Think UW may have spent more in their tank from the Sugar Bowl. TX had an elite DL and UW’s OL handles them w/ 0 sacks. Many at UW heard the DeBoer to Bama leaked out prior to the game. UW just looked off.
That Michigan defense is a pro defense in every sense of the words. How fortunate for Jim Harbaugh to have his brother be head coach of the vaunted Baltimore Ravens and their storied defenses through the years. Hey bro can you send me your defensive coordinator? Sure bro. Game, set, match. It was as if men were playing against boys for the Michigan D. As much as Ohio State, Washington, Oregon and Georgia have focused on high flying passing games Harbaugh just proved that style of offense doesn't win against ground & pound coupled with a stout defense.
Michigan alum here who was at the game , gg to Husky nation . I was sitting with many UW fans and yall were classy and great to chat with. Class act all the way. Agree on that holding call too, in realtime it looked way worse than when looking at it on replay. Can’t wait to take a trip to Husky stadium in the next years !
Imagine pretending the refs had any impact at all. Hilarious. Michigans d line didn’t get a single holding call for the 5 previous games. That defensive line. You’re lucky you weren’t called for about 6 more.
Washington fans fell into the Joe Moore award trap. It happened to us in 2021 when our line won the award only to get taken behind the woodshed by a superior Georgia defensive front. DeBoer will have to make some fundamental changes if they want success in the Big Ten, which is a physical meat grinder with teams that actually play defense. Just having a good QB and some nice receivers won't cut it. Regardless, UW had a great season. The Pacific Northwest is the best region of the country and I really like and root for UW when they're not playing Michigan.
I thought the exact same thing when I heard Washington had the Joe Moore winning oline. They was about to learn that doesn’t mean anything against a big fast physical defensive line.
The game was over when the Huskies didn't want the ball first after winning the coin toss. You had an unstoppable offense (at the time) and you don't want the ball first? That showed Michigan that UW was scared of their defense. Michigan probably still would've won but at least the Huskies would've shown confidence by taking the ball first.
I said the week before the game that all I wanted was, if Michigan won the coin toss, for Michigan not to defer and take the ball in the 2nd half. Washington’s best chance was scoring quick and I didn’t want them getting the ball first. When Washington won the coin toss and deferred I was extremely happy
We all know Defense wins championships were from Seattle. And 10 years later it still does, especially in college where Defense is not as good as the NFL.
absolutely. this game reminds me alot of the Hawks decimating the Broncos in the Super Bowl. top offense gets rocked by the top defense. QB manages the game efficiently. Solid and great run game. Great offense goes down. Defense wins championships.
Considering the winning point was scored with 2 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter, I don’t think the holding call in the 2nd half was decisive. There were quite a few holds that weren’t called as well, btw.
One of the most shocking elements of the UofM vs UW game was, if you only consider scoring, the game was won 2 minutes, 24 seconds into the first quarter when Michigan scored its 2nd touchdown (plus the field goal, of course). UW only scored 13 points in the whole game, so, when only considering scoring, the game's outcome was established before the first 1/4 of the 1st Quarter.
If that's your definition of fair officiating you're way to easy to fool. Calls shouldn't be 50/50 when one team is committing penalties every other play and it's not getting called.
I’m a Michigan fan. Michigan has also been victimized by bad calls. Who hasn’t? But If the result of the game comes down to one or two calls, you haven’t done your job of performing well enough in all phases to win the game, and so the loss is still ultimately on you. That’s what I always say when it’s Michigan as the victim. It seems like that was also the attitude of these guys. See you next year in the BIG!
Good honest eval of the game! I thought the holding was a terrible call but certainly wasn't a factor in the game. I also thought the push over out of bounds was bad call considering McCarthy got thrown down 2 yards out of bounds during the bama game with no call. Keep the refs out of deciding a game and it's great. Congrats to Washington on a great season when the pac 12 was fantastic.
Yeah, the no call during for roughness against JJ during the Bama game was shocking, especially after having just penalized Michigan #44 for unnecessary roughness for dropping on top of a Bama defender while an active running play was approaching. Weird.
I’ve bet for and against Michigan all year. Ditto Washington. The physicality of Michigan was their identity. Their QB1 is mid. Their defense won all their close games. If Oregon thinks they’re gonna run the B1G next year- they’re not. Each team is tougher than what they faced in that soft pac 10. These teams aren’t the SEC, but they are the next best thing.
