This is the song that really began it all for RUSH! A Cleveland, Ohio radio station began playing it one day back in 1974 and the radio station got flooded with calls about this new song from Led Zeppelin. 😂 The rest is history!
originally , this song is what got them signed in cleveland. so this was a tribute to cleveland so many years later and has come full circle to close with this song here. thats why he says best audience ever
The WTF section at the end was the introduction to Cygnus X-1, a masterpiece so epic that it had to be done in 2 parts; the first part was the closing track on their 1977 album A Farewell To Kings, and the second part was the opening track on their 1978 album Hemispheres, adding up to about 30 minutes that will completely blow your mind! Cheers from Canada, and happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians! 🎤 🎸 🥁 🎸 🔥 🔥 🔥
I watch a ton of Rush reaction videos and you truly love them. You totally get it. I loved that you dropped an F-Bomb. Seen them 43 times and I miss them so much.
I love your reaction. I’ve been a fan for almost 40 years. This shot never gets old! Three friends, one goal, to make the music they want….fuck everyone else. Greatest band ever! RIP NP
There are a couple of shots of Neil, during the craziest parts of Alex's solo, where it looks like he's thinking, "WTF is he doing?!?! Whatever. That's Alex for ya" 😆
😁 Your joy is so infectious! Love your Reactions! Don't make yourself crazy trying to get videos out cause 🤗 we'll still be here! Don't want you to burn yourself out! Editing these things takes more time than actually making the reaction! 🥰🐰
So glad to see you are officially on the Rush train. Welcome aboard!!! Best 3-piece band ever in talent, musicianship, and sheer command of the stage in live performances. Working Man...Live in Cleveland from 2011 (original studio version was in 1974-75)...The pure sight and performance of three men in their upper 50's take control of the stage and perform and play like they were in their 20's. I would definitely recommend the following in continuing upon your Rush journey: - Xanadu...Live from the Exit Stage Left tour in 1981 - "Best Intro Ever" Live (leading into Spirit of Radio)...ua-cam.com/video/YSToKcbWz1k/v-deo.html - YYZ...Live from Rio - Subdivisions...studio version or live version - Freewill...studio version or live version - 2112 - Also...Neil's Drum Solo Live from Frankfurt. He was The Professor...a pure musician and percussionist...not just a "drummer". Be ready to be amazed by not just his hand coordination...but most of all his foot coordination...basically his feet being completely individual in timing from his hands during segments of this performance. He was the master of this technique.
This song, which is from the band’s first album, was written by the bassist and guitarist, because their original drummer failed to come up with lyrics just before its recording. He was replaced before their first foreign tour (i.e. their first tour of the USA, as an opening band for better established bands). His replacement, Mr Peart, was a brilliant autodidact who a,so shared their interest in exploring progressive rock. Peart wrote almost all of the lyrics for the next 18 albums. You’ll see a vast improvement in the depth and expression of the band’s lyrics from album no.2 onwards.
I can remember the first time I heard this version, in concert. Me and my buddies looked around at each other with puzzled faces. We figured, "Oh, I guess they got tired, after all these years, of singing it like the studio version, and they're going to Bob Marley their way through it." We were a little disappointed but figured they had earned the right to mess around with it, to keep it fresh...And then, the drop!
There are honestly just too many songs to recommend in one go, so I’ll attempt to cover the decades with just six recommendations (at least to start): 1. Closer to the Heart (released in 1977) played live in Toronto in 1984. 2. La Villa Strangiato (released in 1979) played live inRio in 2002 3. Subdivisions (released in 1982) played live in Toronto in 2015 4. Driven (released in 1996) played live in Toronto in 1997 5. The Main Monkey Business (released in 2007) played live in Rotterdam in 2007 6. The Garden (released in 2012) played live in Dallas in 2012 Bonus: since you’re Dutch, how about another couple of tracks from their 2007 Rotterdam performance? 😉 1. Digital Man (released in 1982) 2. Natural Science (released in 1980) And thanks for your interest in Canada’s holy triumvirate!!!
I'd like to suggest you two songs from Rush, the both of them are instrumentals and they are masterpieces: - YYZ (live in Rio); - La Villa Strangiato (live from Exit Stage Left). I hope you enjoy them and congratulations for your channel!
This song was written when Chris Rock was MAYbe 1 year old!!! 100% SINCERELY.... SPOKEN!!!. THEY'VE BEEN THROUGH IT ALL!!! PEACE AND LOVE FROM CANADA 🇨🇦!!! BY THOUGHT PROVOKING....ANNALISES, NOW YOUR WHIDDENING THE TRUEST ABILITY TO LOOK PAST PROPAGANDA AND FEAR THAT IS STILL BEING SUCCESSFULLY ININDATED UPON THE MASSES. BOTH SHADES AND ALL THE COLORS IN BETWEEN AND THOSE THEY MAKE UP!!! RUSH MADE THIS AND CHRIS ROCK WASN'T EVEN BORN BEFORE THIS SONG... CHRIS ROCK HAS HELPED SO MANY..... I'M MERILY SAYNG THAT RUSH SAW THE ANCIENT PATTERN AND ARE TRYING TO HEAL THE HATE! PEACE MY FRIEND, IT'S US!!!.... GOOD AGAINST THEM, AND EVIL AGAINST US!!! LETS ALL COME TOGETHER WITH SKIN COLOR JUST BLOWN TO THE WINDS. PEACE AND LOVE FROM CANADA. AND GOD BLESS CHRIS ROCK AND OBVIOUSLY RUSH!!! LOVE FROM CANADA
Love ya! “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
Never liked the studio version, 45+ years, Rush fan. This is pre Neil (R.I.P.), but this version is insane because of the improv. All three of course but Alex and Geddy in particular go off. Do not want to minimize Neil doing his thing back there either, what else is new, just saying. ✨✨✨✨✨☑️👍😎
Three geniuses in one band! They are all in their late 50's here and this is at the end of a three hour show.
three virtuosos
Watching first timers get hit with that drop just never gets old!! 🤣🤣🤯🤘
Glad you enjoyed it.
So true!
The drummer is called the professor, best drummer ever. Neil Peart is his name.
I have loved Rush for my 55 plus years. This song is my life. I really, really enjoyed your reaction. Thanks for sharing the love.
