    What does the N mean in the Chord progression. V is 5.

      N comes from NEAPOLITAN 6th chord, written on 1st inversion, on the 2nd degree of the scale (flattened supertonic). For example: If the new tonic is G minor, then the N will be A flat major chord (A flat - C - E flat) starting with the major 3rd on the bass. (C note)
