22:14 it makes perfect sense. When the twins were born, Ai was 16, almost 17, while the father was "middle school age". Let's assume the age gap between Ai and the father was max 2 years, with Ai almost 17 at the time of the twins' birth, dad was about 15~16 yo. Aka late middle school to early highschool age. Now that the twins are about 17, the father is in his 30s.
And even if you running away the crow will always following you everywhere you go😂😂. Imagined wake up on the mid night and see her in your room with all that crows. That fk scary😂.
To clarify, from what we know, the mystery girl is not a 'god of death'.There are multiple theories for who this is, but in Japanese Shintoism there is a god depicted as a three-legged crow, which is known to be a "God of Guidance". Ravens are different birds btw, they are a lot larger than the crows depicted in the anime and manga.
The only one that implied the father would be an adult was Aqua back in ep1 during Ai's funeral. Unrelated to that, it is a very nice detail how the MV shows Ruby with different eyes at different points instead of starting with white and then having black. Makes the MV more real since We can tell at what point of time each scene was shot.
The Oshi no ko officials released the VA of the father and the white-haired girl yesterday. The white-haired girl is referred to as TSUKUYOMI, literally one of the japanese gods.
They could not have done this episode more perfectly. As a manga reader this episode is peak and I mean it!!!!! From Ruby’s dark arc tease and the 15 year lie and many other teases I can’t talk about. Truly an amazing season finale. I just feel bad for the hardcore anime onlys who have to fight the will of reading the manga for one year at least. :) What I will say about what comes next. Season 1 was the introduction season 2 was just “set up” and season 3 will be were the story REALLY picks up
I wanna give Doga Kobo masisive props for really adapting this manga in such an amazing manner. Leaving little things for even us manga readers to latch onto and make us excited.
22:18 well...no one ever said or implied which age the father of Ruby and Aqua had when he hooked up with Ai, not even in the manga/anime, if I'm not mistaken, it is ever pointed in the direction that Aqua thinks he was an adult (besides to the point in which Himekawa leds him to believe Seijirou Uehara was their dad). That was just basically what majority of reactors and fandom seem to have generally assumed, that he was an adult who hooked up with Ai. Can't wait for season 3, it's gonna be wild!!!!
9:24 I think it's totally possible for Ai and the real dad to have both been teens during her pregnancy. That type of thing is unfortunately pretty common. It is so sad to see Ruby spiraling down this dark path she was so sweet and innocent, but now she is being shown the cruelties of the world... 😢 21:22 Also, did you notice this girl also has stars in her eyes just like the Hoshino family!
What makes it more disturbing is that we know Himekawa is 4 years older than Aqua and his mother definitely looked like she was in her 40s or so... I don't think i need to write the rest
11:40 what really did it for me in this scene was the slightly discordant remix of the "I can dance!" theme that always plays when Ruby talks about her dreams for the future.
God, the real tragedy here is that Ruby, a girl that got a second chance at life and was living her dream and for all intents ans purposes HAPPY, is now consumed by a desire for revenge. All she can think about is killing the man who took the two most important people from her and she hasnt even made the connection that it's HER FATHER.
Her stars are so dark because she's even more obsessive on finding the culprit than Aqua. She is not so depressed about this in comparison to Aqua, but she feels way more anger.
i saw someone make a good point about aqua feeling guilty about everything all the time, he said he was feeding her clues to find the body and she did. but by sheer luck she was never looking she was just following ruby chase a crow. He asked about a pet, she took it at face value assumed maybe a childhood pet ran off and died in the woods or something, he took her to the hospital just told her he was looking for an old friend that worked there, gave her the "friends" back story, none of that would help her find the body or even make her look for it to her she doesnt even know dude was dead. so he was just feeling guilty for no reason
There will be a live action adaptation for Oshi no Ko that will be released on Prime on Nov. 28 + Sequel film on Dec 20. And the cast is sooo good. We get to see Ai's death again but this time in live action!
9:37 "Middle school aged boy" so 15 - 16-years old and btw Aqua/Ruby's Half Brother Taiki is I think four years older than them. ...So..Taiki's mum cheated on her husband with someone who was at most 12. 22:14 I think the ASSUMPTION we had was that Ai hooked up with an older guy, but the reality is that she hooked up with someone younger or around her age.
