would have an open field you can't see where the guns are pointing at. The higher mounted guns are based on a tabletop vegetation where the guns are shooting from a level above.
      This is why I solved the turning by making each laser in position of left and right. This way the ebon jaguar never need to turn to shoot at a mech since it has a combo of two center lasers, left and right lasers.
      Think of it as a boat and even if I can turn around this laser boat it still need to have all guns on the broadside pointing at the target and if I need to turn around to shoot at the mech, I have longer time to do this than for a smaller mech to run to a flanking position.
      If turning based on model wasn't a thing, the huntsman should been wide as much it's possible if it wasn't a disadvantage. Being wide would be an advantage since your guns have a wider angle to fire their guns, It's about the mech itself and how the targeting of mechs is handled. The targeting goes to the center and battletech had multi-targeting, which exists in some extend if one gun is mounted in the torso or center. If another gun is put on an arm they can fire at two targets at once. It's impractical because of humans are only able to do one task while able to think about multiple tasks at once.
      This is why you recommend to have all guns on one side of the mech including the center torso to solve the problem with turning wide mechs. But the ebon Jaguar doesn't need it because it has 1 laser in center and 1 laser in the arm on both sides able to shift to center shots, right shots and left shots and this is possible thanks to clan mechs being restricted to 2 er large lasers to prevent ghost heating.
      If it was an Inner sphere mech it wouldn't had this advantage because they have 3 HSL which provide less sync with the lasers and instead the mech is firing all guns at once.
      This means that no matter if the mech goes right or left, It won't matter because I have as many guns on both sides. For a mech with all guns on one side, they'll have to point all the guns toward the target by making a turn.
      I wouldn't say that an ebon jaguar is better at close range with long range weapons. Equally is true for short range weapons at long range. For most part the Nova is the best of all elements having the ability to carry an ER laser as a long range support while dealing staggering damage at close range and jumpjets. I think that while you prefer the close range meta because mechs are too fast to make it an advantage.
      That was what I realized when I build a mech with 60kph and streak srm that "Engine" on mechs who aren't designed to go fast is irrelevant for the meta.

      That charge mechanic was introduced to break exactly this kind of min maxing to get around ghost heat. About 2012. It got really really bad when both weapons had the same velocity as well. So why don't we petition to make laser pin point front loaded the way they were in Mech Warrior 2?

      @@axelkolle9994 because charge up mechanics and firing delays are lazy trash solutions, with cockpit shake they loose accuracy for any other weapon so fire has to be staggered.

    NANIII?!? How come my build of six ERML's, two LPL's and a HLL hasn't made this list??? SERIOUSLY offended now!.... ; )
    Lovely mech the Ebon Jag. Wish I would remember to play it more often, but I'd have to remember to make new builds for myself to keep it interesting... Which this video might help with.
    And no, the build is not mine, but rather it's copied from another youtubers succesful use of it. Toasty, lovely 80+ "alpha" volley. l)

      That you are, but I think I might have miscommunicated here a bit.. If I recall correctly, I saw the 2 LPL, 6 ERML and 1 HLL Ebon Jaguar build for the first time from Yondude's channel where he posts a lot of faction play videos. Of course this doesn't mean the build is originally from him, but that's the place where I copied it from. : )
      Just like I shall probably copy some of these... like the three UAC 5 one. ^^

    • @JGxDATA
      @JGxDATA  2 роки тому +1

      what i really meant is, don't trust a youtuber just because he is tier 1, 90% of tier 1 still have no idea of how the game goes.....for example, adding that extra HLL makes the mech worse without any doubt.

    • @Anarchistbanana
      @Anarchistbanana 2 роки тому +1

      Point taken and I'm not claiming that the extra HLL build is the best build... Rather, it's something I've had both fun and success with and because of this now I'm making a joke about it. : )
      But yeah.. I'm "Tier 1", but it doesn't mean that much. I'm derping a lot, I don't even play every week,some mechs I will never learn to play properly and there's a bunch of stuff I don't know jack about.. but that's the reason I like following both your and so many other MWO players channels. It's my semi-autistic joy to look at and compare both serious and just-for-fun builds. You seem to do your best on making serious and competitive builds and if so, it's a valuable counter point to so many channels that do differently.

    I noticed something strange with the heat management. The two LPulses bring the mech to 18%, the six er-meds to 39%. Now I would expect the Alphastrike to get the heat up to 57%. In fact, it is 65%. Is this a hidden Ghostheat effect?

    • @Anarchistbanana
      @Anarchistbanana 2 роки тому

      I'd guess it's because the heat from lasers doesn't instantly jump up, but rather builds up while you fire them AND your heatsinks keep dissipating this heat while you do this.. So you can't easily see the maximum percentual amount of heat your laser weapons cause while playing, which is higher than actually shown, because you can't turn of this constant heat dissipation.

    • @nawerschon5777
      @nawerschon5777 2 роки тому

      But isn't a 13% discrepancy a bit much?

    • @Anarchistbanana
      @Anarchistbanana 2 роки тому

      @@nawerschon5777 I don't know. I'd assume that the difference between the alpha and firing those lasers separately is not necessarily that much.
      But I went and tested the 6 ERML and 2 LPL build with full operations tree and all the heat nodes. I ended up getting different results depending on the maps that I played on. 65% heat with Alpha, 18% with LPL's and 39% with ERML's on Caustic Valley. 64% heat with Alpha, 17% with LPL's and 38% on Frozen City. Terra Therma was the same as Caustic, except that the Alpha climbed up to 66%... So at least the coldest and hottest maps won't increase this difference that much, it seems. (Based on my 10 minute testing at least...) : )
