Thank you everyone for the nice comments! :) I wanted to clarify something when it comes to the Dead Seater portion, so spoilers below. My initial interpretations of Jesse's actions was that he might've been suffering from dissociative personality disorder, and I only somewhat acknowledge the potential for it to be a demon having possessed him in the video. I think games like Dead Seater are much more open to interpretation, and when it comes to stuff like this I tend to lean more toward the human aspects of stuff rather than digging into the supernatural, as I find that more interesting most of the time. Given the fact the DSP, MB's, and the glowing red hand at the end of the game interact with Jesse, it's certainly more likely that it would be a supernatural occurrence of a demon of some nature possessing him versus some incredible hallucinations. I wasn't trying to feed into any stigma, just stating what I thought was happening as I played it. I realize how thinking about it in this way could be harmful, so I decided to trim out the section.
Thank you so much. As someone who has other personalities and gets into trivial arguments with theirs-thinking of other personalities as a dangerous thing is a strong source of some prejudice I’ve received in life. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
i find it pretty funny how Pastra was one of the first to make videos and talk about Zeekers' steam games and how great they are, but just when Lethal Company releases... he's just a few months late to experience it. lol definitely gonna keep a few of his games on my wishlist when i finally get a PC/Laptop
You'll even notice that most of the scraps/items are found in his past games mostly in Upturned, lile the phone, fire exit, pajama man and many more. but most of the Lethal Company monsters are a combination of It Steals and SCP stuffs,
I’m tearing up. I needed to hear about building bridges and making progress out of the dark pit of despair. Right now. Exactly now in my life. I’ve worked on a project for eight years. And now that it’s finishing up, I feel despair because no one seems to care very much. But I know I’ve made something beautiful. I’m proud of it. And I know, in time, I’ll find others who love it too. I know I’ll create completely new things that might even eclipse this 8-year achievement. Maybe so. Maybe not. Only God really knows. But I want to be proud of what I’ve created, no matter what comes next. And this was a good step towards that, for me. Thank you ❤️ I don’t feel comfy sharing here on the internet what my project is, I apologize. But by sharing my struggles, maybe it’ll inspire someone else to just keep going even when the journey absolutely sucks. I’ve seen massive success and I’ve had huge failures. Just keep going. Just keep going.
I swear, It Steals is one of the scariest horror games I've experienced. I always have this weird fear of loud rapidly approaching footsteps coming towards you in horror games, maybe the fact that you can hear something coming and you can't outrun it. And this game (Especially the first few modes) are basically built around that to scare the ever loving shit out of you. Also the tension of Hide and Seek as you hear footsteps slowly get close only to either be found our hear them walk away made me stomach go into my balls lmao.
I was hesitant to play this game until I realized the graphics looked kind of familiar, then looked at the made by bit and saw Zeekers' name. I was so shocked I love his stuff so much.
Ngl it would be cool to see the MBs(?) as a creature in Lethal Company, basically the same mechanic as Dead Seater, they are neutral creatures, so they only become hostile when light is shown on them
WAIT WAIT THE CREATOR OF LETHAL COMPANY- *HE* MADE LIGHT BULB? HE MADE SILENT DARK!? ARE YOU SERIOUS- THOSE ROBLOX HORROR GAMES WERE MY CHILDHOOD BRO, GOD DAMN.
i love how the skills built to play lethal company are all in his other titles. Some of them having enemies who should be avoided (like the evil computers), so of them who you should deal (like the it steals enemies) and some of them who simply should be challenged (like the hide and seek if you didn't activated him yet)
The Upturned is probably one of my favorite horror games of all time, up there with Little Nightmares and, wouldn't you know it, Lethal Company! Ik and Shrimp are forever engrained into my head and I love the hotel skrunglies deeply.
I have never seen your videos before, but I watched this all the way through, and when it showed your inspiration board I got all excited at all the profiles I recognized! I really like how you showed your gameplay of these games rather than stock footage of others playing the games and passing it off as if you played them. (As I’ve seen many others before, do.) it was really refreshing to see something like this. Also side note about UA-cam recently: I’ve noticed a whole slew of new smaller creators in my recommended and since many of the larger creators are taking a break or expressed interest in quitting UA-cam, I think it’s made the perfect environment for all sorts of creators to come out and show what they can do. Just before watching this video I saw someone who was making a synth beat while also talking about their struggle with UA-cam statistics and capitalism as well as being a furry. (I believe the actual title of the video was: “Capitalism and fursonas” by Red means recording) as I commented on their video before: “I don’t normally watch this kind of stuff but it has my attention and interest” Anyway, I really like your form of videos. Hope you will do well in all and forever more of what you choose to do. Subscribed
Just from this video alone, I can already tell your gonna be one if my new favorite youtubers. The editing and art is amazing. I can't wait for more :D
Nice to see how some of leathal companies stuff can be found in his older games like the fire exit you see in dead seater or the shock device in it steals looking oddly similar to the radar booster
