    Book Synopsis:
    Shahd Alshammari is just eighteen when she is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and told by her neurologist that she will not make it past age thirty. Despite what she is told, by thirty she has managed to navigate education systems in both Kuwait and the United Kingdom, and inspire generations of students as a professor of literature.
    Dr. Shahd AlShammari is a Kuwaiti-Palestinian writer, academic scholar and assistant professor of English at at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (Kuwait). She is well known for her works that focus on human and women's rights, disability issues and, recently, illness.
    Dr. Ramzi Salti is a Lecturer for the Arabic Program at Stanford University as well as the author of "The Native Informant and Other Stories." He also authors his own 'Arabology' blog at arabology.org (featuring cultural productions from/about the Arab World) and hosts a radio program titled 'Arabology' which airs on KZSU Stanford 90.1 FM
