- The history of the Church of Jesus Christ is beautiful and complex. Over the past 2,000 years, the people of God have been faced with many challenges and experienced countless blessings. In this 3-part series at the Link, Sherif Samaan will be teaching on the history of Christianity while specifically emphasizing the birth and early years of the Coptic Church. In part 1, we discussed the dawn of the Christianity in Egypt.

@@Johnathan909309 Yes, Eastern Orthodox and Catholics believe Christ has 2 natures human and divine, Coptics believe that the divine and human natures in Christ forms 1 nature.

@@Johnathan909309 What it means is that the Coptic Church rejects the Council of Chalcedon an Ecumenical Council for Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics making the Coptic Church a schismatic Church in the eyes of Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics. In resent years the Coptic Church has argued that the schism arose because of language differences and that they actually hold the same Faith as the Eastern Orthodox Church. Some Orthodox and some Roman Catholics accept this argument others don't. So, until this issue is resolved Full Communion with the Eastern Orthodox Church is not in reach. Some Eastern Orthodox Bishops will not give Communion to Coptic Christians others will. I myself haven't studied the issue in enough depth to have an opinion on it. However, the best thing would be for the Coptic Church to accept the Council of Chalcedon and there by resolve the issue. Problem the Coptics claim they were mistreated at the Council of Chalcedon. Some type of reunion Council will need to be held between the Coptic and the Eastern Orthodox Church to end the schism and the issues worked out and the Faith of the Churches made clear to the satisfaction of all sides.
Did God let him speak for us? Or, did we, the coptic people, let him take away the voice of the Holy Spirit? What is this man's name? Beware of any word that doesn't come from God. Remember, take anything you might deem with a grain, and the smallest you can find; take his words with a grain of salt.