First time I played was with my brothers. Later in game on Marth I was scanning for the ship (Cause I got lost), scanned a creature, looked left, and saw the Forest Keeper spawn, and soon died.
the talent and dedication of this dude left me astonished, he's a really underrated storyteller too... i read and collected all of sigurd's logs [lore] in lethal company, they were so funny and then... just sad. of all the comedy in LC, it reminded me how nightmarish it would all be if it were genuinely a reality. the eldritch horror, the symbolism of the opening cutscenes, the psychological consequences of working for the company. I could go on about it for hours. I'm really glad i spent 10 dollars on lethal company, the memories have been absolutely priceless. coding is so difficult, you probably gotta be either really smart or really dedicated or even both to learn how to effectively do it. it's purely logical, but having not only technical skill but also the emotional intelligence to program intelligent and terrifying AI is nearly incomprehensible to me. so. freakin. cool. and then also creating hilarious stories/dialogue on top of all that. JUST ONE PERSON!!! i know im glazing but god im so impressed It's a tried and true rule to never underestimate the drive and passion of artists.
22:49 reminds me of one of my dreams, a long glowing red hallway with a tall dark monster and you have to play hide and seek while going through the hallway to find the exit
This is such a good video! very underrated creator, also I noticed something in it steals. the devices in the phantom level are the same design as the radar booster in lethal company.
Even though Welcome to the Dark Place is in limbo, I noticed one of its ideas is in The Upturned. UPTURNED SPOILERS Like have you noticed when Ik was reading to you about the disasters that happened on Earth or when he was talking about his life before death to you, noises in the background (like Big Boi exploding or the semi truck pulling up) play? Well, it also happens in Welcome to the Dark Place which is a text adventure game where it has little visuals and puts a lot of emphasis on sound. I know the idea of noises playing in the background while reading text isn't unique to Welcome to the Dark Place, but it is interesting to notice it.
The fact that the Bracken has mods to change it into Freddy or Goku, but not Legs, the entity that the Bracken is a spiritual successor to, is so disappointing to me. Maybe there is one, but if there is, it doesn't seem to be popular enough for me to have seen it.
hold on, it steals does have some lore. Number 1, each character is a different skin color, so these people you play as are 5 different souls trapped in eternal suffering. that’s all I know B)
I watched a lore video on that game that I think managed to dredge up an old message that Zeekerss made where he said that It Steals was originally going to have interlude sections for lore and that sorta thing. He didn't do it for the final game so the lore is s e c r e t.
Zeekerss never disclosed any private information about themselves, so the age of them is unknown, however internet sleuths have estimated his age to be around 17-20 years old. Since it is known he developed his first game that went unreleased when he was only 8, and “a couple of years later” he released his first game onto Roblox in 2014. That means as of 2023, he has to be about 17-20 years of age.
I've always wanted to get into doing small solo projects like these, but can never find good teachers for things like Unity, or Godot. I have a pretty decent understanding of C# and C++, but that can only get you so far I guess with game development. Any tips for someone looking to properly break into the gamedev stuff?
The best way to learn game engines (for me, at least) was not to follow any huge tutorial series, but to make your own stepping stones in the form of REALLY small projects and treating each one like a list of "things to figure out how to do". If you wanted to make a 2D bullet hell, the first step to that would be "how do I make a player character move?", then the next step could be "how do I make a bullet object move toward the character?", then "how do I make the bullet hurt the character", then "how do I make a LOT of bullets move toward the character". Now you have a bullet hell! You could go on from there and say "well how do I give the character a sprite? how do I animate it?" etc. The internet is your friend, and don't try to dig yourself into a hole on how to do a specific thing. Usually with game engines there are a handful of different ways to do the exact same thing, and given how small of a scope these projects would be you wouldn't have to worry that much about memory and performance. Also, ChatGPT can be a good backup tool to use in order to break down how something might work in a way you can understand, but keep in mind it might spew out nonsense from time to time. Go get 'em man!
with both hide and seeks in "it steals" i beat them without triggering the little fella (on my first try too haha), its not that hard honestly just dont run keep an eye out for him and keep your head low, not straight down but low so you never find yourself staring at him, and honstly the outside level is a lot more easier then the indoor levels cus you can see him over the boxes and stuff :D

I just realized the pajama suit in Lethal Comany is a reference to pajama man from The Upturned

Same bro
most of the items/scraps are from that game so yah, my guy knows how to make good comedy and horror

The Upturned mention YES more people need to talk about it
Honestly, I hope that Dead Seater is about a demon controlling Jesse, not “split personality” because that just feeds into the stigma surrounding it.
That's fair. I decided to trim out the section, thank you for pointing this out.
