- Where to stay in Tokyo, Japan?
If this is your first time travelling to Tokyo, Japan, we would recommend to stay around Ginza. We have stayed at Shinjuku, Asakusa, Akihabara, Shibuya and Ginza before and from personal opinion, Ginza is the most convenient place to stay in Tokyo.
Ginza has so many nice hotels accomodation, amazing shopping places and great restaurants. Also, rule of thumb to choose accomodation in Tokyo Japan is to live near the train subway station because you will walk a lot! Hope this things to know travel tips is helpful.

Agreed! Stayed in the GINZA area, lots of shopping and stuff while still a relatively quiet area :)
Wrong info. You should stay at Ikebukuro area. Especially hotels like Sunshine City or Tokyo Metropolitan Hotel, just a two to three minutes walk ftom the station to catch the Yamanote line 山手線 which is the same line and only a few stations away from major stations like Shinjuku, Ginza, Shibuya, Harajuku, Ueno and Tokyo stations. And Ikebukuro generally is cheaper than Shibuya or Shinjuku areas. And there are direct buses from Narita and Haneda airport that literally stopped in front of Sunshine City Hotel and Tokyo Metropolitan Hotel, e.g. Bus stop 17 at terminal 2 at Narita Airport.
@@jeffreysetapak i dont think this is a WRONG answer. You are coming off as combative when I shared MY experience. You cannot call my personal recollection wrong lol. Shoo
I live in Tokyo. I highly recommend you to stay in Shinjuku area near the train and metro 🚇 stations. Nishi Shinjuku is a freat area. The restaurants and bars, izakaya are open till dawn and you can get drunk and take a taxi or walk back to the hotel.
Are there any places specifically you recommend in Shinjuku?? Like hotels?
@@valentsim2141might be to late to tell you this their is a hotel on the right side coming out of the main shinjuku station it’s semi big greyish and is around 100-200€ a night for the price it’s super good Sinse 4 people can stay their + ur right next to the station basiclly and a 711
@@harroquq8364pls what is the name of the hotel? I don’t know what greyish hotel you are talking about😅
Another place to consider is asakusabashi, tonnes of transport links and super quiet with plenty of hotels and places to eat

I was in Japan twice before, back in 97 and 99, both times we stayed in Ikebukuro due to a place being recommended there and I didn't mind it not being a hotel but rather a ryokan-style place. We had only a few minutes of walking to get to the station and Yamanote line so it was convenient. This was many years ago but I'm considering staying there again when I go there again soon, probably same place in Ikebukuro because I liked it. though that place is not for those that wish to have a big room with ordinary beds - we slept on ftons on the tatami-covered floor :) I slept well!

Ginza is a nice place to stay!!! But I think Ikebukuro is nice as well that was where we stayed lol. But yeah there's so much things to see at Ginza love the GU shop there
We stayed at Kanda, 1 station away from Tokyo Station, the imperial Palace, and Akihabara, very close to Asakusa as well, even though Shibuya or Shinjuku would take upwards of 20 minutes to reach. Also a chill place and very economical. Some people might find Ginza quite unaffordable as it is known as the luxury district
Stayed at Akihabara before and it was great as well! Kanda sounds nice place!
i agree ✨ i would recommend Kanda, very accessible to anywhere in Tokyo.. lots of places to eat and reasonable prices for stays