You wouldn't take JJ McCarthy???? 27-1 as a starter, one of the highest winning percentages in college football history, and a National Champion. That's not good enough for you? If you add in his high school record the guy is 65-3 when he starts. He only wins 95.6% of the time. If he comes back for his senior year you get to try to stop him again next year.
@@DocNinini I never said they would. What I meant was these two teams play again on Sept 7. Repeat Natty's are very rare. I wouldn't predict one for any team.
Huskies are a very good team, but the match up was a nightmare for them. Michigans size and especially team speed on defense just jumped off the screen. Like against Bama, they could just decide it’s go time and score, while playing boring up to that point. Great finishers.
So you got 90 kids on the team and your #1 RB is 70% at the start of the game and you can’t find another RB to play more snaps and run the ball with? Give me the 100% physical able back-up player over the 70% physically able star. That is every game not just the championship game.
Keep in mind, my team, Michigan, primarily comprises 3-4 star recruits, mainly influenced by our academic standards. We rank on the edge of the top 10 schools in recruiting. If Harbaugh had access to Alabama's talent pool, he would've achieved a level of success comparable to Saban. Talent gap was clearly visible when we were losing to ohio st and other top teams.

The comment about the holding call is out of pocket because it was too egregious. He grabbed him outside of his shoulder pads and drug him to the ground that is always going to get called. You aren’t going to get calls being grabbed inside the numbers often. Gotta know what refs allow and don’t allow and that’s on coaching.

Sure bro. Game, set, match. It was as if men were playing against boys for the Michigan D. As much as Ohio State, Washington, Oregon and Georgia have focused on high flying passing games Harbaugh just proved that style of offense doesn't win against ground & pound coupled with a stout defense.
It's been a long time since I I've seen a QB beat up that badly
Michigan alum here who was at the game , gg to Husky nation . I was sitting with many UW fans and yall were classy and great to chat with. Class act all the way. Agree on that holding call too, in realtime it looked way worse than when looking at it on replay. Can’t wait to take a trip to Husky stadium in the next years !
Great game to watch!
Imagine pretending the refs had any impact at all. Hilarious. Michigans d line didn’t get a single holding call for the 5 previous games. That defensive line. You’re lucky you weren’t called for about 6 more.
From UM fan - Looking forward to keeping this rivalry going in the B1G!
....and JOHN is going to win the BIG ONE in the NFL this season.

Michigan took the Huskies to the woodshed…”intellectual brutality”
Much respect for Brock.
Defense wins championships.
we were all thinking that last night re Michigan D vs Seahawks !! it was going around last night
Considering the winning point was scored with 2 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter, I don’t think the holding call in the 2nd half was decisive. There were quite a few holds that weren’t called as well, btw.
Get ready for next season. Plays them again in the regular season. Whole new world now.
Really enjoy Brock's announcing.
UW O-line held Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant all day and couldn't stop them. Stop blaming penalties, both teams commited equal, as usual.
I counted at least 12 holds that should have been called on Washington.
If that's your definition of fair officiating you're way to easy to fool. Calls shouldn't be 50/50 when one team is committing penalties every other play and it's not getting called.
boohoo

How many times is the dude gonna say "Seahawks" in this video? The over/under is 2.5
I’m a Michigan fan.
At no point in that game was Michigan in jeopardy of losing the game
Good honest eval of the game! I thought the holding was a terrible call but certainly wasn't a factor in the game. I also thought the push over out of bounds was bad call considering McCarthy got thrown down 2 yards out of bounds during the bama game with no call. Keep the refs out of deciding a game and it's great. Congrats to Washington on a great season when the pac 12 was fantastic.
Sooooo true. You have to beat the refs, no doubt about it.
Yeah, the no call during for roughness against JJ during the Bama game was shocking, especially after having just penalized Michigan #44 for unnecessary roughness for dropping on top of a Bama defender while an active running play was approaching. Weird.
Can't complain about calls when Number 73 Rosengarten had a head start every snap trying to stop Michigans edge rushers
GO BLUE !!!!!!! HAIL TO THE VICTOR'S
Michigan was simply the better team. By a wide margin.
