Nice guide. Never had a psp and I am looking forward to exploring the library. I did have serious runtime issues with CoD on a iPhone 13 mini. Haven’t tested other games yet.
Oooo, you're in for a real treat! There's lots of gems on the PSP 🔥🔥 I tested Call of Duty and didn't have any issues running it. It might be a bad file?
The 13 mini has the same A15 Bionic as my iPad Mini 6th Gen, it should handle it no problem without any frame skipping. I’d definitely try a different copy of the game. 🙏
I bought a bluetooth 8bitdo 6 button controller, and that doesn't work. But it's meant for switch, windows, android, macOS, steam. Not other consoles.. maybe I need to get one that's compatible with PS4/5?
When I play psp games on iPhone my device starts getting hot almost immediately. Even some ps1 games make it heat up warm to the touch. On my android device it never seems to get hot even playing things like god of war 2 on ps2.
@@retrotechdad iPhone 14 Pro. Using ppsspp playing chains of Olympus without changing any settings. Also ps1 games on retroarch seem to heat it up a little but not nearly as quickly as psp did. It’s not like burning hot but it’s warm enough for concern. Or should I not worry too much about it
I wouldn't be too concerned about it, the A15 is designed to handle the heat and will throttle as needed. The other thing is that Chains of Olympus is one of the most demanding games for PPSSPP. What resolution do you have it set at? I'd possibly go with something lower like 2x upscale and see how it does.
PPP SS P P is great emulator, combine with those powerful apple devices is way better performance and quality than the original PSP.... thanks, retro tech dad
This is sweet! Don't own an iPhone but I have an ipod from years ago, maybe I'll give this a go. I'm thinking this will add extra pressure to Apple to expand their storage options or maybe an SD card, cuz allowing emulation on Apple is gonna make people think more about that limited storage they have. Thanks!
I'm just glad Apple users can get in on the fun now. 🎉🎉 BTW, for this video, I was actually researching the oldest device that is still supported by Apple... all the way back to 2017!
This is just brilliant for the entire retro scene even if your not an Apple fanboy. Bloody well done young lad. Isn't that a fantastic app? I've been using it for years and on a RP4 Pro, it the rocks as an PSP emulation monster.
Would love to see a full showcase of different apple devices. I am using an iPhone 13 and I feel like less people are upgarding as fast these days. Would be cool to see how it handles all around. Awesome video!
PPSSPP PPSSPP PPSSPP pspspsp 😭😅
When you gotta go, you gotta go!
PPSSPP Pow KIDDY!
I followed this guide until 9:20, then all of a sudden, my ipad M2 was filled with all roms imaginable.
😅 That's awesome, have fun!

@@retrotechdad perhaps, 1x and frame skip didn’t help. I’m going to try some other games to see if it is an anomaly.

It should work with the 8bitdo in Bluetooth. Are you using the M30?
@@retrotechdad yes!!! M30. Is that the only one that doesn’t work?
@@retrotechdad I got it working on the M30. It needs to be XInput Mode

What iPhone model do you have and what settings are you using? I didn't notice it getting too hot on my devices.