It’s my fourth time in Tokyo, I’ve stayed at Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Sangenjaya before. Decided to stay in Ginza this time because I wanna go cocktail bar hopping at night, and I wanna be within walking distance to these bars! 😂
But Ginza is great for all those reasons you mentioned, it’s easy access to everywhere else in Tokyo, and it’s not as chaotic as Shibuya and Shinjuku. First timers who are from a busy city would probably be overwhelmed by Shibuya and Shinjuku stations!
Shinjuku is great, lots to explore around food and tons of food options open late
Asakusa is my favorite to place stay. Right here rn. I always come back to Asakusa for hotel
I actually really like Minato! Odd choice for tourists, but it is a very nice area. It is near several lines as well.
For a first timer I’d say Shinjuku or Shibuya. I stayed at Shinjuku and most lines connect at Shinjuku station.
If you're there for the nightlife, i recommend Shinjuku. There are quite a few hotels right next to the station
Super helpful. I'm going in March. Thanks!
I tend to disagree. Very convenient, but also the most expensive and smallest hotel rooms. I prefer to stay in Shinjuku. Much cheaper and still plenty to do and eat nearby
Shinjuku is *supremely* expensive
Japan is beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Not to mention Ginza itself is the og luxury shopping district. More than Omote Sando I would even say.
We stayed in Akihabara! It's great if you have teenagers and it's a lot cheaper than Ginza.
Could you recommend a hotel in akihabara we have teenagers too and don't know where to start
for those who has zero Japanese speaking skills i would recommend to stay at Roppongi area, the area is famous for bars and food and easy English access, also you get great view of Tokyo Tower.
I ❤ TOKYO JAPAN...I FEEL AT "HOME" THERE
Que lindo vivir ahí
Agree! Is also on the same train love as Haneda so no transfers after a long flight. I love ginza
Ginza is for the rich boys. I would recommend asakusa and ikebukuro. But actually... Just look for any hotel with good ratings. Tokyo has so many places to explore. Just go somewhere and you will find new things along the way!
woahhh, thank you!
👍 Agree
Since hotel prices are so volatile, I recommend just searching your favorite station and stay 1 station away (big stations can be hectic to navigate and it doesn't show on google maps) I'd rather be a station away then transfer
My family lived in Ikegami so we stayed with them, which was also on the train line. Ginza was not far from Ikegami for us. Ikegami also has Honmonji temple where I had a paranormal experience 😅
Akasaka-Mitsuke is the area to stay. Pretty much bag in the middle of all the tourist spots in Tokyo and so so much cheaper than Ginza.
Hearing GINZA line gives me persona 5 flashbacks
Not if you use JR Pass it’s not coveted
I ❤❤❤ and miss those places❤❤❤.
When will I visit you again Tokyo,Japan 🇯🇵 ❤❤❤
I stayed at Shin-okachimachi which is not far from Ginza.
Have you heard about the SOTETSU FRESA GINZA NANACHOME, im looking into it and its the cheapest
Ginza is an expensive area to stay at, i would suggest Kanda or Asakusabashi
the best site to stay is...near jr rails
Hotel Keihan Tsukiji is the best
Where is the ice cream cone from?
do you recommend anything near Dome City? I hope one day to go to Wrestle Kingdom
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ueno is better for budget travellers
I've lived in a comparatively small part of Tokyo. When you first said Ginza, I gwaffed a bit. Most tourist say they want to stay in Shinjuku. Shinjuku is so dirty mate, idk what's going on in those hotel areas. It's kinda gross. So yeah. Ginza might be nice if you can afford it. But Ueno works too, for access.
Haha yeah ueno and asakusa i guess also good
Wait Ginza..? The last time I was there everything was so pricey compared to the rest of Tokyo that I had to go in a small hidden street behind the tall buildings to find a small yakitori shop (the best yakitori I had btw)
🙄 First time went to visit Ginza, almost got knocked down by a Y a k u z a. Not lying. Not bumped, like a train going through.
But I still visited Japan and will again next yr!
whaaat kinda scary😳 we’ve never seen one in japan
Persona 5 made me fear the Ginza Line...
I also suggest Ueno. Especially if youre on a budget. Its right next to Askakusa, which is my personal favorite area in Tokyo. Its very calm. It has Ueno park which is a beautiful area. And also in Ueno park there is the Tokyo National Museum compound, which is an awesome budget thing to do as well. The only thing is that it takes a while to get to popular places like Shinjuku and Shibuya. Also if your into anime and game stuff, its right next to Akihabara.
What is the best month to visit Tokyo?
You lost me at shibuya, I was gonna go for Halloween and don’t wanna get gojo’d
i did stay at ginza. dude like hotels cost a thousand buck each night.
I’m going in Tokyo in March any idea how much is the hotel room 🙏🏻 tks
If you going next month, better book somewhere soon as hotels in Tokyo booked out pretty quickly!
I prefer Ikebukoro.

Yes I stayed at Ikebukuro for my first ever visit in Tokyo. It's a big city as well and very convenient as it seems to be the interchange for many train lines. I just got back from Tokyo a few days ago and I already miss the city 😢
Gin
Ginza is the expensive part of Tokyo
Ginza Freaking Experience. 😅
Any recommendation hotel at ginza near station ?
We stayed at agora ginza
For the budget minded traveler, Ueno would be a good choice since it has some decent business hotels. The National Museum and Ueno Zoo are near Ueno JR Station, as is the famous Ameyoko open air shopping district. Akihabara is just a couple of stops away on the Yamanote loop line, and Asakusa is easily accessible by subway.
I'm here trying to write notes....I wish this was slower so I could hear everything and not miss what he's saying.
I’m staying in Shinjuku as a first time visitor 😅
🙏🏻😆
How it is? We will be staying in Shinjuku Hotel grecery first-timer
@@Kakang990 location wise is good, however the Kabukicho area is kinda dark with lots of scammers. Just be careful with them and everything will be fine
@@jaimevogel8869 Thank you for the tips. By the way, how is the Shinjuku station for first-timers? because I'm traveling with my 15-month-old son, I heard is too complicated.
Supper expensive hotels
I recommend never staying in an apa hotel
What's wrong with APA hotels?
@@janicechan-tf5bk filthy dirty, overcrowded elevator, extremely tight small rooms
I cant recommend Kanda enough as well, its more affordable vs the area surrounding Tokyo station and Ginza.
For anime fans, Akihabara !
笑笑 not for Japanese tourists
what if i dont want to shop?
Akihabara is good 👍🏻
Only stay in Ginza if your rich hotels are an arm and leg
BUT.. Ginza is one of the most expensive areas to stay.
This is not good advice! Shinjuku and shibuya are where you want to stay near. Shinjuku has lower prices too, and it’s right where the action is.
Do you need to learn Japanese before going to Japan ?
Nope!!
RUBBISH... Shibuya the best or Shinjuku...
Once in Ginza , EVERYDAY you taking trains to EVERYWHERE!
FFS STOP GIVING DUMB ADVICE
GInza is great if you got tons of money. Shinbashi is the better cheaper alternative known as salaryman city where you can find amazing eats for 1/3 of the price! ;p
Ginza is a terrible place to
Stay…
Yakimoto kui ni chiwa. Nippon lotsa lotsa nuclear water yamamoto 250 tons dead sardines. Ainka daiyizi mon lo yakachida cancer.
hire a prettier model for your videos
I can't afford it.. have to sell myself to stay there
If you're planning on buying a lot of weeb crap, I recommend somewhere walking distance from Akihabra so you can dump your shopping regularly.