Michigan wont go back to back . Be real bro
@@DocNinini I never said they would. What I meant was these two teams play again on Sept 7. Repeat Natty's are very rare. I wouldn't predict one for any team.
Donavan Edward's, Bkake Corim is why!
Check your facts
The days of Michigan using academic standards towards athletes has changed dramatically
2.0 GPA is all that is required
Compare your big blue to Stanford
Even Notre Dame has adapted
Your school is impeccable in terms of its actual school, no one is doubting that. I have contacts from the geology and business departments there.
But times have changed in terms of the athletes getting in.
Michigan is the same as any SEC team nowadays, all scumbag cheaters. And don’t get me started on Bo Schembechler.
If you’d like to expose or insult my school feel free. We’re not even division 1. In fact we are D3.
In Pittsburgh. Private research university.
You’re a smart Wolverine grad, you can figure that out.
Congratulations on winning a natty, but only if you admit to yourself that Michigan is not some high academic football program above the others.
The players earned it. No qualms.
I used all facts. Zero opinion.
@@earthsucks9555still doesn't change the fact that a team of 3-4 stars beat three top 10 teams filled with 4-5 star players
@@earthsucks9555as far as all the teams are cheaters I'd agree with you. In my opinion it's why Saban has struggled lately because the NIL took away their pay2win advantage. No one will convince me otherwise seeing certain teams year after year stacked with 5 stars even at third string on the depth chart.
@@earthsucks9555Except recently a great athlete named Xavier Worthy wanted to go to Michigan but couldn’t be admitted because of academic standards so I’m not so sure about that.
What school did you go to that enabled you to be so confused between facts and opinions? You must be a "dog". bark bark. or is it "yip, yip yip"@@earthsucks9555
Wulp..You blew up the Pac 12 , a legendary conference to run off to the Big Ten....so enjoy..especially your treks to Jersey to play Rutgers..WTFlunk..You got run over and beat up....
1 for 10 is irrelevant when the opponent is making the linebackers look silly on first and second downs.
Nothing to be ashamed of, 14-1 and lost to an all time defense. That game was close late congrats on a great year, Go Blue!
Washington. I have confidence that you will enjoy the Big Ten more than Penn State ... and certainly more than frequent national contender, Nebraska.
IT WAS A GREAT SEASON. GO HUSKIES!😊
Michigan fan here, totally agree with this, congrats on a great season!
@@tbg2261 NICE to see a Michigan fan with CLASS! (I just got through responding to a bunch of crass Michigan fans on Twitter, so you ARE much appreciated!)

Welcome to the big 10. Most team's would kill to be 14-1. You had a good season.
@GARose-kt4jc Thanks. To me, PAC12 vs B10 in the ROSEBOWL was always THE CHAMPIONSHIP! Next year is going to be crazy 🤪
Pups lost the game at the coin flip...why choose defense?
Get the ball at half. It actually played out well for them, they had a chance to tie it up on the first drive in the 2nd half, but threw and INT
Michigan defers every game
Will Harris and Will Smith 😂
If you want to be great in the Big Ten then you need to be the most physical team evey game with running the ball and stopping the run before anything.
Playoff football shouldn't be flag football and they always should let them play and be handsy but Michigan was the most physical team in college football all year with more depth then Washington and thats ehy they win last night.
Washington was "puckered" the entire game Brock. No matter how you try to spin it for the Huskies, they were outmatched, period. You witnessed how deep and the strangular effect Michigan has especially in the 4th. They just wear you down physically and mentally.
Washington got away with holding all game long. One call vs. multiple calls that could have been made against the Huskies.
Nonsense They showed Michigan tugging on jerseys all night Washington wasn't doing that The phantom holding against Washington at 13 to 20 was a kill shot
Seems like Penix had too much adrenaline going the way he was over-throwing the ball.
Fear tends to make adrenaline spike.
Cocaine also makes adrenaline spike
With the news coming out about DeBoer leaving for Alabama I can’t help but feel bad for Washington. Man their coach totally hung them out to dry. Every decent player on Washington is about to hit the draft or the portal. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see UW winning more than maybe 6 games next year now.
