At 75, i believe this was the most heart-rending piece of music ever to be penned. Masterful music. I defy ANYBODY to bring forth anything better. It's a bloody classic masterpiece.
This is a beautiful song, the music that came from late 60's, 70's, 80's will never be duplicated . It was the best years of great music, fans will be listening to these great songs forever.
Sadly wasn't born till the 70's but blessed with parents who were crazy about music so my sister and I grew up with a very eclectic music taste, love the 60's especially motown
I grew up in the 60's yet never appreciated the music until I was in my 60's. Too busy playing baseball, pool, and the horses. Now whenever I go to sleep I ask Amazon Alexa to play 60's music!!
I can't sleep. I first heard this when I was 16. I'm 60 now. It's been a good life. A world apart from songs like Anaconda. This is not music, it's an experience.
Yeah I remember discovering it as a teen in the early 90s and I really had no idea at the time of what time period it was from. It sounded like it was imported from another world. Timeless.
The comments in here are some of the most beautiful I've ever read. It's incredible the emotions that music invokes, and the memories that we tie to it.
@captainaudi Damn I was just telling someone how I never realized how much I like the moody blues, referencing those 2 songs. I just noticed you previously mentioned Tuesday afternoon. 90s music is the best btw💯🤗
I was born in 1960 and my Mothers youngest brother was only 8 years older than me! HaHa!! We were really close! More like brothers. I grew up with the most awesome music at a really early age!
My mother loved moody blues. March 18th 2022 she passed in my arms to this song. We had just listened to "wildest dreams." R.I.P. mama. You will forever be my everything. I am so honored& blessed to be raised by a woman like her!!! 😘😘

Comments under every good old music video on youtube: who's listening in 2065, I'm 90 years old listening to this since 78 years and my whole family died and all I have left is this song.
You nailed it 100% 😂 im so tired of seeing all that hackneyed crap every time I listen to a song over 30 years old. I started mocking them but then felt bad 😂 they are obviously lonely folks who need attention .
This is absolutely my most cherished song. It makes me cry every time I listen to it, which is really often. I am 73 so I have listened to a lot of songs. It is one of the best.
69. Now it's Oct. 2021. I am with you. When I listen, I am some place removed from time and space. I and my 16 year-old-self are one. The song gets better each year that goes by.
I’m 28 and reading the comments while listening to this song has given me an early midlife crisis, reading how all of the elders listened to this in their teens and reminiscing. The thought of remembering being young and recognizing the end is near just has no words to explain it. coming to peace with yourself and life as a whole, just realizing that this world is not our world, that we are all just passing through. All I can say is respect, to all of you out there with this type of thing crossing your minds on a daily basis. Thank you all for just being here in this world and sharing your part of life. Godspeed
Same, 28, and I never got into “dubstep” like everyone else, but when I heard this song remixed I instantly loved it bc of the lyrics. The original song is so much better. Definitely tearing up reading some one these comments. I 1000% agree. What a time to have experienced.
That golden generation and I was a part of it , we thought we could change the world for the better with our music and the way thought but we failed so sad
@@robertlangley1664 you didn't fail, the song reached out to the younger generation as the meaning of it.. Brings peace and love in the heart of the younger generation and that's a win for me. Bye
I remember when I was 20 listening to this song in my car and I decided to pull over because I was so mesmerized by the beauty and depth of the lyrics and the music. A few years later I finally saw them in concert and it was just as magical.
I'm 43 and first heard this as a 15 year on a camping trip in a remote area, trying my best to get a radio station on my radio while I was out stargazing. The song has haunted me ever since! One of the greats that will forever endure just like true love ❤
Marian, you were only 20 years old when you left us in 89, now, nearly 30 years later, I still think of you when I hear this, I know you're in Heaven sweetie, rest, and fly with the angels,❤
How true this is , I graduated in 1976 and was one of the best songs ever . Seems like just yesterday hearing for the first time . A wonderful classic . Thank you .
I just shared this with my husband. Back in the early 70’s, my high school friends and I would sit and listen to one of their big brother’s albums for hours on end. I have a very vivid memory of listening to this song & wondering if I would ever feel the deep love & desire this gorgeous song implies. Suddenly here I am, 65 yrs old, and I realized that yes…it took some time but I found THAT love! Trust me; don’t settle until you find it too!

