New climber here.....i was literally struggling with my descents and this video popped up in the middle of a week-long job and changed the game for me! Thanks, Billy!

Hey buckin I noticed in the comments people are concerned about you cutting next to your buck strap I’ve been cutting close to mine for over 22 years it’s fine as long as your thoughtful about it and it’s a steel core lanyard your using awesome videos
I learned this stuff in Angel Job Corps in Yachats Or in 1996-1997. In forestry class with a guy named Rod Smith I think it was. I didn't stick with though and got a job in a warehouse instead. I wish I had done more though. Tree climbers/ Faller make a lot of money. It's nice to watch, though😊👍
Buckin you are a awesome man love watching you and your personality by the way you do the best tree guy I have seen in a long time I am just a beginner but I am improving every time I climb.
You’re a beast, you’re wonderful, the best drummer I ever heard, hell of a man, how’s that, lots of love 🤣. I bought the same saw from rip-saw, it’s a beast, love it.
Do you ever get nervous limbing so close to your prussic? As someone who doesn’t love heights, it gives me heart palpitations cutting so close to the only keeping ya in the tree and alive.😅 Always love the sawing content and you’ve got me intrigued with that little Echo 2511.
That may be true - I had to replace the high circuit plug in my Echo cs-590 with a plug without a hole. The hole allows fuel through, so, no matter what, you can't lean it out too much. If you think of it, I'd be interested to know if Ripsaw can comment. Other viewers may be interested, also. Thanks for the reply.@@BuckinBillyRaySmith
Hi Buckin. Have you ever tried battery saws for limbing ? I don’t climb, but thinking one might be handy for the smaller stuff I deal with round the cottage in Quebec. Enjoying your channel, keep up the good work friend! Donald.
I'm an electric guy, but i would prefer a ported Lil saw like Buckin has up in that tree. However the corded electric saws that I've used were better than the battery saws because the batteries themselves are heavy. Climbing small trees for fun and exercise is good, with no gear. I always have a hand pruner for suckers and twigs.
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Ended up getting one. Not really impressed. I will keep it as it does get into spots my other saws don’t. I have a stihl 462 , and 250, couple of corded electric 16 inch chains, Poulin wild thing which is atrocious, and a couple of corded circular saws that I use for firewood. For 65 $ on Amazon it’s not bad. Two chains, two batteries, accessories…. 36 volts, it cuts softwood pallets reasonably well, but my circular saws are quicker. Few years ago I did a research project looking at chainsaws. Battery vs corded vs gas. Results were, battery were probably okay for home short term use. Corded were limited in power by the 15 amp circuit, but probably good for home use. Gas would be good for better power and remote use. Will try to download video of the first cuts with this new battery electric. For domestic home use, battery or corded electric are probably better for the environment, although there will be a time penalty as they are slower, less powerful… Keep up the good work! Donald
Did you or are you working on a muffler mod on the 2511t I like the lp non safety full house 14 inch on that saw but it needs to be Hopperized yet. You can barely feel that saw climbing around love it. On palms its great for now but on sprawling hardwoods like Live Oak and the invasive Australian pines it needs more. Or should i say i want more. I haven't been in a Hemlock in almost 20 years now since I came to Florida.
Also buckin, are you able to help people out with tree work in the states? Like low states, South Carolina to be exact. I have a.. Problem on my hands.
Hi Billy from Oamaru Sth island New Zealand. May i ask you to show your climbing gear please?. Im thinking of making some up. I have a little Maruyama saw. Really fun to use.
Hey Bill just wanted to say Thank you buddie. Haha that’s totally nuts you taking a ride with the top. I think I would’ve chopped my climb line with my saw an stayed on my lanyard. I’ve heard of people doing this an have almost done it myself thanks for sharing that insane story.
Hearing a story like that from the person who experienced the details makes ya think, focus is more important than speed, more important than lunch time, more important than camera angles, more important than phone calls... absolute focus when climbing and cutting is truly the only way to survive unscathed. tried that last week here in belgium, climbed 50 feet up a mapple tree and realised it was not for me, that's one heck of a job, i'll keep watching your vids anyway, you've got such a great energy
I have the stihl 194t and its a little ripper. I use 3/8 semi chisel on it but im not game enough to drop the rakers too low on this saw. On my Husky 585 i dont mind a hungry chain though. I use full chisel on that saw. Enjoy your day.
Hey Billy, I’ve been catching up with you on your channel recently and loving the videos & content as always. It’s been great, you still make me smile as well as inspire me. Even after watching so many of your videos & live streams, I can still enjoy watching you at work and learn from your knowledge, wisdom & experience. I’m still messing with my 026’s here 😀, but considering trying out a 372. Great to see that you did well with the axes. I knew that the ‘wood bullet’ would go down a storm. Well I’ll crack on and enjoy this video while it’s fresh. You really are an inspiration. Be Good, Work Hard and Be kind. Love Wins ✊🏼
It looks like you are so close to cutting your line.. Are you not as close to it as it looks are you just comfortable cutting that close? We have been cutting trees for wood at our remote cabin since i was a kid but it is always my father (now late 70s) falling them and me and siblings/friends loading them in the sleighs and pulling them back to the cabin by snowmobile. I saw some of you videos and went down the rabbit hole. I bought a non working poulan 42cc 18inch and took a few days to figure out all the issues.. then saw 3 18-20 inch saws for 90$ and grabbed them and cleaned the carbs, adjustef the jets and replaced the diaphragms in one but got them working and tuned to 4 stroke when not under load. .. . Now i have 4 saws without really needing any as there are several at the cabin but these are mine, not someone elses :D I LOVED your chain sharpening videos so i went out and bought a file set at princess auto sale and tried it out.. so much fun and its relaxing.. Best of all it got me out of my office chair and out into the garage working on and fixing saws..I'm working on a neighbours late 80s/early 90s poulan and got it running. I will be out at the cabin this weekend to cut it over to winter mode and to try out a couple of the saws i got.. Probally 50cc poulan and a troybilt that is 2 years old.. I know they aren't a good quality saws but tinkering is half the fun and they were only 30$ each. I will pick up a husky or a sthil or echo if a non working one comes up to play with. Thanks again for all the videos and going into detail about what you are doing, why you are doing and what happens if you dont. I had not idea a hinge was required :D
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Indeed i did.. I was in the forest cutting up some dead fall so the kids could haul it to the bonfire pile so we can burn it in Mid February. And well because i wanted to really try out the saws. With you sharpening videos these saws made me really lol at how fast it was going through the wood until i hit the dirt. After a few minutes of sharpening it was back at it :) My friend group and Family is now watching your videos lol.

