I guess the main difference is that Bandori tries to play stronger and more powerful voices, and in project sekai they just sing with their feelings, everything feels more calmy, like in a SEKAI
Also, the background music in Bandori is almost always recreated, usually with rock instrumentals (except in Pastel*Palettes, Hello, Happy World!, occasionally Poppin’ Party, and sometimes Morfonica’s covers). Although in a few cases, the instrumental of the Bandori cover sounds very similar to the original
Bandori mostly powerful in their instrumentals. They make and use their own unique style of composing the songs of each bands. As for Project Sekai. Most of them sang together, it creates this calming voice that i can't even explain
Yeah, since its bands in bandori i guess it makes sense but i think bandoris also have a lot of feelings put into it... (ik that maybe you didnt mean it didnt but qnyways)
Literally no, the only “powerful voices” in bandori are aiai, raychell and ayane. Btw Tomori’s va has more emotions in her voice than any pjsk character
my take on the main "difference" is that bandori is the type of music that would SLAP to be heard live, like at an actual show where they're playing their instruments. i think sekai's on the other hand is more "studio" music, with refinement rather than rawness. both are good! (on top of that i think it's why bandori girls have more energetic + louder voices, it's actually super hard to sing soft when you're tired! it's much easier to sing loudly)
They're so different but weirdly enough I can't even pick a favourite?? I love how powerful ras' version is but I also love how addictive niigo's version is 😭
As a very avid pjsk player I have to say, both covers of every song are SO GOOD like my jaw has dropped with a lot of the bandori covers bc they are so good. How about everyone is happy and hold hands and agrees what every cover is amazing in its own way and we all YIPPIEE
Bandori is definitely more unique in the sense that they aren't just vocal covers, but they remake the whole arrangement to a rock group to fit them, and I'd say most of them work better, I like the Deepsea Girl cover more, as well as God-ish and Alien Alien etc. But sometimes the Pjsk cover is just better like in Telecaster B boy or Dreamin Chu Chu, mainly because the vocal fits more
As someone who listens to Bandori and pjsk music on the daily, here are my two cents: The direction in song arrangement between the two games are apparent when you think about what both games market. Covers in Bandori is arguably why the series was able to take off. It cemented the whole ‘VAs playing in a live band’ the project had going. It’s also a way to showcase a bands particular sound which is something I really like about Bandori. And a bit off-base, but this is why I like to pay more attention to a song’s instrumental and not just the vocals. While occasionally pjsk will also change a songs arrangements, covers tend to remain faithful to the original in both instrumental and vocal direction to cater towards vocaloid fans and vocaloid’s rich history. Vocaloid is built off of the community and the creativity of its producers, and pjsk (at least the way I see it along with project DIVA & MIRAI) is a celebration of Vocaloid and its cultural impact. These different directions have their ups and downs. Bandori covers can enhance the sound of the original song with a band’s unique sound, if not at least a refreshing new sound to the formula. Covers can be hit or miss because perhaps the vocalist or their voice direction doesn’t quite fit or mesh well with the song. Same goes for instrumentation. It’s experimental and there’s bound to be some duds where the delivery didn’t quite land the way people want to. The band formula too may not be to everyone’s liking, with most covers being predominantly sung by the band’s lead vocalist. Pjsk covers having more vocalists allows for impressive vocal harmonies when done right as it can give songs more power. The fact that pjsk has male singers is something they have over bandori, having a better variety of vocalists in their songs. Sometimes, however, I feel the vocalists are held back by the limits of the original song, such that they don’t come out as powerful due to how the original song was tuned compared to what they’re musically capable of. Regardless, when it comes to whether you’d listen to one cover over another is personal preference, nothing to think too hard about. And for any reason too. I don’t like Afterglow’s cover of ‘Hated by life itself’ because of how much of a departure it is to the orignal song, but I *love* their ‘Night Sky Patrol’ for the same reason. I think I’ve rambled on enough so it’s about time I got to my comparisons of the Bandori & pjsk covers. I do wanna preface, I’m more biased to Bandori as that’s I game a started with back in 2019 (I also listen to a lot of Guilty Gear so I’m a bit of a J-rockhead). I’m hoping I can give a fair explanation for all these entries. - 1. Children Record: Despite what I’ve just prefaced, I want to give this song to *Vivid Bad Squad* . The song itself is already amazing (J-rockhead) and all of vbs are incredible vocalists. Afterglow’s cover is quite interesting, I really like Ran’s falsettos, but I much prefer the high energy from vbs’ cover, especially when It comes to the chorus. 2. Ego Rock: Both covers are quite fun but this one goes to *Wonderlands x Showtime* . I love the line distribution between the wxs cast, and I’m more of a fan of pjsk’s instrumental to hhw’s. 3. Hibana - Reloaded -: I’ve got a bias for this, but it’s not towards Roselia. This song is what made me really appreciate Ichika (CV. Nogachi Ruriko) as a vocalist and the duet with Miku is phenomenal. This cover is what got me to listen to Leo/need more and they’re now my favourite unit. Credit where credit is due, Roselia’s cover is just as amazing. I love the addition of the strings in typical Roselia fashion, and Yukina’s (CV. Aiba Aina) performance is just as incredible. But I love this cover for Ichika so this song goes to *Leo/need* . 