YAMAHA Piano

The Dingle Skellig Hotel purchased a brand new piano in January. It is in the lounge. It is there for anyone to play. It was locked that time because the hotel was partially closed for the winter. U1 could be the model number. A 2024 model but the serial number is six years old. The factory must have made an error putting 2018 in the serial number. I heard the other piano was replaced because it was moved around too often and wouldn't stay in tune. I hear it has gone to a new home. I thought it held its tune well. Piano in a black finish. The front of the fall board doesn't fold. Instead has a keyhole. The top lid is hard to open and close. The last damper has a corner so the third string doesn't dampen properly. Not the best of a break point between the left and right. The left pedal didn't work because the top of its pole was out of the lever for pushing the hammers forward. I managed to put the top of the pole back into the lever without opening the piano. So now the left pedal works. It is most certainly an over-strung frame and an under-damper action. Tuned to concert pitch A440. Will need a slight fine tuning at its existing pitch.
