Hello CurryKitten, Thank you very much for this video. Good job ! I finally received from Hobbycool ;-) my T12 pro last week! 2 months for delivery...!!! I was praying for a new FW Open TX. Yeees !! Perfect in time with my delivery. So I immediately updated Open TX 2.3.9, the bootloader, as well as the internal Multiprotocoles firmware 1.3.1.9 No particular difficulty but your tutorial would have served me well :-) Take care and nice fly. Regards.
@@CurryKitten Yes, what I found shocking is the plethora of different flavours of Multi protocol Module...Pretty sure some of my flying buddies ain't using the right Flash in theirs...A common problem is telemetry..
To make firmware update quicker, i only leave the sound file in the sound folder for the language that i need. So for me I leave "en" for english and delete all other language folders. This makes the process quicker. also i can fit it all on a super old 128MB card. My Jumper T12 had the issue with Failsafe, and receiver still connected. so far so good, will update if things change.
Hi, ❤️ videos. I went to the website to download the software but it didn’t work as wouldn’t recognise even after the file was shortened, Go to Jumper website and download the factory software and it worked perfectly. 👍 Btw after upgrading all software on card and flashing set the 4in1 wasn’t in set up menu, after this factory file was flashed all works as it should.
No need to rebind R-XSR receivers as well. Sadly the annoying "receiver is still connected"-message is still popping up randomly - but disabling the RSSI shutoff warning is a nice workaround :o)
It is annoying - I was happily flying around yesterday only to have that message 3 or 4 times. I hope they fix it soon - I did suggest a workaround for it in the issue, but they didn't seem keen :)
I have just spent two days doing this on the original t12 and it seems early external modals came without a bootloader, so they need flashing from the PC for the first update so if anyone gets failed flash when attempting this just look up the PC flash process
Thanks for mentioning, I wasn't sure if the T12 would have the necessary bootloader or not. Updating an external module via USB isn't too bad, but certainly not as convenient as just doing it from your TX
Did you flash directly from PC USB to the external module? I have a T12 Plus (with the JP4In1-SE) which needs updating and my concern is is the 5V from USB OK using the Github reccomendations. Thanks.
Currykitten - I'm keen to get this radio as I love the form factor but put off by the dropout issues. Are you getting good performance with it on OpenTx 2.3.9 and is it still your daily driver? Thx for all the work you've put into your videos!
Yes - I still use this radio the most. It was very weird the other day as I used my X9D and it felt massive :) Performance is good and I like the form factor as well. It does still have the annoying "receiver still connected" bug where it will shout that out at various intervals, but doesn't actually do anything (I've turned the warning off until it's fixed)
hi I Tried updating but i am getting a message saying needs flie stm-opentx-noinv and i notice the file you have updated has the noinv in the name. the file available on the multi module website ends with mm-stm-serial-aetr-v. Do i need to install something else? I am new to all this.
I was flying my Beebrain Brushless whoop & it fail-safed. As I was approaching the craft, I tried to re-arm & fly it but it wouldn't respond. I flipped through all my switches on my radio to see if it would respond to anything, but nothing. I noticed in my goggles that the OSD was showing it was stuck on horizon mode and other switch settings I had randomly flipped through at some point. I figured the fail-safe had made it lose its binding somehow. I checked my radio & it was showing "Upg. advised" next to Status. So I quickly googled what that meant & learned that the multi-protocol module needed to be updated. I did that & tried to re-bind to the craft, which it did so, but I'm unable to register any stick or switch commands on the craft or in Betaflight (SBUS).
This is a bit of a curious one - especially in the first instance with you losing signal and not being able to reconnect. Given that it seems to bind but act weird makes me question if there's any issue with the signal. Is this on an actual physical rx though, or the SPI version. If you've got another Radio, or quad handy it would be useful to see how the quad reacts to another radio, and/or the radio works on another quad to try and pin down the issue
@@CurryKitten It's an actual RX. Beeceiver, SBUS. It's a NewBeeDrone AcroBee Brushless. I was able to bind to another Acrobee without issue. Took it outside& flew it for a bit a little while ago.
So could be an issue with that RX then, worth checking those solder joints to make sure nothing has come loose - and perhaps try a continuity test from the SBUS pad on the rx to the pad on the FC to check there's no breaks there
CurryKitten I'll do that today. I actually considered that for a bit last night. Sometimes it helps when someone else mentioned something & it confirms your suspicions. Lol
You can put the file on the radio, either by plugging the radio in and selecting it as a mass storage device, or just take the SD card out, plug it into you computer and move the file over that way.
When i try and download the file windows ask what i want to use to open. I have 9 zip. And the upgrade is a bin file or am i missing something. I am totally frustrated!
The answer is not to let windows attempt to open it - it's not for windows! Yes, it's just a .bin file that you need to put on the SD card in your radio so you can run the upgrade from there
The bootloader on some of the older modules may not support flashing via the radio until you update the bootloader. Check out this page github.com/benlye/flash-multi/blob/master/doc/New_Bootloader.md
Hello Buddy, thanks for your contents! I am a happy owner of Jumper T12 Pro! I saw the internal module V. 1.3.1.24 has just been released, and in the multi-module download page, selecting the latest stable firmware, there is a new .zip file called MultiLua Scripts to download.. so, what is that file and how can i install it in my rado? Thank you so much :)
I've never seen them update LUA as well. So these are replacements for the scripts you already have under your tools section. (long press left will get you directly there) so unzip that file and copy the 2 lua files and the .txt files under SCRIPTS/TOOLS on your SD card. You'll see that these scripts already exist under there, so always a good idea to back up first - although odds on you aren't actually using these scripts anyway.
I found solution - you have to update opentx first. Only then does it except 4in 1 protocol update. And the opentx update must be done through opentx companion- not through remote (even it it says it flashed successfully)
Guess what's happened now,my bind function has gone ,click on protocol then down to bind no bind returns to start.I really had enough been trying for hours.
Yes, the upgrade should be the same - but I don't have a T16 Pro, so some of the screens maybe slightly different - but as long as you can navigate to the firmware file on your SD card then you should be able to flash the internal module with it
Thanks again C.K ,done this all protocols back again, still a lot to learn but I'm getting there, thanks for your help.