4. Villain: This one’s tough. On one hand, Afterglow’s rock rendition of this song slaps, and Ran’s vocals work unexpectedly well too. She really made it her own song. But on the other hand, MizuMafu’s vocals fit this song to a T, from both the songs instrumental and theming. Screw it, I’m gonna give it to *both* of them. 5: Melancholic: This is one is a very close tie but I think I’m gonna give it to *Poppin’Party* . There’s nothing wrong with MMJ’s cover, actually both covers sound quite similar, but I love how poppy and lively Kasumi’s (CV. Aimi) vocals are. Don’t know, maybe it’s first-heard basis. Feel free to argue with me on this one. 6. God-ish: I have not listened to this song beforehand, or at least not that much. Bro, that small snippet of *RAS’* cover blew me away. Bassline? Slaps. Synths? Electrifying. LAYER (CV. Raychell)? BEAUTIFUL! Now there’s a point to be made that the heavy rock and electronic sound goes against the integrity of PinocchioP’s arrangement. Fair. But BROOOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS COVER FUCKS. 7. Telecaster B-boy: So I just read the lyrics of this song for the first time, bro this song is pro-trans? Didn’t know surii was chill like that. Anyways, this song goes to *Wonderlands x Showtime* . Afterglow’s rock cover is definitely interesting but not my favourite performance from them. Plus, the song felt like it was made for five people with how wxs sung it. Those guys are naturals. 8. Kyoufuu All Back: This song is goofy and I don’t think one particularly out performs the other. *Both* win. 9. Dreamin Chuchu: Now I don’t know how to clearly explain this but hear me out. The thing with Pasupare (ft.Kanon)’s cover is that it gives me too much diabetes that it could kill me. *MMJ’s* cover is like just right with the diabetes. 10. Otome Dissection: Another song I haven’t listened to much, though I think I should. This one is also tough for the same reason as Villain. Yukina’s vocal game is on point but at the same time, MizuMafu. Both instrumentals are snazzy too. I think I’m gonna give it to *Roselia* because not only can Yukina hit those high notes like a boss, those fuck ass jazz strings during the chorus is reminding me of Persona 5. Brownie points, bass slapping also on point👌. 11. Non-breath oblige: Like with God-ish, I wasn’t really a fan of this song. Then *MyGo* happened. The slow rock beat, the distorted chords but most importantly the clean guitar counter-melody to Tomori’s vocals 😩. Takamatsu Tomori (CV: Youmiya Hina) when I get you. The sense of desperation I feel from her voice and those high notes were immaculate. 12. Kyu-kurarin: Despite what others say, I want to give this song to *Hello, Happy World!* . Yes, the song sounds too happy for what it’s about, but ‘I’ find it funnily ironic how energetic it is. Like I think this cover has unfortunately physically altered how I listen to this song. Thing is, I can’t find any faults with MMJ’s cover other than, idk, MEIKO singing too long but that’s just being unfair. 13. Bocca della Verità: Can someone tell what this song is about? Like, as someone who often falls to low self-esteem, hearing a song go ‘I hate you’ be putting me off because like man what did I even do 😭. As for the covers, I’m just gonna say *RAS* . Same situation with God-dish where LAYER’s vocals and the electronic metal arrangement blows this song out of the park. I know this sounds like I’m copping out but I do not have strong feelings for this song. 14. Yoidore Shirazu: This song is so right up *Vivid Bad Squad’s* alley it’s unfair. I want to give credit to Roselia’s cover as it’s quite a departure from their usual style. Like, I don’t usually hear such clean strumming from the guitar in Roselia songs. And hey, they nailed that cover. But you look me straight in the face that you’d rate vbs’s harmonies below that. Slayed, they have. That is all. 15. Bad Apple!!: This one’s interesting as both Roselia and Nightcord have unique takes on this monumental song. I can’t describe well other than do you like rock or edm with a sick ass piano… now that I’ve laid it out as that, I’m gonna give this to *Nightcord* . That piano is really good. 16. Tokyo Teddy Bear: Believe it or not, I’ve never listened to this before too and I think that’s a sin. Once again, this one’s tough because I’ve got no preference for this song. If I were to compare, what I like in Roselia’s cover over Leo/need is the instrumentation. I think the strings adds a lot to this piece, but not so much that I’d prefer Roselia’s over Leo/need. In the same vain, the line distribution in Leo/need’s cover creates a lot of interest to the song’s benefit over Yukina’s solo performance, but Yukina didn’t do a bad job either. Imma leave this up in the air and so *both* win because I’d be debating over myself for hours otherwise. 17. QUEEN: I’m with others on this that Colopale should’ve changed the key for EmuNene’s cover. I’m an Emu vocalist defender, my girl sounds beautiful, but imagine if colopale lowered the key like in Morfonica’s cover. It would’ve been perfect 👌. So in case you haven’t guessed, I’m giving this song to *Morfonica* . Not only does the lower key complement Mashiro’s (CV: Shindou Amane) voice, the violin counter-melody just ties everything together. Solid. So overall, Bandori: 7 PJSK: 7 Both: 3 Did not expect to end on a tie! Kind of poetic. Again, to you who read through this whole thing, feel free to argue against any of my points because I was admittedly slack with some of these songs. Both games have good songs and you can listen to whatever you want to so don’t let anyone who says otherwise deter you. Have a good rest of your day!
@@Nahida-saving tldr; Music comes down to preference for all manner of reasons. It's important to respect other's opinions so we as a community can engage in friendly discussion in orderly conduct. My scoring ended up in a tie. I gave seven songs to Bandori, seven to pjsk, and three songs I made a tie.
i wish bandori would release the instrumentals they use for their covers. they seem to be used for alto/deeper voices and that’d really help me with covers 😞
Personally, you can feel the "rawness" in Bandori's covers because they only require one or two vocals singing the song whereas in PJSK the arrangement makes it sound so compressed at times making it sound a bit off in a way. Either way, I love both games!
