In March of 1985 I organized a harpsichord event to celebrate Bach's tricentenary at our local Unitarian church. I had enough Baroque musicians friends in the San Jose area to get string players and four harpsichordists with their harpsichords. We read through all of Bach's multiple harpsichord concerti. No where as well performed as this recording but damned satisfying. The musicians loved the sound in the church and encouraged me to do more music there. The result was the establishing of the San Jose Chamber Music Society which is close to 35 years old. Thank you Master Bach
When I lived in Germantown MD, we organized chamber and early music concerts at the Neelsville Presbyterian Church which has a marvelously warm acoustic but still is small enough that a chamber orchestra, with a couple each of added basses, 'cellos, and violas, will fill the room. It's too bad that the church didn't have a nice organ to similarly fill the room with its glorious tones. I still remember the sound of Brandenburg Concerto nr. 6 in that church - those low strings sounded so full. I also discovered that a clavichord is so soft that it can't be heard if there is so much as another instrument in the same room with it. But...in Brandenburg nr. 5, just at the point where I had the harpsichord at a level where it actually was part of the mix... the conductor would tap the music desk and say, "Less harpsichord please; close the case top or use only one choir." That's why I like this present recording.

The first song and maybe many more is composed by Vivaldi, arranged by Bach. I know Bach arranged lots of Vivaldi's works but I though it was all for organ.

Wonderful performances and recording quality. I get so confused with the works of Bach. Quite a few of these concertos i know as violin concertos and even as organ solos! So the BWV numbers are false in many cases.
No es de las interpretaciones que mas me han gustado. De todas formas no esperaba mucho porque casi nunca me ha conseguido seducir el Sr. Moroney, sus interpretaciones me parecen rígidas.
Oh, this music is so powerful, absolutely amazing. I love this record as the harpsichord stands in the front of all other instruments. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent music thank you so much. Bach is my favorite and Ive always loved the harpsichord, His concertos played on some from when he was alive is epic. Its like candy for my ears. Peace to all.
@@pottersmiles7238 As an organist who substitutes often, I never cease to be amazed at how skilled church committees are in the use of the "refer 'em around" technique to deflect requests for practice time. Serendipitously, the difficulty in securing keydesk time seems to be in inverse proportion to the quality of the instrument - facilities with, for example, a Beckerath, Skinner, or similarly fine organ usually enjoy having the instrument played and appreciated, whilst places with a hopeless horror of an instrument will guard the thing like Fort Knox. Regular, thorough, and knowledgeable playing keeps an organ in tune (especially the reeds!) and in good repair.
I am now in my 70's and have loved Bach since I was a child! He will never be equalled! Mr. Zampedri plays so wonderfully on this period harpsichord! Bravo!
He wasn't actually ahead of his time musicologically; he was in fact rather a traditionalist. But he was more brilliant than anyone (then or ever!), including his contemporaries like Handel and Telemann.
While listening to this thus lofty music , I cannot but remember Helmut Walcha's words, the which sounded as follows:" When I play Bach's music, I discover God".These concertos are so grandiose, that I unnethes can talk about hem with human words.
ADORO TUTTA LA MUSICA DA BACH, MOZART,..A CHARLIE PARKER, CHET BAKER!!! MA IL CLAVICEMBALO HA PER ME UNA FORZA IPNOTICA..! J. S. BACH MI CONGELA NEURONI,...SINAPSI...TUTTO IL CERVELLO....MI PIACE DA IMPAZZIRE...E QUESTO ALBUM E' BELLISSIMO.....GRAZIE !
It's like discovering a time machine. And it takes me back to one of my favorite times in history and to one of my all time favorite composers. Or maybe a better analogy is it's like going straight to heaven. Peace and love to all my brothers and sisters now and through all of time.
Concerto for 4 unaccompanied harpsichords is the only thing that fully satisfies my craving for harpsichord music, after listening to this for a few weeks I had to purchase the CD's today.
it is an amazing recording isnt it? If youre in the northeastern USA, these folks do very nice small concerts out of their house or barn (except now with the damn pandemic of course), which are lovely, google "brandywine baroque wilmington delaware". Its music that sounds much better in person than in recording typically, though, here it seems that they really made the effort to make the gritty and distorted noisy side come out, which makes it all the more fun for me, honestly.
@@andresdecos9424 I'd argue that the harpsichord is a perfect instrument for recording, as it has many intricate details in sound, which often get lost, especially when played at bigger churches etc.

+felixnauta De nada hombre, acostumbrado a andar por páginas en Inglés no había reparado que también hablabas Español; yo, el Inglés...solo por escrito, de viva voz +/-.
Saludos pues, que estés bien.
I love this!
Merci !
Gracias a ti por tu visita!
Amongst the concertos for harpsichord we find a famous concerto for recorder , which that nought elles is but the fourth Brandenburg concerto.
The fugue from the last movement of the 4th Brandenburg is out of this world. One of my very favorite fugues.