Ive never seen podcast with casual fans , you dont even know names of players which tells me you did absolutely no research at all
10 of 13 points Washington scored were because of penalties called on Michigan. Even if that big pass had been allowed to stand there's absolutely no guarantee that it results in any points, let alone a TD. Washington fans and the players and coaches were full of hubris. You all deserve a heaping slice of humble pie, no whipped cream. 🏆💍🌹〽️🔵
If uw would have used 3 defensive tackles and crowded the linen of scrimage with 10 defenders. Score would have been different
That’s been tried numerous times early in the season. JJ would simply shred them.
Yeah, it probably would've been worse. JJ would've been playing catch with his WRs. LMAOOOOOOO
Glad to hear it was the refs, that caused UW to have 4 yards per play, vs UM nearly 8 per play. That is totally lopsided.
As good as Washington was this season, Michigan was the more complete team. Washington has nothing to be ashamed of. They were a great team as well.
Welcome to the Big10.
Washington had missed holds as well. Hrab with ledt hand and pushed his back with his other. More of a tackle.
Very few..Michigan was practically tearing the jersey off and no calls
Considering the O-line’s dominance over OR and TX in the previous two games, their performance last night was downright embarrassing.
Yeah, those two teams have horrible defenses. Michigan is #1. The best has a way of making good look bad. Lol
All I heard going into the Sugar Bowl was how dominant UT's line was led by Sweat and Murphy. They barely laid a fingernail on Penix@@stedman8778
The best team won.
The Washington coach was confused and looked like it on the sidelines. Corum and Edwards just ran wild. Whenever analysts go to “calls” I turn it off. They made calls and they didn’t make calls, you won’t find a perfect game.
Michigan had more penalty yards then Washington.
You’re mutilating some of the last names of Michigan players
It's okay, that's loser mentally and it fits that he'd be a fan of a loser program.
That holding call when the Huskies finally hit a big play and could've gone down and tied the game, changed everything.
U right
Nah it was the first play INT to start the 3rd qtr.
Well when you have to hold to get a play off that kinda changes the color of what's happens during the play doesn't it?
Don't hold and throw defender to ground then
@@MrRjsnowdenboth are right Penix injured his leg on that int. And he was missing passes after that
Harbaugh leaves to the NFL and Michigan hires Deboer. How wild would that be? Im a Michigan fan and Deboer would be my 1st choice if Harbaugh bolts. Him or Moore.
not gonna happen
DeBoer went to Alabama.
That, and Michigan is going to hire they guy they just beat. LOL.@@ToBeDetermined56789
Washington has no speed in the second layer. It was so clear and obvious on tv. Just sad penix was off this game. We had opportunities to keep the came close but couldn’t get it done ultimately.
He wasn't off, he was terrified. Completely playing for his life out there.
The receivers were running open and Penix was missing them
@@NWstockoperator hard to hit them when you're fighting for your life.
@@stedman8778 he was only sacked once. Some of those misses he was under no pressure at all. Hey Michigan played better and deserved to win but Penix played below his normal game
@@NWstockoperator I'm not talking about sacks though. After you get a QB on edge they'll play nervous, whether he's actually getting hit or not. He was really on edge. They got him out of his comfort zone.

only losers cry about refs.... welcome to the B1G... all that passing doesn't work in your new conference, one to grow on
You don't have to worry about 1 for 10 for first downs when you score from 40 plus!
maybe someone can explain to me how UW's #73 gets away w/ pushing the defensive lineman in the back whenever they get around him. his right arm was constantly used for that purpose throughout this and other games. sure, he got called for "holding" here and there but it never seemed to be connected to what looks like a modified block in the back. aside from that, UM fans shouldn't whine about the officiating when a # of false starts weren't called against UW that clearly should've been.
Will Johnson , Buddy
Colin Cowherd claims that Kalen Debour has just switched to a new agent…… Jimmy Sexton……….. who reportedly represents 11 of the 14 SEC head football coaches. That may be pre Saban resignation though, but you get where this is heading. And this on the heels of Lanning going on record claiming he is staying at Oregon………………..
There were plays to be made, if our offense had an average game I think the Huskies could have one. Not to put it all on one guy but Penix wasn't himself.
UW fans talk so much how penix was going to destroy michigan but never talk how they where going to stop michigan offense defense wins championships with UW joining the big ten they better learn defense
You think an average game could've won? LMAOOOOOOO if you had played a decent defense all year you would've seen that this is your average. LMAOOOOOOO
Michigan is thee #1 defense. Built to beat one team and one team only TTDS. Washington just happened to be a carbon copy of that team.