my jaw dropped at most of these bandori covers like what?? the arrangements and vocals are just soo good💥 0:30, 1:30 (😵), 2:30 (DAMN ive been replaying this for like 5 mins help im stuck), 3:30, 4:30, 5:00 (DAMN), 6:00
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BANDORI AND PROSEKA. LIKE, IT IS STUPID HOW MUCH I LOVE THE BOTH OF THEM. ( I’m a bandori OG(/hj), been playing since the ojamajo doremi collab )
TWINNINGGG i love both of them sm, both have so much depth to their music and i fear people only focus or hate on one aspect but ignore the other good ones 😢 i've played since ojamajo doremi too omg such old times 💔
IT MAKES ME SO SAD TO SEE PPL HATE ON BOTH GAMES I LOVE THEM SO MUCH 😭😭 they both have well written characters and amazing music. i also main bandori but i still love both games a lot
The thing I love about the bandori covers is that the music arrangements are put to where they try to match the song to that person singing it and bring a new spin to the original song. Not to mention that it’s just the va singing (and I know that sekai is based on the vocaloids so of course they’re gonna be in the song but you would think the tuning would be better in some of them). There’s a lot of covers that I love in sekai, but the tuning sometimes doesn’t fit with the va
ok so i strongly believe we will get emunene separate alts for queen. queen was obviously added to mirror king, which has riks alts already. why not give them alts to mirror king even more? edit: this is funnier with the kaito king anabo
the main thing I noticed is that Bandori’s vocals are all either very strong or super cute. While pjsk is more diverse, only one character can really match Bandori’s strength there is no better or worse, just general tastes: if you like strong vocals, go to Bandori, if you prefer diverse vocals, go to pjsk, you can go to both if you have enough storage I personally prefer pjsk since I like the diversity, but I can understand why some would prefer bandori :)
@@Half-Asleep-i1z I agree with this altho I would like to add ena/mafuyu/ichika, they are more on the wider range while mizuki is also one but more on the powerful side
i cant help but feel like only mafuyu is able to fully match bandori’s energy anyway, what i like about mygo’s cover of non breath oblige, it sounds like theyre still fighting & struggling for their will to breath. nightcord’s is more peaceful & serene, like they’ve already given up.
5:32 i had a hard time choosing which i liked more Hello happy world feels full and bright. I really like it... But more more jump feels more melancholic and in character with the original songs
I don't like hello happy cover. It feels so happy and bright for a song like kyu kurarin. I mean it supposed to a song about depression, why Kokoro sing it like it's a very positive and happy song. The arangement are to much for me, it feels like the original arangement but with more disonances. So my ear can't really enjoy the combination of Kokoro sing so bright and the disonances of the arangement. I perfer MMJ cover. No hate to both game.
i love both covers so much!! bandori's arrangement for kyu-kurarin's is so good and mmj's vocals are so soothing. if u told me to pick one i'd choose to die. 😭😭😭 i feel like they both sound very dream-like in their own ways (especially if you listen to both full vers...begging for you guys to listen to both full vers...) i also love the original ver a lot so that's probably why i love both of these covers 😅
@@circling-j9ci like the hhw one the most because Kokoro's VA sound happy and its like it says in the song, shes trying to be happy while shes sad. (Thats what I get from the song btw idk how to explaij in words....) I think the instrumentals are also very melancholic and kinda scary in the bandori one too so i relaly like this one
As someone who adores both games, I honestly think it depends on which song is being covered and the direction. Bandori’s arrangements and intense vocal delivery lends itself so so so nicely to songs like God-ish and Queen. That being said, sometimes the direction falls flat like in Ego Rock, where it lowkey sounds like Kokoro was holding back her energy, and in Shoujorei which was too upbeat for the song and the vocals were kinda “shouty” and in your face. The same could be said about puroseka though. I adore the suave vocals in Yoidore Shirazu and the direction used for their Non-Breath Oblige cover where it sounds delicate and nostalgic, yet in covers like Queen Emu’s voice doesn’t really lend well to the song. Same thing in Melancholic and Tokyo Teddy Bear, where the mixing and tuning are kinda off plus the fact that Tokyo Teddy Bear lacks the intensity needed. TL;DR Idk it just depends on what the song needs and both of the games have different strong suits in terms of vocals, arrangements, and mixing and these strengths pop out depending on the song but I love both of these games they’re both super dear to me
THANK YOUUUUU❤❤❤on the whole I prefer Bandori as the band set up and usually one main vocalist is more my thing ~ but both are amazing! It’s strange because I love Bandori covers more but I’m a huge vocaloid fan … 5:02 MASTERPIECE!!!!! Tomori is amazing and her voice actor is amazing and the song suits her SO WELL !!!!!
Children Record (Re:boot) -VBS (Pjsk) +Ran’s voice sounds like LAYER’s, It’s powerful but I like Pjsk’s more, they went so HARD WHAT Ego Rock -Wonderland x Showtime (Pjsk) +This was a 1v5 and I literally was having a hard time to choose. Kokoro’s voice is so light and full of joy but I like WxS more. THE LEN’s PICTURE LOVE IT OMGOGMG Hibana -Reloaded: -Roselia (Bandori) +The instruments, the “na na na na na” THEY ARE ALL PERFECT Villain: -Nightcord at 25:00 +Mizumafu must be the best duo in Nightcord, I love Ran’s lower pitch so much😭 Melancholic: -Kasumi (Poppin’ Party) +Luv the expressive in Aimin’s voice, she sounds so light like a little angel baby God-ish -CHU2 and LAYER (RAS) +THE BACKGROUND INSTRUMENTS? LAYER’S HIGH PITCH? They are all perfect omg Telecaster B-boy -Wonderland x Showtime +Love the chill in Pjsk’s Kyoufuu All Back -Wonderland x Showtime +I love how Nene and Emu’s voices like mixing all together Dreamin Chuchu -Pastel Palettes +Luv theri delivery and arrangements and pjsk’s is so good too! Otome Kaibou -Both +THEIR ARRANGEMENTS ARE SO GOOD, MINATO-SAMA AND MIZUMAFU’S ARRANGEMENTS ALWAYS MAKE ME HAVE A HARD TIME TO CHOOSE- Non-breath Oblige: -MyGO!!!!! +Tomori luv your voice so much, angelic and airy. QUEEN: -Mashiro Kurata(Morfonica) +Love the aggression in Mashiro’s and Rui’s Violin??!! Super duper majestic😭🔛🔝
We really are going back to "Both are fine, people have preferences", "Bandori this, PJSK that", and "I love this so much" comment section moment again.
