One thing that is nice about the console versions of the game is that you could actually see the real time someone beat a level and didnt use a mod to cheat to first place
really good run dude, havent seen people kill the enemy at 1.32 before, is it faster to do that instead of letting it die off screen on its own, or is it just safer, or both?
It's a similar time. I just couldn't get the enemy to die off screen, so I kept attempting the level by killing the enemy instead and managed to get this time.
He ended up going for that strat in the end mainly due to safety. I tried teaching him the CC timing but he couldn’t get it down. So he opted for this instead. I’m proud of him!
I mean, Chaos Control is equally open to everyone and works the same way for everyone: when everyone can stop time in 5 second intervals, its almost like nobody does
I think it would be neat for speedrunners to consider Chaos Control as a way to cut off time. It would be neat to see runners come up with the best timings to use the abillity. It's a unique mechanic that makes it a more unorthodox (and fun) challenge.
Not sure what part of the run ur referring to but i assume it's the sidestep. I'm sidestepping in the air and on the ground at various points in the run. Would be the bumpers on default control scheme.
At the beginning of the stage there are 5 enemies which is just enough to get chaos control. Also I'm pretty much holding the chaos control button from large parts of the run to instantly use it. This saves time in the run but for scenarios like collecting the chaos control capsules it give 2 for reasons. (Not 100% sure why)
It’s a coding error. For some reason when you get a capsule it gives you CC automatically but also spawns chaos energy that doesn’t instantly go to the player. So if you use the first CC immediately then the sparks get frozen and come to shadow after the first one ends, granting a second one
If you hold the activation button while running into a capsule you ‘buffer’ the effect. You’re given Chaos Control instantly, and then particles are sent out to fill your meter
In general holding down the chaos control button will start the activation of chaos control before the animation of the gauge finishes. If your wondering how I'm getting it so early in the run it's because I kill every enemy on the road before the first water geyser section.
@@thelordbantsalotOh sweet, the last 3D Sonic that I played was unleashed, I’ll be sure to try this out. I always wanted another Shadow standalone game too 🫡
Even a world record speedrun takes longer than casually playing a Sonic forces level
This game did it justice.
This is WITH chaos control mind you, the actual speedrun is nearly twice the length of a Forces level.
And mind you, the Radical Highway section doesn't allow you for Chaos Control at all.
This joke is beaten to death
@@finalhazard247 I know it is, I still did it anyways though

this game is ridiculously good man. sega better keep this momentum going
Agree
For a second when i read the title i was confused what shadow the hedgehog had to do with silent hill 1
in my restless dream, i see that city. radical highway. you promised you'd take me there again someday. but you did. at least five times.
"Shadow, your evolution has been a sight to behold."
...Yeah, that's a fitting quote for just how jaw dropping this was.
Lore accurate Shadow
This shit is still longer than two forces levels.

My daughter said "I like this, I want to push the thumbs up button."
this is heavy hell yeah material
This game is gonna need an external timer lmao. The chais control shenanigans make this difficult to track

THIS IS THE ULTIMATE POWER
awesome run btw
Good job
Not THE shadow cringelord commenting on my run lol. THANK YOU!
@@thelordbantsalotno problem dude. Love seeing people optimize this game
Wait, are you going so fast, freezing time, & collecting those power refills that there’s a que going on?
Pretty much the gist of it yeah lol
@ I knew u could do it with 1 but not that many
Thanks for the tips and tricks
keep up the good work dude.
I wish the track of this stage was Justice from the avatar levels 😓
YOU DID GREATTTTT!!!!!!
Ultimate speed run
Holy chaos control 😅
Time for me to speedrun getting this game.
Based
How do you perform that small shift to the side while boosting?

@thelordbantsalot Ok. I will definitely try this later and see if I can speed up my runs too!
Woah. Great!
Ooh competition
Somehow I almost beat this yesterday I can't get under 3 minutes tho

@@thelordbantsalot I'm gonna have to try this for S rank hunting
Can someone tell me what is that weird slide thing he does with shadow
Its the side step. It's usually mapped to L1 and R1
Nice
your music volume is too low
is this game worth it
