Overwhelmed Ryder

- Ryder's 4th birthday party - Mommy, Daddy and Grandparents went in on a real KTM 50 mini sx. I spent the last week taming this thing and de-tuning it. Still has a little too much power for his 40lbs, but I will fix that with an adjustable throttle. Ryder was completely overwhelmed yesterday, which is just what I expected. This is new for me too, as I've never taught a 4yr old how to ride a dirt bike!! More to come soon...

Good kid, better father. He'll remember that day for the rest of his life.
I wished my dad had spent time with me like this; you're a good dad.
I like how you can totally tell he genuinley appriciates it, respects it, and is thankful.
good bike
Dad of the year right there. I wish I had kids so I could share the things I love with them.
So many people commenting should do this shouldn't do that ... This father clearly knows how to ride and was clearly tought how to ride like this .. Unless the kid is completely forced to ride it with no support there is no problem .. I think we should all sit back and say at least this guy spends time out there with his kid which so many fathers are to busy or don't want do these days .. I hope I have a son so I can do the same mate well done and hope he sticks to it
you taught him the same way my dad taught me. stop, go, stop go. And Ill do the same for my kids. Thumbs up guys

Must have been a proud moment for that father! You go man. You're a role model for fathers everywhere.
These little bikes have come so far since my day! I started off with a minibike, lawnmower motor on 2 wheels, Good job Dad!
My son responded the same way but when it was just me and him he went nuts!!!!! This vid put a big 😊 on my face super dope!!!!!!💯
This is exactly how i learnt to ride! Bringing tears to my eyes watching it great video! and its not only nice to see a dedicated dad but also to see a kid that looks up to his dad and wants to follow in his footsteps! proves how much he loves ya!
N
i give this kid alot of credit.. in all of the other birthday dirt bike videos the kids just jump on their bikes and dont say anything.. this kid didnt even touch it before giving his parents hugs :") love itt!!
that was the cutest thing to see him run to his father before checking out the bike! must have been raised right!
Best dad award goes too
"It looks like yours Brian!!" That voice could shatter an eardrum.
Almost brought a tear to my eye! Hopefully ill have a son one day and make a memory like that! Lil man is thinkin "i got the best dad in the world!"
My dad bought me a brand new 1980 CR80R when I was 13. I never got to tell him how much that meant to me. Forty years later and I still ride at Hollister Hills. I park in the same spot that he used to wrench on the truck and listen to the ball game while I rode around. I'll always remember him filling up my tank with a lit cigarette in his mouth. ; !~ I miss you, dad. Thanks for posting!
awesome dad award!!!!!!! go for you man
I can't wait to do this! Great video!
Dang I teared up, he will remember that day forever.
who would dislike this? a bunch of overprotective stuck up parents..... this kid is so lucky i wish i had a dirtbike at that age. ride on little man
What I liked is that he looked at the bike and immediately hugged his dad

So touching :) im a 15 years old boy and when ryder and his dad hugged it made me cry :`)
Good job dad!!! That was one of the best days of my life , when my pop came got me out of school in first grade took me home and a Honda 50 was there. !!!! Good for you and your family.
Ronald Souza he is nice
I remember when i got my first honda 50, i went to my friends house to hang out and it turned out both our parents got us each a honda 50. Then a couple years later, i came out for christmas and there was a ktm 50 2 stroke sitting in my living room
What i've found is to teach them by just pushing them around the yard with the engine off, just put your hand on the rear seat and push them around. If you can find a little hill for them to coast down they can keep doing themselves until ready to learn throttle control. Learning to balance and throttle at the same time is almost always disastrous.
+InvictusR6 That's actually a really good idea!
Strider balance bikes teach balance at a very young age

Yea that's what my parents would do. Look at me now won 5 Loretta Lynn titles

I love it! My 7 year old races Ktm's. he started at age 5. It's the best thing ever to watch these 50cc riders. Way to go Ryder!
Man that is to cool that takes me back to 1984 when my dad got me my first bike great job Dad he will always remember his first bike.
Best dad ever! I wish my parents were as cool, I only got to ride at about the age of 15, and even then were only a modded 60cc, a 50cc moped and the biggest one was a 125cc 3 speed old school chopper, that's because it's illegal to ride below the age of 18 in my country
Im 22 and have never gotten to ride yet dont feel bad bud :/
Same here bro I'm 13 and my parents wanted to get me a yz65 but fuck that I got them get me kx85
I had to buy my streetlegal bike + licence from my own money with 16 (yeah in germany you're allowed to ride a 125 ccm with 16) -.-
Torgonuss Ole in the state of alabama us where i am its a 250cc at the age of 14
Torgonuss Ole tak to máte dobré
She said "same year same everythannggggg"
My parents weren't able to but I made sure to buy my son his first bike early. Before he could even pedal a bike without training wheels just like this. Now he's about to turn ten on the 13th and he's getting his fourth dirt bike. He has completely out grown his last one and the quad before that he didn't like. I think the original yz 50 with training wheels was his favorite. You can always build him a set of those. They grow so fast. Congrats bud. Ride baby ride
Sam
Your a legendary father, man! This is what i'm looking forward to when I have kids of my own ^^
This is how you are suppoused to learn how to ride, not like that u have training wheels etc.
Couple days doing this and the kid can ride alone a little
Rahkis yes I had no training wheels I want straight off our pourch in to a car 😂
يككبن
Ah back when 2 strokes were still raced at the pros those were the days
All the hare scramble and enduro pros ride smokers still?
+Mike Mo yeah but not the pro races
it would be cool to post a video in like 10 years to show how good he has gotten!
You are the coolest dad EVER dude!! Be safe!! Wish my dad got me a dirt bike when I was a kid!
and theres me thinking they got him him the big 450 :)
Ha ha ha imagine
Haha
MorethenDNA MorethenDNA .. the dad's is a 250 2 stroke not a 450. Still funny either way, just saying lol. I just picture him hold on to the front of the 250 like "give it some gas.. LET OFF THE GAS, LET OFF THE GAS!!!" While getting ran over by a 3yo 😂
JESguitar426 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
out of Jay Leno would say more money than brains Club
its nice to see one kid hug his parents before hopping on the bike
Cute! Can't wait for my son to be old enough for his first bike!
My dad made me learn how to ride a bicycle before i got my dirtbike it was alot easier when i got my dirtbike i already knew how to balance.

Great Job Dad, I'm sure he loves it.
This kid is going to have the best childhood
Thank you for your service
To be honest, that's pretty much my same situation. I wished I had started earlier because now riding dirtbikes (and sometimes quads) is pretty much all I do. And I've always vowed that when I become a father with a family I'll start my youngster early, too. So ya, it sucks and you're not the only one who's jealous of him.
Those poor other boys, looking on with envy.
Awesome gift.
hes learning so fast. his journey begins....
i remember when i got my first bike, a ke100. this kid is gunna be a champ!
The kid will never forget that day in his life!! I just got out of the 65sx stage and I still remember the day I got my first KTM!! You can watch my go pro videos on my channel to show your son and sons what to look up to. Thanks!