30: ViVid Bad Squad 31: Wonderland X Showtime 32: Leo/Need 33. Afterglow and 25-ji 34. Poppin' Party 35. Raise a Suilen (No doubt) 36. Whenever, I come across these videos, I just get hit with nostalgia…. (Bandori player, 3 years?, before I lost my save and a year later SEKAI showed up) Now I want to re-download Bandori again and experience the best of both worlds! 😅
Children's Record: VBS (they went so hard on the vocals WTF) Ego Rock: HHW Kokoro (this was so hard cause I love both covers so much and it's a 1v5 but I love the lower pitch so much I'm so sorry 😭) Hibana -Reloaded-: Roselia Yukina (the INSTRUMENTAL? THE ''na na na''? HJFJNVHFBHDB YUKINA ILYSM I also love Ichika's delivery on her cover too) Villain: Nightcord Mizuki and Mafuyu: (mizumafu and mizuena duos are so cracked also I love how Mafuyu subverted my expectations with the note on 1:54 it scratched my brain in a good way) Melancholic: Poppin'Party Kasumi: (lovee how expressive Aimi's voice is and the arrangement) God-ish: RAS LAYER and CHU2: (love the upbeat arrangement and LAYER's highnotes stratch my brain in a good way) Telecaster B-Boy: WxS (it's a 1v5 and I love the more chill vibe of WxS's cover) Kyoufuu All Back: WxS (love the harmonies and Nene and Emu so cute) Dreamin ChuChu: PastelPalettes (love their delivery and the arrangement) Otome Kaibou: Roselia Yukina (the arrangement actually had me gagged first listen and I LOVEE Yukina's delivery) Non-breath Oblige: Nightcord (I love the unique take from MyGO!!! and haven't heard much of their songs but I love her voice but I like the graceful approach from Nightcord and I love the instrumental it's so airy and gives everything an ethereal feel) Kyu-kurain: HHW Kokoro (I love the arrangement it's so colorful and full) Bocca Della Verita: Nightcord Mizuki and Mafuyu (plss this was actually so hard cause the arrangement for RAS's cover was so good WTF and I love how she plays around with her voice and her post-chorus part it scratches my brain but Mafuyu's delivery in this cover also scratches my brain it's so drastically different from her voice in other songs like Usseewa) Yoidore Shirazu: VBS (yukina ilysm but I also love this cover sm and TOYA AND KOHANE I SEE YOU GO OFFFF they popped off on this song sorry Yukina 😔😔) Bad Apple!!: Roselia Yukina (roselia bad apple cover will always be so iconic for me I just love the vibe and Yukina's voice is so graceful in this song but I love the Nightcord arrangement tho it was a nice surprise) Tokyo Teddy Bear: Roselia Yukina (I love the power she adds to the little high notes it has a punch to it) QUEEN: Morfonica Mashiro (plss I love the arrangement like THE VIOLIN?? omhcdbjvcbhdebvcehb also I love Mashiro's voice in this song she improved so much I love the little aggression in her delivery)
i'm a big fan of both bandori and proseka, so here's my opinion for each cover: children record - vbs, i like how their voices harmonize ego rock - wxs, just because it feels more fitting to have a group sing it instead hibana reloaded - love both but roselia absolutely clears, yukina's voice is so powerful villain - afterglow oml ran's voice is so fitting and the inst is godly melancholic - popipa, both are pretty similar but i like the bandori inst more god-ish - ras (no explanation needed) telecaster b-boy - very hard to choose but i think i slightly prefer afterglow kyoufuu all back - quite similar so both i guess dreamin chuchu - mmj, prefer the vocal variety instead of just cuteness overload otome kaibou - roselia. yukina's voice is too amazing non-breath oblige - mygo wow tomori's voice is breathtaking (pun intended) kyuukurarin - mmj, because i feel like their softer voices work a lot better for this song bocca della verità - ras the power in the vocals and the inst is crazy yoidore shirazu - roselia, not sure why but i just can't get myself to like the vbs cover bad apple - roselia tokyo teddy bear - can't pick so both queen - morfonica, the violin is a really nice touch and really makes the song so much nicer. mashiro's voice is a perfect fit too. tbh, i feel like emu's voice is a bit too high pitched here, so i don't like the pjsk cover that much so in summary, bandori: 11 proseka: 4 tie: 2 i think i just like band music a lot lmao. both bandori and proseka have their strong suits and excel in different ways
inserting my thoughts as well since I got into bandori back in global release on EN (I was a little late to proseka, only started late last year). Instrumentation in bandori is better than proseka, though that's by design since the intent is that bandori (specifically RAS, Roselia, Poppin Party, Morfonica) all have live concerts with instruments being played, whereas the focus on proseka seems to be vocals and harmonization. proseka also benefits from having male vocalists as well for more nuanced vocals. I am 100% biased for Roselia, but I will mention that Raychell (Vo. for RAS) is an absolute force of nature. The band that RAS is used to be the background instrumentation band for when pasupare/afterglow sing at concerts (since those groups, unlike Roselia/Poppin Party, don't play their own instruments) - they're the real deal, musicians first, seiyuu second. If you watch any of the clips of concerts for RAS, you'll understand - the amount of energy they bring to a performance is on a different level (and I'm a Roselia bias through and through) bandori definitely leans into more powerful vocals, though that is also a side effect of this showcase. Roselia, RAS, and Afterglow all lean heavy into strong punchy vocals - another comment here basically said bandori vocals were either all punchy and powerful, or cute. Appreciate both, no need to distinguish which one is "better" because in the end, music is pretty subjective.
WHAT COVER I PREFER AS A PJSK PLAYER AND SOMETIMES BANDORI PLAYER BCUZ YES!!! Children Record - Prsk ver Ego Rock - Prsk ver Hibana -Reloaded- - Bandori ver Villain - Prsk ver Melancholic - Bandori ver God-ish - Bandori ver (LOVE THIS SONG AAAA) Telecaster B-boy - Prsk ver Kyoufuu All Back - Bandori ver Dreamin Chuchu - Bandori ver Otome Kaibou - Bandori ver Non-breath oblige - Bandori ver Kyu-kurarin - Bandori ver Bocca della Verita - Bandori ver Yoidore Shirazu - Prsk ver Bad Apple!! - Prsk ver Tokyo Teddy Bear - Bandori ver QUEEN - Bandori ver
I guess in Bandori they must make more powerful voices since all the groups are "Bands", so they must try to make powerful voices that accompany the instruments, because being a band, they must give equal importance to the instruments as to the voices, unlike proseka where only Leo / Need is a band, from then on all the other groups only specialize in singing, so they only give priority to the characterization of each character An example would be "God-Ish", I really prefer the Sekai version a thousand times, when listening to it and being able to say "yes, this is a cover of God-ish", unlike the bandori version where although it still sounds good, it actually feels like a different song
i never played bandori but i think it’s nice :3 the difference with bandori and pjsk is that im guessing bandori makes their own replicate of the instrumental for the song they wanna cover while for pjsk they take the instrumental from the song they want to make a cover on. idk how to explain it.
