The Ridgeway Sisters are AMAZING! I grew up around them living in Detroit! They sang with my Mom, Dr Jacqueline Turner Robinson as well as Anita Baker! PHENOMENAL VOICES!! This song gave me chills hearing them again. Thank you Father God!!
I'm almost embarrassed to say I'd never heard of the Ridgeway Sisters until recently (being from the UK). I was listening to one of my favourite Oleta Adams albums, and on one track ('Slow Motion') the backing vocals just got me every time. So eventually I looked up who was singing and it was the Ridgeway Sisters. I wish I'd discovered this years ago. They are blessed, and we are blessed to listen to them.
Finding this....you don't know how long I've searched for this song. I taught this arrangement to a group I sang with using only my childhood memory of this song from the cassette tape that my mother would play on the way to church on Sunday mornings. This song brings back so many memories.....THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!
+Craig Robinson It's funny you would say that. I was in a group as a kid in the 80s and we, too, taught ourselves this arrangement off of memory only. I, too, have searched for this for years and upon hearing it was glad to hear that we got MOST of the arrangement right...LOL.
@@UncleDuTheWatchman YEARSSSSSSSS. I remember, I was in middle school. My parents only played gospel music on the radio. This was one song that I loved to hear. I too searched for this song for some time because this was one song that I didn't forget.
OMG!!! Years and years ago I recorded a snippet of this from KEST and never knew who it was. I just put in some of the lyrics I remembered and it came up. Praise God! I LOVE this anointed song. These ladies sure can sing.
I thank God for the opportunity to know and grow up with the Ridgeway Sisters. i sincerely Miss Gracie and Esther thank you God for the gift friendship and the gift of song that resonated through them.
Growing up in Motown everywhere you went, down any street you could hear musicians, bands or singing groups. I knew a girl in elementary school (Gracy) and had no idea she could sing like an angel, and when I heard her and her sisters sing I learned that there is no harmony closer than "Sister Harmony". I was so happy to see their picture and hear them sing on UA-cam.The first professional picture I took in 1980 was this one.Thank you for sharing your gift.... Maxx Photography Atlanta,Ga
Those were awesome times, when we would listen to those wonderful songs. They would certainly take you back to the times , when the Holy Ghost would come upon choirs. Praise God for those wonderful experiences singing under the anointing.
Greetings saints! I have posted a recent rendition by Gloria Ridgeway this past Sunday at Bishop L.J.London's Consecration Service in Detroit, MI. She also sang "Safe In His Arms." I love you Ms. Gloria!
