Diantha being an alien but then scrapped makes so much sense why she’s hardly in the game. She probably had so many more scenes besides the two casual meetings, but after they scrapped the idea they had to cut those out along with redesigning her lines and model.
Just to throw 2 cents at it, Moonbeam was always weird to me as a Fairy move, it kinda stands out as something specifically tied to the moon for some reason, while all the other moves are about charm or beauty. AND THEN they also retyped Moonlight to be a Fairy move too, so if that post is real, it would make a lot of sense.
That would explain the lack of legendaries in Gen 6 at the time. May have had some ideas where maybe even some of the UBs could have been in XY

Emphasis on "First" Draft.
Honestly it’s a cool idea.
But the pessimist in me says, it seems to convoluted. It just seems to complicated to explain the alien ideas. Especially how they allegedly were suppose to be. It seems OP just created this idea and unused the fact x and y felt incomplete along with other theories people had. And sort of put together this compelling idea for a scrapped x and y story. I mean the fairy type makes some sense. But again, using clefairy being from the moon to create this version of fairy type. It just seems so weird. Especially since we know dragon was the dominant type of Pokémon. Especially in competitive.
Ultimately. It sounds like when x and y were in development they heard aliens and the sources came to conclusions about aliens being in x and y. When some could have actually been taking about sun and moon. Gen 7 might have already been in the planning phase with just some basic ideas. It’s hard to say because some things make sense. But It feels like they took Gen 7’s early ideas for aliens and fused it. To create this confusing but compelling post for an Original story for x and y.
I’m not saying OP is lying. But it’s just very difficult to believe since early stuff like this isn’t usually talked about. Unless there’s an interview with developers and they’re willing to share what early drafts or ideas were. Which from my knowledge does happen very often.
Make sense that aliens are mostly Fairy types cause an old episode of Pokémon
Where they were trying to find aliens and the tracker pointed Clefairy, Jigglypuff and Togepi
Now they are Fairy type Pokémon
I was thinking the Ultra Squad from Sun an Moon 2 , being the alien humans.
It isn't a sequel; it's an enhanced version. Like emerald.

I mean, especially with AZ's Floette, I genuinely think it was supposed to be Florges.
I mean, it has a high BST & it's Sp.Def stat is crazy high.
The whole "Mega stones are parts of AZ's spaceship" thing is pretty similar to Z Crystals and how they were created when Necrozma first came to Alola.
If you think about it, all/most fairy types are either alien-like, or human food mimics.
I agree with most, but Jigglypuff, Granbull, Marill and Dedenne aren't really that alien to name a few.
Jigglypuff does evolve with a Moon Stone though which is interesting.

Its like they would've been Alien type at first but then they scrapped the alien focus they decided on the Fairy type we got and then gave that type to some preexisting Pokemon to tie it all in

As it stands, Dragon-type is the raw magic type while Fairy-type is still magic but by filtering the energy into a more controlled state (Draco Meteor VS Moonblast), letting the type hard counter raw magic.
I think the "spaceship pieces" that was supposed to be the megastones were reinvented in gen 7 as the Z crystals that end up being instead pieces of Ultra Necrozma.
Here's a prediction i have for legends Z-A: there's gonna be a 4th member of the legendary birds. In x and y,you can find one of the legendary birds,so why not?

Diantha being a Kaguya-like figure would be an interesting concept, like a foil to AZ.
On one hand, there is a man who trod the path of war and gained the kingdom peace through tragedy, cursing himself to walk forever across the land finding is own, and another a woman who wished to know more about the strange fair folk, whisked away to the moon, only to descend to her homeland once again a thousand years after, wishing to bridge relations between the now-known Fairy type and humans, a path of peace through knowledge and understanding.
It's a missed opportunity.
Yes, and she would be the X (female have xx) and him the y (male have xy)- and she’s also the moon and he is the sun. Their relationship is like an alchemical wedding of sun and moon. In alchemy it was believed that a mixture of gold and silver would make platinum. That would lead us into the Sinnoh remakes (platinum remakes) .
I love Fairy Types, almost all of the earlier gen Pokemon who had their type changed to Fairy (Snubbull, Gardevoir, Clefairy, etc) were already my favorites before Fairy type was even a thing lol 😅
If dragon and fairy were first envisioned as special types and fairy had a connection to outer space that would make dragon the primal type of planet earth. Which connects with the legends usually being dragons! Rayquaza the guardian of earths sky and zygarde the guardian of the land
I would say Dragon type would have a bigger role than that. When you use Camouflage in space (ORAS)it changes your type to dragon type and the three gods would keep the universe balanced are dragon types as well