I prefer bandori mostly because I love the strong and very recognizable voices and band arrangements. But Pjsekai is usually better for the mostly calm and cuter songs. But Pjsekai doesn't have tomoe sooo.......
I started playing bandori and prsk around the same time (bandori late 2022 prsk early 2021) and I have to say I prefer bandori versions! They’re covers are genuinely always so good. I think for me bandori puts more emotion. Both are incredible tho!!
i feel like bandori focuses more on vocals, sometimes their background over powers their voicewhile pjsk is alright its like balanced, overall both are good
As Bandori and Project sekai player, both games have their own weakness and greatness, for me I like bang dream because the instrumental they need to play, it what inspired me to like playing music, for Project sekai their voice is just so good, in the end both games is the best rhythm gacha game imo Edit: I also loves Tomori from MyGo!!!!! voice so much XD
I LIKE BOTH bc i love both games and all the vas are so talented I kinda prefer bandori a bit tho bc i REALLY like the band-ish feel of it (ofc since its bands) i love when songs are like that
it’s time to give my (unwarranted) opinions again!! 30. children record - proseka. i love the contrast between anhane+akitoya’s voices, as well as the higher key. (however, i also acknowledge that aglow is covering the reboot, so the covers are bound to sound super different) 31. ego rock - proseka. i prefer the higher key, og instrumentals, and overall vocals in wxs’ cover. plus, len is tuned suuuper good (which isn’t surprising, he’s usually the ONLY vocaloid they’re consistently good at tuning) 32. hibana - proseka. roselia’s instrumentals are always super hard-hitting, but in this instance, i prefer deco*27’s lighter ones. plus, miku is tuned well here (rare sega w!) 33. villain - proseka. i usually love aglow’s renditions of so gs, but something about teniwoha’s use of “odd” instrumentals is so good that his sounds sound off WITHOUT them. plus, i like how mizumafu are singing softer than ran, simply because of the message of the song. (also, trans-coded character singing trans song lol) 34. melancholic - bandori. i like how energetic and upbeat kasumi sounds here, which kinda makes mmj’s cover sound bland compared to it. plus, the high notes (which i think is the keyboard? if so, common arisa w) compliments kasumi’s voice super well 35. god-ish - bandori. oh my lord i love layer so much it’s actually insane. usually, i prefer tamer god-ish covers because it makes the last chorus slap especially hard when all of the drums and instruments kick in. but ras always does so well with rock-type songs and i love it. plus, niigo’s cover is RUINED by miku’s presence. the cover would literally be so good if it weren’t for miku; she clashes so hard with the girls’ vocals, and the mixing is so bad. this was even proved because of mizumafu’s alt vocals that came out-they sound amazing! it’s literally miku that brings the whole cover down 36. telecaster b-boy - proseka. ran sounds a tad too upbeat when singing this song, considering the more somber lyrics. i prefer the lower key in wxs’ cover, as well as the more lowkey instrumentals. (also, common w len tuning as per usual) 37. kyofuu all-black - proseka. it’s super close, but it all comes down to my preference of singing. kokoro tends to sing super “bouncy” (for lack of a better term) which helps her a lot (ex: alien alien, darling dance)-but in some cases, like here, it’s totally offputting from the song itself. 38. dreamin chuchu - proseka. idk why, but the tempo in pasupare’s cover sounds weird to me 😭 like, the cover’s rlly good, but something about the chorus sounds off-putting to me 39. otome dissection - bandori. this was also super hard to settle on, but in the end, i love how powerful yukina sounds here. the only nitpick with niigo’s cover that i have is how jarring the switch to miku’s voice sounds sometimes, but even that isn’t a big deal to me. 40. non-breath oblige - proseka. i love tomori sm, she’s my favorite vocalist-but i prefer the softer angle that niigo goes for. it makes the song sound very personal, as if they’re singing the lyrics to me specifically, and i just love it. 41. kyu-kurarin - proseka. the drums in hhw’s cover is entirely too loud for this song imo, and it overshadows what’s supposed to be the high-pitched keyboard, which is what brings the whole song together imo. 42. bocca della vérita - bandori. ras’ instrumentals+layer’s amazing vocals strike again!! this is another hard one to choose between, but it came down to how well layer’s voice goes with the instrumentals. 43. yoidore shirazu - proseka. as much as i love yukina’s voice as a whole, there’s something that tends to make or break roselia’s covers for me: yukina sings very sharply. it usually helps her case for the more fast-paced or technically difficult songs where she needs to switch between high and low notes (fire bird, charles) but in this case, it doesn’t. i love the slur/slide of vbs’ voices (kohane specifically does it rlly well) because it fits the song and instrumentals sooo well. 44. bad apple - proseka. to be completely honest, this is a mix of my bias towards both marasy and kanade’s vocals specifically. marasy’s use of the piano is something that i absolutely adore (esp because i used to play piano), and i’ve been a fan of tomori (kanade’s va) since she played setsuna in love live. aka, most covers with kanade is bound to be preferred by me simply because of my kanade-bias 45. tokyo teddy bear - bandori. l/n has a rlly bad track record when it comes to vocaloid tuning+mixing, as well as line distribution. i’m not rlly talking about distribution between the four members, but rather how they tend to give the vocaloid WAY too many lines. rin’s mixing in l/n’s cover sounds off, and she has way too many lines imo. 46. queen - bandori. mashiro’s voice just sounds so good with this song, as well as rui’s violin in the background agshhfhshsc it’s literally so prettyyyyy. also, coming back to what i said with yukina for the yoidore shirazu cover-i feel this way with emu’s voice a lot. in wxs’ cover, i rlly enjoy how nene sounds-but emu sounds so off-putting because she doesn’t slide between notes like nene+mashiro do. i personally feel like this type of song requires the slide between notes, which emu doesn’t rlly do, so she just sounds out of place. plus, sega doesn’t know how to tune meiko at all, and idek why she’s in this cover in the first place. anyways, all this to say, both games are rlly good and all of the voice actors are incredibly talented, so don’t go hating on either game because that’s stupid!!!
