I am said customer and can't tha k you enough for solving this for us mate , the DAF aids Tech literally did throw the parts cannon at us for a simple fuse lol. Thank you once again mate , I have you saved on speed dial 😂👍
I get 2 videos for every one of these... TOP SHELF TECHNICAL and Language Class learning new words phrases and meanings 😎 SUCH A GREAT CHANNEL RUSS !!!
Hey Mark sorry for the late reply! Literally just got around to sorting UA-cam comments out today! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos...anything you want to see in the future from Truck tech uk.
another informative video mate i thought i had finished on the spanners but no going back on them on nights at a Daf dealership so will be watching for hints and tips which i was anyway
Just a fatigued fuse then? I always tend to itch myself into thinking why it blown. Nice of you to turn up to merc haha. Btw you need a milwaukee ratchet 🤪
Hey thanks for the comment 😎👍. Yep fuse was blown most probably from jump-starting if the batteries had been replaced. It was very posh in merc much better dealer standards than where I've been 🙈. If you mean m12 or m18 I've a draw full of them lol just never seem to go for them when it involves things I can sheer off 😅🫣
Well done mate, ,,well i suppose its good too fit new essential parts like batteries and alternator / belt... as well as a fuse... 😊, wow the Dealer couldn't fix it....
Hey mate, did you disconnect batteries before remove the fuse 😅 I had case with 30 volts on batteries and 28 on alternator - it was bad connection on the harness.. Regards
Thanks for the comment. Always a good question, usually the person fitting the alternator doesn't take the correct precautionary measures or the same goes for the person jump-starting it with flat batteries. Always a story and usually you get half when attempting to make an analysis......as long as the description of the fault is rectified that is first described to me I'm happy......anything else I'm always happy to re-attend.
Those engines at the Mercedes dealer look just like the DD5 and DD8 that we use over here in the states in our medium duty trucks. Does your Jal-test have a special license? Or do all Jal-test come with wiring diagrams? I just found out DAF has Paccar engines in them. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Oh mate it's a weekly thing.....you would think people would take notice and learn 😅. I need some epic truck faults.....I'm paying the bills but its all simple stuff unfortunately 😕
Unbelievable how someone will happily change 2 batteries, an alternator and a belt without once checking the drawing and simply checking a couple of fuses, I know what I’d rather do first 😅
Hey thanks for the comment at the end of the day It's all money and guesswork and whatever parts they have on the van. I suppose they told him that the batteries need replacing as they are poor and it's most probably the alternator.....oh you need a belt too. 🤔
Hi bro ...love your videos Bro canbi ask you . .a friend of mine say that ther is a diode or a sort fuse in the ecm harness from cabin to ecm .because I replace one with the same wire harness, I even check the wire number ,all are in the same place on the connector, but the truck will not start and red engine warning. But when I put the original one back everything is ok . I replace it because the connector was damaged
@@TRUCKTECHUK hi bro Wel he told me from euro 4,5 and 6. He didn't tell me which year model. So I think it have to be from the new PCM model not the old euro 3 model. He only told me when replacing the harness loom with an old harness it will not work even if the wires at at the right place and right code ,because it have a safety diode in it. It will only work if I use a new harness. And in my country we don't have new ones ,we have to replace it with old harness here.so bro can toy see it its true about the harness. What he did say that a friend that works at the factory told him .about 1% chance sometime when starting the truck for the first time they get a problem that the volt just overload and the loom stop making CAN communication O sorry bro ...DAF trucks

Love you approach and methodical testing . Nice work pal 👌 .
Some people always go down the complicated/difficult route first. Always check the basics.

nice 1 mate hope ya well
Great video, as always 👍
Like someone already said...
Check through the basics (or cheapest options) first 😊
Good analysis as always! But... why did the fuse blow?

Those Paccar engines originate from DAF. They have been adapted for use here in the American market.
Подскажи пожалуйста, jaltest блокируется по истечению подписки?
спасибо за комментарий 👌 . нет, это не так, НО это ограничивает функции
@@TRUCKTECHUK ок спасибо
@@TRUCKTECHUK what functions are limited?