My dad just passed away and I made sure to play this for him. He emanated love and wisdom and this will always give me fond memories of him. RIP Daddy, oohhh how I love you 💕.
Never in a million years will a song like this be written again. Imagine singing the words..I love you..and creating an such eruption of emotion. What a song.
If you got a chance to see him in concert the music of the 60s and 70s and the 80s you shouldn't have any problems Jesus and God are backing us all❤❤.❤❤
My parents were born in the 40's. My dad passed away in 1986, I don't think my mum has long to go. I'll be devastated but happy that they'll be back together. I'm envious that they grew up when they did.
This music transports me back to a time when days were brighter, weather was warmer, skies were bluer, air was sweeter, people were friendlier, the pace wasn't hectic, food tasted better, families were closer and overall quality of life for everyone was richer and more rewarding...we really need to return to try & return to those days, folks...oh and thanks for this great song
I heard this song when I was 13 and had puppy love for a girl classmate who did not return my affection. Bittersweet memories from 1977. Today is my 22nd wedding anniversary to my wife! I found someone who loves me back!
I met these brilliant boys in 1968 (as 13 years old teenager) - singing this divine song on the Charles Bridge in Prague, Czechoslovakia. I have been loving this song for more than 50 years.
In August 1968 I was a tank driver in the Soviet army, on the day of the concert on August 20 near the border of Hungary and Czechoslovakia, I listened to this song in the forest on a tank radio station, and a few hours later at night we crossed the border, I was 20 years old.
@@alekspolevoi9019 Interesting. I lived in Prague in August 1968, as stated before. The invasion of the Soviet and other Warsaw Pact armies to Czechoslovakia was really shocking and emotional event for me - we were taught to an infinite love to the U.S.S.R. at school all the time before. And suddenly such a rough blow to our children´s souls. The whole generation immediately lost that love and refused the Czechoslovak-Soviet brotherhood. I stopped immediately my correspondence and friendship with a young girl (pioneer of course) from the village Kresty in Pskov region, started to learn English (privately of course) and got the new pen-friend in April 1969, this time from England (Newcastle). I do not hate Russians nevertheless.
@@bokasanjoAlthough I was young, I perfectly understood that a crime was happening, no one met us with flowers, only people's hatred for us, but you can do nothing, if you do not obey the order, you will face severe punishment. This song reminds me of something in which I happened to take part 50 years ago. All the best, take care of yourself.

Truth
Every song and artist was different.todays music is all the same

Yeah, the music, and that cheap tab of "Window-Pane Sunshine"
The music I make is meant to transport listeners on a voyage like this song. I wish more songs like this were made this day and age
No mate that was the Acid!!! But this made it better...
55 years after the song was published and it continues to sound majestic.

How true this is , I graduated in 1976 and was one of the best songs ever . Seems like just yesterday hearing for the first time . A wonderful classic . Thank you .
I'm 70 years old now and this song still overwhelms me with emotion. I always get goosebumps and will always remember the joys of playing the album over and over and over and over..... It was one of the first exposures to orchestral music for me back then. "Band member Justin Hayward wrote and composed the song at age 19 while touring in Belgium and titled the song after a girlfriend gave him a gift of satin bedsheets. The song itself was a tale of a yearning love from afar, which leads many aficionados to term it as a tale of unrequited love endured by Hayward."
Lyrics
Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore
'Cause I love you
Yes I love you
Oh, how I love you
Gazing at people
Some hand in hand
Just what I'm going through
They can't understand
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end
And I love you
Yes I love you
Oh, how I love you
Oh, how I love you
Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore
Yes I love you
Oh, how I love you
Oh, how I love you
Yes I love you
Yes I love you
Oh, how I love you
Oh, how I love you
Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bed sitter people look back and lament
Another days useless energy spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is gray and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

I heard this song when I was 13 and had puppy love for a girl classmate who did not return my affection. Bittersweet memories from 1977. Today is my 22nd wedding anniversary to my wife! I found someone who loves me back!
I am 83 love it
I met these brilliant boys in 1968 (as 13 years old teenager) - singing this divine song on the Charles Bridge in Prague, Czechoslovakia. I have been loving this song for more than 50 years.
Roman Kirsch i had 18 19 years old I had a teen ager