honestly as a pjsk player I really prefer bandori😭 ( I tried playing bandori but I can never get the note timing right :( ) the vocals are always really good and the arrangements are fucking insane. I love listening to mygo's songs, I even really like the art direction in bandori.
I like Bandori's songs better because it still sounds a bit weird to hear Vocaloid voices with real voices. In the end it's a matter of personal taste.
@@vamprirocompletely agree
my take on the main "difference" is that bandori is the type of music that would SLAP to be heard live, like at an actual show where they're playing their instruments. i think sekai's on the other hand is more "studio" music, with refinement rather than rawness. both are good!
(on top of that i think it's why bandori girls have more energetic + louder voices, it's actually super hard to sing soft when you're tired! it's much easier to sing loudly)

No way its almost like....bandori has actual bands in it?

Bandori is definitely more unique in the sense that they aren't just vocal covers, but they remake the whole arrangement to a rock group to fit them, and I'd say most of them work better, I like the Deepsea Girl cover more, as well as God-ish and Alien Alien etc. But sometimes the Pjsk cover is just better like in Telecaster B boy or Dreamin Chu Chu, mainly because the vocal fits more

As someone who listens to Bandori and pjsk music on the daily, here are my two cents:
The direction in song arrangement between the two games are apparent when you think about what both games market.
-
Solid.
So overall,
Bandori: 7
PJSK: 7
Both: 3
Did not expect to end on a tie! Kind of poetic. Again, to you who read through this whole thing, feel free to argue against any of my points because I was admittedly slack with some of these songs. Both games have good songs and you can listen to whatever you want to so don’t let anyone who says otherwise deter you.
Have a good rest of your day!

i wish bandori would release the instrumentals they use for their covers. they seem to be used for alto/deeper voices and that’d really help me with covers 😞
Personally, you can feel the "rawness" in Bandori's covers because they only require one or two vocals singing the song whereas in PJSK the arrangement makes it sound so compressed at times making it sound a bit off in a way. Either way, I love both games!

TL;DR
Idk it just depends on what the song needs and both of the games have different strong suits in terms of vocals, arrangements, and mixing and these strengths pop out depending on the song but I love both of these games they’re both super dear to me
i yapped too hard in this one, i fear

bandori vocals and covers will forever be my favourites
Yukina & LAYER supremacy!!
We really are going back to "Both are fine, people have preferences", "Bandori this, PJSK that", and "I love this so much" comment section moment again.
Both Hibanas are good but I prefer Sekai's version because of the good Miku tuning.
I WISH THE SEKAI VERSION WAS A ICHIKA ONLY COVER
@@IrlShinonomeEnaactually there's a full alt vocal of Ichika's Hibana! You can find it on the fandom wiki

i love the instrumentals for the bandori songs so much🥲🥲
I love bandori covers more, they have vocalists with different tones, styles and their arrangements is pretty good. It feels more lively
as a fan of both, this is an amazing video and i appreciate you making this
I like how PJSK incorporates the vocaloids into the songs

I dont play bandori but wow dreamin chuchu definitely suited thst vocalist! I love miku and all but wow wow wow the this onr slapped
I just started playing bandori and i really like their covers. But prosekai also has amazing covers, so my picks were a mix of both.
Whenever, I come across these videos, I just get hit with nostalgia…. (Bandori player, 3 years?, before I lost my save and a year later SEKAI showed up) Now I want to re-download Bandori again and experience the best of both worlds! 😅
Children's Record: VBS (they went so hard on the vocals WTF)
Ego Rock: HHW Kokoro (this was so hard cause I love both covers so much and it's a 1v5 but I love the lower pitch so much I'm so sorry 😭)
Hibana -Reloaded-: Roselia Yukina (the INSTRUMENTAL? THE ''na na na''? HJFJNVHFBHDB YUKINA ILYSM I also love Ichika's delivery on her cover too)
Villain: Nightcord Mizuki and Mafuyu: (mizumafu and mizuena duos are so cracked also I love how Mafuyu subverted my expectations with the note on 1:54 it scratched my brain in a good way)
Melancholic: Poppin'Party Kasumi: (lovee how expressive Aimi's voice is and the arrangement)
God-ish: RAS LAYER and CHU2: (love the upbeat arrangement and LAYER's highnotes stratch my brain in a good way)
Telecaster B-Boy: WxS (it's a 1v5 and I love the more chill vibe of WxS's cover)
Kyoufuu All Back: WxS (love the harmonies and Nene and Emu so cute)
Dreamin ChuChu: PastelPalettes (love their delivery and the arrangement)
Otome Kaibou: Roselia Yukina (the arrangement actually had me gagged first listen and I LOVEE Yukina's delivery)
Non-breath Oblige: Nightcord (I love the unique take from MyGO!!! and haven't heard much of their songs but I love her voice but I like the graceful approach from Nightcord and I love the instrumental it's so airy and gives everything an ethereal feel)
Kyu-kurain: HHW Kokoro (I love the arrangement it's so colorful and full)
Bocca Della Verita: Nightcord Mizuki and Mafuyu (plss this was actually so hard cause the arrangement for RAS's cover was so good WTF and I love how she plays around with her voice and her post-chorus part it scratches my brain but Mafuyu's delivery in this cover also scratches my brain it's so drastically different from her voice in other songs like Usseewa)
Yoidore Shirazu: VBS (yukina ilysm but I also love this cover sm and TOYA AND KOHANE I SEE YOU GO OFFFF they popped off on this song sorry Yukina 😔😔)
Bad Apple!!: Roselia Yukina (roselia bad apple cover will always be so iconic for me I just love the vibe and Yukina's voice is so graceful in this song but I love the Nightcord arrangement tho it was a nice surprise)
Tokyo Teddy Bear: Roselia Yukina (I love the power she adds to the little high notes it has a punch to it)
QUEEN: Morfonica Mashiro (plss I love the arrangement like THE VIOLIN?? omhcdbjvcbhdebvcehb also I love Mashiro's voice in this song she improved so much I love the little aggression in her delivery)
