I blind bought this because I wanted something very "exclusive" for special occasions. It is a parfum concentration and the longevity is solid. I never had Layton or smelled it up close. This one smells a bit like "beets" to me. It has a sweet forest smell and is deep. Some on Fragrantica are saying it smells a little like tomatoe leaves and there is truth to that. Overall it smells like money and power, which is exactly the image I was looking for, since I am kinda lacking in both. I am only going to use this for important job interviews and events, so 125 ml bottle should last me a life time.

Quite possible to have Earthy
Nuances .
Use it up, perfumes have a shelf life / expiration of 1-3 years. They get stale and lose performance and notes after that time
@@SaintsCheat Not if you keep them in a cool and dry place. I used my Este'e Lauder Intuition for over 12, 13 years and I never noticed any difference. If anything some fragrances get stronger over time especially if they're base heavy.
I have Layton and just fell in love with the drydown. Think I'm gonna order a sample of the exclusif.
EXCLUSIF has Civet and Laotian Oud.

God, Exlusif really grew on me. Didnt think it would be able to beat the OG, but I have come around completely to exclusif.
Patience is really a virtue with PDM, I'm finding. Blind bough Oajan yesterday and I initially didnt like it (just a blast of boozy hippy shop incense initilally), now it's starting to click. Almost Christmassy.

I completely agree with your take on Layton and Layton Exclusif. I absolutely adore Layton but I love Exclusif a little more. They both are compliment getters and both last all day but Exclusif has a little something extra to it that provides it with depth that Layton doesn’t have. Excellent video and keep it up.

Love the comparison...your take is extensive and extremely authentic in its delivery. I find the differences almost negligible to my untrained nose...certainly not worth the price difference. IMHO of course. I do have Layton and its at the top of my fragrance list...I did however pick up Anaqeed (Layton Exclusif Clone)... I still don't detect much of a difference might as well be a Layton Clone and a pretty Good one at that. Love em Both.. Why do you give me Robert DeNiro vibes??

Hi Ammar,
Dior Homme is a softer fragrance if ,if you are talking about the original. The new formulation from2020 is has Elemi in it and therefore is much brighter.
PdM Layton has a freshness to it that can be overwhelming for the first few minutes. (Especially in a car).I think Layton wins The projection and sillage and is even with the longevity.

I was initially turned off of Layton Exclusive. However, I have grown to respect and enjoy the complicated nuance it provides. Good thing since I blind bought the 125 ml size. PDM like Mancera continues to impress me!!!

I have and love both. I love Layton for more regular outings. But if it’s really cold and I’m going to do something that I need to dress up for, Layton exclusif is the dumb reach for sure.

I just blind bought Exclusif. Waiting for my package now. I loved the smell of Layton in store so I figured I will like that type of fragrance with the addition of oud. Honestly didn’t think of Layton as a masculine type of fragrance. Perhaps because I expect barbershop type of scent in perfumes marketed to men. I am a woman and while I love sweet and girly scents I buy perfumes marketed to men often. Anyway… looking forward to the Exclusif for nighttime wear. Hopefully, it’s a nice one.

With all Parfums De Marly which one do you think would be the best for spring and summer? I have a few bottles but trying to choose a good fresh one.
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Greenley. But for right now I still like Layton for Spring and Summer.

@@ScentTrail I have Greenley and Pegasus. Just got my Layton Exclusif in an hour ago :) Greenley is a little on the generic side, but still a fantastic scent with performance better than anything I've ever used for high heat situations.
Hi Peter, I have Layton and I love it, really happy that didn't blind bought Exclusif, sampled it and didn't like it, the dry down and longivity are great but there is something in the opening few hours in Exclusif that is not for me.

I don't know if that's an option for you, but especially for Aventus there are many good clones. Armaf Club de nuit seems to be almost identical and it's about 40$ I often heard it even lasts longer than the original new batches of C A.

The animalic smell from the Civet note can be off putting together with the strong woody smell from exclusif, but still a very nice fragrance

Layton is great for warmer weather and Layton exclusif is perfect for fall/winter
I like the animalistic/ "filth" accord in the exclusif
Both are compliment beasts

1st time here.... Sub'd. Pegasus was my intro to PDM. Now got Layton Exclusif still boxed, so scared to unbox it cos its so expensive😂😭

If we have to choose between Layton and aventus?😊
Both are priced on the high side .
Both smell great.
Both get compliments.
Both are Signature Scent worthy.
Layton 2016 debut.
Aventus 2010 debut.
Aventus has some decent clones.
I don't know any Layton clones.
Newer bottles of Aventus are weaker.
Layton still a good performer.
Aventus has Ambergries , oakmoss ,musk and vanilla in the Drydown (very nice).
Layton has Violet ,cardamom, patchouli and guaic wood.
Layton is a bit younger to my nose.

Layton works year round, Aventus doesn't really work in fall and winter.
Both are attractive scents Layton is more chill and cozy, Aventus is more aggressive and macho. Both are versatile, great for the office and great for going out. I prefer Layton because it's more unique, sweeter and more likeable/friendly. Aventus is a very masculine citrus scent that is a bit overhyped imo