Ich habe eine triviale Frage : wo wurde das kühne Gebirgsmassiv aufgenommen? where this wonderful picture was taken?
Torres del Paine. Patagonia-Chile
@@miguelzampedri Thank you very much!

The first one its a reedition, the original was composed by Vivaldi
It's not a just a reedition, it's a transcription with a few changes also

Wow!!!
Wonderful performances and recording quality. I get so confused with the works of Bach. Quite a few of these concertos i know as violin concertos and even as organ solos! So the BWV numbers are false in many cases.
Davitt Moroney is listed as a soloist on some of the concertos but is not listed at the top when naming the artists, performers.
The beginning is from Vivaldi (ar-arranged by Bach), am I wrong?
Yes
Oh, this music is so powerful, absolutely amazing. I love this record as the harpsichord stands in the front of all other instruments. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your visit and comment. A cordial greeting.
Concerto in A minor at begining of this video is a transcription of Vivaldi's concerto for four violins in B minor (RV 580)
No wonder it literally sounded the same
Thank you, I thought I was mad.
George Balanchine used the Vivaldi concerto as the music for "Square Dance".

Excellent music thank you so much. Bach is my favorite and Ive always loved the harpsichord, His concertos played on some from when he was alive is epic. Its like candy for my ears. Peace to all.
It's a shame for an organist to admit it... but I think the harpsichord was really JSB's favorite instrument.
His favorite ones were clavicord and organ
His favourites were probably the ones he had access to the most. Getting constant access to a pipe organ isnt easy in any century
Harpsichords. The Synths of the Baroque Age
J S Bach. What a gift he had. Thank God for recordings. !!
One of the best recordings I've heard of Bach, of baroque, of classical music and any genre. Sublime.
Thank you very much for providing this to us all, free of ads! I appreciate this so much I will like your video and subscribe. Thank you again!
I am now in my 70's and have loved Bach since I was a child! He will never be equalled! Mr. Zampedri plays so wonderfully on this period harpsichord! Bravo!
Even in his time, Bach was ahead of his time. Musical Genius! These performers are magnificent too.
He wasn't actually ahead of his time musicologically; he was in fact rather a traditionalist. But he was more brilliant than anyone (then or ever!), including his contemporaries like Handel and Telemann.
A special feat indeed 'to be ahead of of one's time in one's time'!
sublime ,maravilloso, emocionante ,evocador, unico, musica para el alma,. el gran maestro de todos los tiempos en todo su esplendor.
Vero. Bach è ipnotico. Non so che magia riesca a fare. Ma queste scale, queste ritornelli, questi alti e bassi. Sono semplicemente meravigliosi!
3시간이 넘게 들을 수 있어서 너무 좋아요... 하프시코드 최고입니다 ㅠㅠ
Lindos concertos! Bach é magnífico e seus intérpretes são impecáveis!
Beautiful music and beautiful picture. Thank you so much for uploading this! Greetings from Sweden!

Music for my soul. Thank so much.
un Bach de haute volée,de l'excellence musicale, admiration profonde
I'm so grateful for this. Thank you for posting this without a bunch of commercials
Awesome recording, really great sound work!!!
It's like discovering a time machine. And it takes me back to one of my favorite times in history and to one of my all time favorite composers. Or maybe a better analogy is it's like going straight to heaven. Peace and love to all my brothers and sisters now and through all of time.
No one can compete with J.S Bach in composing harpsichord piece. He is the greatest musician of all time
Holy cow, incredible.
Think...217k views in 3 years! Jordan P. is worried. A great jewel for those of us needing anabolic harpsichord performances. Thanks.
BACH...EL ALFA Y OMEGA EN LA MÚSICA...ABRIO Y CERRÓ LA CAJA DE LA BELLEZA EN MÚSICA.....
Concerto for 4 unaccompanied harpsichords is the only thing that fully satisfies my craving for harpsichord music, after listening to this for a few weeks I had to purchase the CD's today.
That is exactly how I feel. Like an utter harpsichord junky, it takes that raw wallop of four harpsichords to make me feel anything.
Makes you grin like a maniac, dunnit? Though that booming S.1063 is like Wagner 100 years ahead of time.
it is an amazing recording isnt it? If youre in the northeastern USA, these folks do very nice small concerts out of their house or barn (except now with the damn pandemic of course), which are lovely, google "brandywine baroque wilmington delaware". Its music that sounds much better in person than in recording typically, though, here it seems that they really made the effort to make the gritty and distorted noisy side come out, which makes it all the more fun for me, honestly.
@@andresdecos9424 I'd argue that the harpsichord is a perfect instrument for recording, as it has many intricate details in sound, which often get lost, especially when played at bigger churches etc.