w take ngl and i love how respectful you are while ranking each cover ❤
just a hunch do yoy like roselia
@@noodleislost omg how did you know?!?? 😲
@@Akira-ck3dy just a hunch
This is such a good rating
i will pick bandori's cover song any day
i'm a big fan of both bandori and proseka, so here's my opinion for each cover:
children record - vbs, i like how their voices harmonize
ego rock - wxs, just because it feels more fitting to have a group sing it instead
hibana reloaded - love both but roselia absolutely clears, yukina's voice is so powerful
villain - afterglow oml ran's voice is so fitting and the inst is godly
melancholic - popipa, both are pretty similar but i like the bandori inst more
god-ish - ras (no explanation needed)
telecaster b-boy - very hard to choose but i think i slightly prefer afterglow
kyoufuu all back - quite similar so both i guess
dreamin chuchu - mmj, prefer the vocal variety instead of just cuteness overload
otome kaibou - roselia. yukina's voice is too amazing
non-breath oblige - mygo wow tomori's voice is breathtaking (pun intended)
kyuukurarin - mmj, because i feel like their softer voices work a lot better for this song
bocca della verità - ras the power in the vocals and the inst is crazy
yoidore shirazu - roselia, not sure why but i just can't get myself to like the vbs cover
bad apple - roselia
tokyo teddy bear - can't pick so both
queen - morfonica, the violin is a really nice touch and really makes the song so much nicer. mashiro's voice is a perfect fit too. tbh, i feel like emu's voice is a bit too high pitched here, so i don't like the pjsk cover that much
so in summary,
bandori: 11
proseka: 4
tie: 2
i think i just like band music a lot lmao. both bandori and proseka have their strong suits and excel in different ways
Seeing this video made me do the 1000 yard stare after remembering the war between bandori and prjsk fans on the last comparison video lmao
THE BANDORI GOD-ISH OH GOD
OMG LOOK GOD-ISH SO VERY VERY GOODDDDD IN BANDORI, OMG I LIKE ITT!!!
大勢と一人っていうボーカルの多さでも結構印象変わるよね、バンドリ派。
inserting my thoughts as well since I got into bandori back in global release on EN (I was a little late to proseka, only started late last year).
If you watch any of the clips of concerts for RAS, you'll understand - the amount of energy they bring to a performance is on a different level (and I'm a Roselia bias through and through)
bandori definitely leans into more powerful vocals, though that is also a side effect of this showcase. Roselia, RAS, and Afterglow all lean heavy into strong punchy vocals - another comment here basically said bandori vocals were either all punchy and powerful, or cute.
Appreciate both, no need to distinguish which one is "better" because in the end, music is pretty subjective.
I will always love Roselia’s cover of Bad Apple 🫶
The Nightcord version sounds very nice as well though
i like the bang dream more because it feels like they make the song unique to them rather than just copying it note for note
5:19 it’s really is one of their best cover
I LOVE the new Pjsk QUEEN cover but a Nene alt and MEIKO alt would be godly
I LOVE HOW TOMORI SING NON BREATH SOLO❤❤❤❤
Fr it gave me chills when listening to it for the first time
YEAH!!!
For the first song bandori used the reboot ver of it so thats another reason why it might sound very different

non breath oblige my go is so good tho
I guess in Bandori they must make more powerful voices since all the groups are "Bands", so they must try to make powerful voices that accompany the instruments, because being a band, they must give equal importance to the instruments as to the voices, unlike proseka where only Leo / Need is a band, from then on all the other groups only specialize in singing, so they only give priority to the characterization of each character
An example would be "God-Ish", I really prefer the Sekai version a thousand times, when listening to it and being able to say "yes, this is a cover of God-ish", unlike the bandori version where although it still sounds good, it actually feels like a different song
i never played bandori but i think it’s nice :3 the difference with bandori and pjsk is that im guessing bandori makes their own replicate of the instrumental for the song they wanna cover while for pjsk they take the instrumental from the song they want to make a cover on. idk how to explain it.

3:40 both are great i fear
what makes the covers from both games unique is that they follow a specific type of theme for their own game
1:14 ICHIKA WORLD DOMIANTION‼️‼️‼️
guys imagine the bandori instumental with the pjsk vocals (would that go good)
i feel like bandori focuses more on vocals, sometimes their background over powers their voicewhile pjsk is alright its like balanced, overall both are good
ガルパのアレンジの仕方だいすき
Bandori ate so much
MASHIRO AND MONICA'S QUEENNNN IS SKWOQKQKQ
bandori bocca della verita is so good what?
Any of these can be debated, but NOTHINGGGGG will beat Mygo's Non-breath oblige cover. Tomori's vocals needs to be injected in my viens.
i love the bandori cover instrumentals!!! and i kinda prefer bandori covers to pjsk, sorry pjsk fans i'm not really a huge pjsk fan anymore
to be honest, pjsk covers are more my style but im sorry, RAS and SOME roselia covers clocked pjsk
Yes!! Roseila's vocals are way too good
I play Bandori and Proseka and I love basically all of these 👏
As Bandori and Project sekai player, both games have their own weakness and greatness, for me I like bang dream because the instrumental they need to play, it what inspired me to like playing music, for Project sekai their voice is just so good, in the end both games is the best rhythm gacha game imo
Edit: I also loves Tomori from MyGo!!!!! voice so much XD
the instrumentals in bandori are so good 😭💗
RAS version of God-ish is just GODLY damn
Thanks for uploading after a year🎉🎉
desperately need outer science and yuukei yesterday to make it into these games PLEASE i need more kagepro covers
bandori slay 😻😻😻
I LIKE BOTH bc i love both games and all the vas are so talented
I kinda prefer bandori a bit tho bc i REALLY like the band-ish feel of it (ofc since its bands) i love when songs are like that
it’s time to give my (unwarranted) opinions again!!