You forgot that middle school she in Japan is grades 7, 8 and 9th grade. AI’s meaning “boyfriend” was a year or 2 younger than her. No ever said that it was an adult
my personal theory now is the crow girl is the god of entertainment, and since aqua has given up on revenge shes basically pushing ruby to get revenge or maybe she wants two agents of revenge, Ai was a prodigy and stole the show in everything she did and was destined to probably be one of the biggest stars of her generation but was killed just as she was taking off, Himikawas parents were both actors and if i remember right his mom was actully pretty famous his step dad was kind of dud but alot of people believe aqua and rubys dad was behind their deaths as well, and then the girl at the after credit scene had stars in her eyes every non main character we have seen with stars in their eyes have been entertainers performing at their best like akane in tokyo blade, so shes most likely an entertainer. The god of entertainment is tired of this man snuffing out talented entertainers and she wants him stopped
Because of the whole entertainment industry "power dynamic" stuff, we all just assumed it was some creepy old dude in a position of power who knocked Ai up. I guess this episode implies that they were around the same age, or at least within a reasonable 2-3 year age gap, when they did the deed.
I'm gonna say this to clear up the confusion. Spoilers below. It's not too much of a spoiler but it clears up the age confusion with Ai and Aqua and Ruby's father. Don't read if you wanna go in completely blind. Hikaru was fifteen when he got together with Ai and she was sixteen
to crarify it wasnt an adult who was hooking up with teenage girls the dad is the same age as Ai and a year younger so most probably that teenage boy at the scene was Hikaru/the dad sorry for spoiler
I've been on some unholy binge in shortest time with the reactions on the channel - frieren/re zero/oshi no ko with apothecary in the process and having a blast, lol. Always nice to see someone who can and/or doesn't afraid to get emotional in their reactions, even for smaller more lowkey emotional stuff that often gets me as well. Here's hoping you'll be active for many years to come and would also eventually get to studio SHAFT standout titles - Madoka Magica, March Comes in like a Lion and (my fav) Monogatari series. Even disregarding how great the characters and their stories are in those titles, they're worth experiencing for SHAFT's unique direction alone that makes even longer dialogue scenes or moments of silence look very engaging visually. P.S. more on topic the finale of s2 sure is a much bigger game changer than s1 one. The prospect of seeing a lot of "dark star" Ruby is a lot more scarier than seeing "dark star" Aqua. The only thing I'm a bit iffy is that weird raven girl's role in the series that's teetering on being a plot device character at the moment, but I hope there's some proper substance to her later on.
You're thinking a little too hard about the age thing. The man Aqua thought was the father had that sort of relationship with younger actors. The *true* father would have been a similar age to Ai when she was active.
Love him or hate him the dad is one of the best characters in the story, without him the series wouldn't be even close to how good he is and the parts he's directly involved in become the most interesting parts. He's such an interesting and complex antagonist who anime only fans aren't ready for and couldn't predict this is who he was and how he got here. Can't wait for daddy to terrorize the anime 😂 just a hint into his mindset is how even though he's responsive for Ai's death he still visited her grave with flowers and now we see he's killing people off left and right 😅
22:15 And how did that not make sense tho😂. Ai was like 15 when she get pregnant, the middle school boy maybe like 12-15 which is not a big gap at all. Teenager love that gone too far is not something that never happened before if we think about it. The way to make a baby is not like you have to be adult first, as long as there's an egg and sperm that thing could happen anytime. And remember that Himekawa and Akane also in the Lalalai theater since they're a kid. So I think that possible that the dad is that young boy who's in the entertainment industry since the young age.
If the boy was a middle school aged boy let’s say 15, that would mean if Himekawa is 4 years older than Aqua then that would mean daddy was a at least 11 years old, minor when Himekawa was made…wtf happened there?
The Aqua's father hasn't to be an adult, Ai can like anyone minor to her too, remember Ai doesn't know what love is. And if the little girl is the god of death like you said and is mad because the father is usurping her job? 🤔
After thoughts.... You were soo close yet soo far. You're too focus on face value instead of what is being presented. I'm torn between helping you or just letting you rock. Your mind is so hyperfocus on the stereotype that you missed the mark.

they nerfed akane with aquas kiss so she doesnt find out about the reincarnation
@kompetenzs5996 I doubt she would be able to pluck 'reincarnation' out of thin air though. To her that is illogical and not a real thing.

Her stars are so dark because she's even more obsessive on finding the culprit than Aqua. She is not so depressed about this in comparison to Aqua, but she feels way more anger.