If you’re interested I will send pictures of my home plenty of rooms 6000 sq ft cedar log home.
I've been using a 193T for years and recently purchased a new echo 271t. I was just curious about your opinion about the 271t vs the 2511 t? There isn't much online about the 271 but there is a lot about the 2511.
Just did a climbing job a day ago , I used the new DeWalt xr 20 v 12 bar in the tree. I filed the rakers a little seems like a small saw clutch can't handle it , for the saw for climbing it worked well. It was cutting 12 inch branches . But I do wish I left the chain alone.
A fun video! Thank you! I love your thoughts on the tree that you planted beside the driveway, in such a way that it was not going to fill in the open space! 😊 Sorry this comment was for the previous muscle car video! Oops! 😂

O Machado e a Motosserra
Entraram junto no mato pra mostrar a serventia
A motosserra roncava machado velho tinia
E naquele matagal foi só cavaco de pau pó de serra que subia
E esse grande duelo deste jeito é que termina
Na briga das ferramentas o machado é que domina
Motosserra parou cedo ali no tronco da quina
Machado seguiu cortando mata grossa e mata fina
Motosserra impotente rebentou sua corrente acabou a gasolina

Haha that’s totally nuts you taking a ride with the top. I think I would’ve chopped my climb line with my saw an stayed on my lanyard. I’ve heard of people doing this an have almost done it myself thanks for sharing that insane story.
Hearing a story like that from the person who experienced the details makes ya think, focus is more important than speed, more important than lunch time, more important than camera angles, more important than phone calls... absolute focus when climbing and cutting is truly the only way to survive unscathed.
" it's not work if you call it a workout "
love this video. time lapse was great
tried that last week here in belgium, climbed 50 feet up a mapple tree and realised it was not for me, that's one heck of a job, i'll keep watching your vids anyway, you've got such a great energy
cheers
Love Wins ✊🏼
good ta see ya
My Seat is a Dragonfly... i use just the Prussuk knot for working.
I bought a non working poulan 42cc 18inch and took a few days to figure out all the issues.. then saw 3 18-20 inch saws for 90$ and grabbed them and cleaned the carbs, adjustef the jets and replaced the diaphragms in one but got them working and tuned to 4 stroke when not under load. .. . Now i have 4 saws without really needing any as there are several at the cabin but these are mine, not someone elses :D
I LOVED your chain sharpening videos so i went out and bought a file set at princess auto sale and tried it out.. so much fun and its relaxing..
Sounds like you have been biten by the wood bug ..😂good for you ,
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Indeed i did.. I was in the forest cutting up some dead fall so the kids could haul it to the bonfire pile so we can burn it in Mid February. And well because i wanted to really try out the saws. With you sharpening videos these saws made me really lol at how fast it was going through the wood until i hit the dirt. After a few minutes of sharpening it was back at it :)
My friend group and Family is now watching your videos lol.
PEACE AN LOVE BILLY BOY ,FROM SCTLAND STUART ,LOVE ALWAYS WINS .

That little limber might have more real power than my MS291!
Okay Buckin' you remember that old American tv show Kojack? "Who loves ya' baby?" We love the content. If one did not then why would you throw out negativity? Just find something else to watch, eh. Kind of like praying Lord grant me patience, NOW!
hahahaa love is grand
Where’s my candy sucker?!😅

Buckin, you should look up the drummer Nate Smith. He’s a mainly a jazz drummer, trust me, you’ll love it.
Thanks for the Commentary on cutting the Tree top . No back Baring. Taking all the Limbs out to direct the cut. I'm going to get me a Weaver 1085.
The world needs more people like Billy.
I love watching you dissect these trees so many teachable moments that you share with us thank you Buckin!!!
yer welcome
Great job Buckin, always work safe, never depend on that “click”
Man I've been trying trying to break into the business, I'm already doing it on my own time on the property and for ransoms occasionally. Where do I even start reading making a living doing it? I run a 372xpw, 455 ranch, ol 41, and a cs-330t. Got chippers shredders and splitters too..
Great climb Buckin.
Long time supporter of your channel I just have noticed that you were at the Paul Bunyan show in Cambridge Ohio ,I pick one heck of a year to mss the event I would have loved to meet you in person. Bucken if you’re ever at the show again would love to have you stay at my lake home at Senecaville it’s 15 minute drive away from the show.
That tree had the branches with a lot of decisions to make. Nice close up detail cutting. What chain do you use on the small saw ? 👍
Sorry this comment was for the previous muscle car video! Oops! 😂
That crew cab is beautiful man✊🏻🇦🇺
Thx pal
One Love! I prefer the long climbs/vids! Keep up the love.
Also, love those old ford rigs!
Noted!