30. children record - proseka. i love the contrast between anhane+akitoya’s voices, as well as the higher key. (however, i also acknowledge that aglow is covering the reboot, so the covers are bound to sound super different)
31. ego rock - proseka. i prefer the higher key, og instrumentals, and overall vocals in wxs’ cover. plus, len is tuned suuuper good (which isn’t surprising, he’s usually the ONLY vocaloid they’re consistently good at tuning)
32. hibana - proseka. roselia’s instrumentals are always super hard-hitting, but in this instance, i prefer deco*27’s lighter ones. plus, miku is tuned well here (rare sega w!)
33. villain - proseka. i usually love aglow’s renditions of so gs, but something about teniwoha’s use of “odd” instrumentals is so good that his sounds sound off WITHOUT them. plus, i like how mizumafu are singing softer than ran, simply because of the message of the song. (also, trans-coded character singing trans song lol)
34. melancholic - bandori. i like how energetic and upbeat kasumi sounds here, which kinda makes mmj’s cover sound bland compared to it. plus, the high notes (which i think is the keyboard? if so, common arisa w) compliments kasumi’s voice super well
35. god-ish - bandori. oh my lord i love layer so much it’s actually insane. usually, i prefer tamer god-ish covers because it makes the last chorus slap especially hard when all of the drums and instruments kick in. but ras always does so well with rock-type songs and i love it. plus, niigo’s cover is RUINED by miku’s presence. the cover would literally be so good if it weren’t for miku; she clashes so hard with the girls’ vocals, and the mixing is so bad. this was even proved because of mizumafu’s alt vocals that came out-they sound amazing! it’s literally miku that brings the whole cover down
36. telecaster b-boy - proseka. ran sounds a tad too upbeat when singing this song, considering the more somber lyrics. i prefer the lower key in wxs’ cover, as well as the more lowkey instrumentals. (also, common w len tuning as per usual)
37. kyofuu all-black - proseka. it’s super close, but it all comes down to my preference of singing. kokoro tends to sing super “bouncy” (for lack of a better term) which helps her a lot (ex: alien alien, darling dance)-but in some cases, like here, it’s totally offputting from the song itself.
38. dreamin chuchu - proseka. idk why, but the tempo in pasupare’s cover sounds weird to me 😭 like, the cover’s rlly good, but something about the chorus sounds off-putting to me
39. otome dissection - bandori. this was also super hard to settle on, but in the end, i love how powerful yukina sounds here. the only nitpick with niigo’s cover that i have is how jarring the switch to miku’s voice sounds sometimes, but even that isn’t a big deal to me.
40. non-breath oblige - proseka. i love tomori sm, she’s my favorite vocalist-but i prefer the softer angle that niigo goes for. it makes the song sound very personal, as if they’re singing the lyrics to me specifically, and i just love it.
41. kyu-kurarin - proseka. the drums in hhw’s cover is entirely too loud for this song imo, and it overshadows what’s supposed to be the high-pitched keyboard, which is what brings the whole song together imo.
42. bocca della vérita - bandori. ras’ instrumentals+layer’s amazing vocals strike again!! this is another hard one to choose between, but it came down to how well layer’s voice goes with the instrumentals.
43. yoidore shirazu - proseka. as much as i love yukina’s voice as a whole, there’s something that tends to make or break roselia’s covers for me: yukina sings very sharply. it usually helps her case for the more fast-paced or technically difficult songs where she needs to switch between high and low notes (fire bird, charles) but in this case, it doesn’t. i love the slur/slide of vbs’ voices (kohane specifically does it rlly well) because it fits the song and instrumentals sooo well.
44. bad apple - proseka. to be completely honest, this is a mix of my bias towards both marasy and kanade’s vocals specifically. marasy’s use of the piano is something that i absolutely adore (esp because i used to play piano), and i’ve been a fan of tomori (kanade’s va) since she played setsuna in love live. aka, most covers with kanade is bound to be preferred by me simply because of my kanade-bias
45. tokyo teddy bear - bandori. l/n has a rlly bad track record when it comes to vocaloid tuning+mixing, as well as line distribution. i’m not rlly talking about distribution between the four members, but rather how they tend to give the vocaloid WAY too many lines. rin’s mixing in l/n’s cover sounds off, and she has way too many lines imo.
46. queen - bandori. mashiro’s voice just sounds so good with this song, as well as rui’s violin in the background agshhfhshsc it’s literally so prettyyyyy. also, coming back to what i said with yukina for the yoidore shirazu cover-i feel this way with emu’s voice a lot. in wxs’ cover, i rlly enjoy how nene sounds-but emu sounds so off-putting because she doesn’t slide between notes like nene+mashiro do. i personally feel like this type of song requires the slide between notes, which emu doesn’t rlly do, so she just sounds out of place. plus, sega doesn’t know how to tune meiko at all, and idek why she’s in this cover in the first place.
anyways, all this to say, both games are rlly good and all of the voice actors are incredibly talented, so don’t go hating on either game because that’s stupid!!!
I prefer pjsk for most but Yukina akways slays and leaves no crumbs
honestly as a pjsk player I really prefer bandori😭 ( I tried playing bandori but I can never get the note timing right :( ) the vocals are always really good and the arrangements are fucking insane. I love listening to mygo's songs, I even really like the art direction in bandori.
I like Bandori's songs better because it still sounds a bit weird to hear Vocaloid voices with real voices. In the end it's a matter of personal taste.