Someone else said it, but Diantha not having a major role in XY could explain why. They probably didn't know what else to do with her character after they scrapped everything, so they just made her the champion. So she only popped up once.... maybe twice. And also I agree with the dragon thing. Before Unova, dragons were like legendary pokemon. Most were Pseudo Legends and then we had very few. It only made it more apparent when we got like 8 or 9 Dragon Legendary pokemon as well. So they were making Fairy to be another Legend like type and made it strong against Dragons.
Bro, it would've been so cool if Sycamore and Lysandre were one person, and it were to be a jekyll & hyde situation. It would be similar to the volo situation, but more tragic as Sycamore (good) would've died from Lysandre's (evil) actions.
Something feels a bit like aluminium hat. There are things that sound completely messed up or out of place, as much as I remember Fairy-type was introduced since Gen V's competitive scene was pretty tagged and stuck in a single context, with almost every team having a Dragon-type Pokémon, making it repetitive and always forcing you to use one too if you wanted to compete against them. And also, many types were almost just impossible to be good, such as Steel, Psychic, Poison and some other types, all due to being bad at attacking and/or defending (Steel was horrible as a attacker, and Psychic and Poison were metafforically not existent types).
The Japanese word “Sennin” (borrowed directly from the Chinese word “ShenXian”) can be translated as “Fairy”, not in the western sense, but as an “Immortal” godly figure representing goodness. If this is true for Fairy Types, you could say it is the direct antithesis of Dark-Types (AKA Evil-Types in Japanese).

i like the idea of the ultra beasts being just type monsters, that are place holders for an ultra version of a pokemon. this would explain the looker inclusion with it, and it being something that would be in a z or similar. then that also kinda explains the basic typing for the most of them, then things just seeming tweaked, then again it could just be rushed shotty work but who knows

I'm not breaking out my old game to check the details, but there already was some kind of clan system in Gen 4. Some NPC in Jubilife near the GTS let you name one of your own. I don't think they use the work 'clan' though, not sure what words they use.
We do have alien humans in Pokémon. The members of the Ultra Recon Squad are essentially alien people.
I would've preferred the more scientific alien ideas more than the mystical one they went with. Whilst obviously Pokémon has fantastical elements up to that point things felt more grounded in reality and it never felt right to me. Probably another reason I dislike x and y so much

XY story is the original story. There wasn't any scrapped story. The Fairy type pokemon we got in XY are the ones we were always meant to have.
Development causes changes over time.
It’s obvious that it wasn’t. Team Flare name was based on stars, and they wanted to destroy the world in order to claim it. The fairy type is similar to the ultra beasts in that outer space is a part of their concept. The keystones are meteorites. Rayquaza got a mega evolution to fight deoxys in space above Earth. Lunala and Solgaleo are extra dimensional creatures invading Earth. Enternatus fell to Earth in an asteroid.

The stuff with the Fairy type being aliens never made a lot of sense to me. The Fairy type seem to draw from Kami on Shinto religion as well as other fye creatures of European origin.
I think Fairy type is kind of a "spirit creature", "cryptid", or "otherworldly" placeholder. That's outside of Ghost, Dark, Psychic, and Dragon, which also all kind of coincide with spiritual creatures and beings. I think it's a general thing more than a specific thing, based upon which myths the Pokemon inspiration comes from rather than any one equal and specific trait. The UA-camr Lockstin & Gnoggin does a great job of explaining the lore behind the different types.
Your choice of words and the cadence of your narrative create a poetic flow that adds depth to the overall experience.
