I'm Japanese.There's a vegan fruit sandwich shop in Asakusa Tokyo(kaminarimon).Their cream is made from soy milk and taste so good!!! If you have a chance to go Asakusa,pls try it😊

I didn't know there were vegan restaurants in Tokyo, are they more catered to tourists or are more Japanese locals becoming vegan?
I think it's more like both, tourists and Japanese, but most of Japanese are not vegan so their targets are ... it's difficult to answer for me😅

I'd love to visit one day! I'm German and there's a lot of vegan alternative products in stores and restaurants. I live close to a large city and there's a whole district full of vegan restaurants! 😊
Do they offer plant based meat in Japanese Convenience stores as well?
And I noticed a lot of English descriptions, is that because these vegan restaurants cater to a more western audience or are regular Japanese restaurants the same?

I'm not too sure we can have vegan food in convenience stores, we might have some but not much I guess.
Targets of customers are I guess non Japanese people because only few numbers Japanese people are vegan so the shop very welcomes western audiences!!

That's a shame but understandable, if not many people are buying these products, it makes no sense to sell them in most places, I get it.
