Hey friends! I hope you enjoy this haul with some talk about the Chanel classic flap bags. I love mine but I’m not using them like I used to for a few reasons. I will always love them though! And I will wear them, but not on the frequency I once was xx
For me its stressful when something is so fragile and expensive… I had some items like this and eventually I stop wearing them. Now, I wear bags and shoes that give me joy when I use them. The Chanel flap bag is a classic but its heavy, chain not so comfortable, not easy to open and close plus all the quality issues.
@@galat1a This is the reason that I'm so glad my flaps and other Chanel styles are mostly vintage. The quality is excellent and I don't worry about using them. I would never buy new now. The cost is crazy!
I have a Chanel mini rectangular, extra mini, small boy, and a few WOCs. I feel fine and confident wearing them because, in my mind, I think people would most likely think that they’re fake 😊 Not being funny, but that’s the first conclusion some, if not most, people jump to when they see a person of colour with high-end designer things🤷🏽♀️ I’ve never felt like I was a target wearing any of my high-end designer watches, jewellery etc. Purely for this reason. I also wear my Chanel bags under open jackets/coats. Not for protection, but because I think they look better wearing this way. Especially the extra mini rectangular- it’s so cute 🥰
My friend had a LV Artsy and we were on a patio in summer in a more well to do area, the patio was part of the sidewalk but a small hip height fence surrounding the patio. We were just talking and some crazed woman reaches out over the fence grabs my friends bag (which she had on the seat beside her at the table), dumps out everything inside right there and just takes off down the street. This wasn't some sketch area, it was just a desirable bag at the time and she wanted it. I mean some women go crazed over bags. I couldnt imagine if she had a Hermes.
Oh wow that’s horrible. I’m sorry for your friend, it sucks you can’t wear your luxury goods out in public without fear of it being stolen, damaged or at times berated.
I wear my Chanel all the time but I have my husband as my bodyguard. 😅 I bought it to enjoy it and if it’s good and old then I’ll buy me another one, no big deal. I respectfully see your reason for not using it though and you certainly don’t want to get it scratched or snatched. I love my Chanel and I can’t just store it in a closet until I’m 90 years old. I think things are made for our enjoyment and if they get old and scratched then it has really served it’s purpose and for that reason I will wear it when I feel like it. Great video and what a cool collection!
When I bought my first (only!), Chanel bag, my final words to the SA were, I hope I actually wear this! I’ve returned to Coach this spring. The bags are quality, the colours are fantastic and I don’t feel nervous about having it swiped or getting ruined. 😅
I've been a huge coach fan and have several but their prices are also getting silly imo- especially here in the UK where we don't get all the crazy deals.

Actually Sophie at first glance I thought that first jacket really was Gucci! The pattern and color are so close. Loved that cornflower blue dress on you too. Can I request that you do a packing for holiday video before you go? I have enjoyed those in the past when you were organizing for your trip to France. Gives me ideas for my own holidays!
We always crave for something we don't have. FOMO syndrome. It had led many people to financial debt. The obsession for luxuries tends to wear off after the excitement of getting them. Whether they are genuine LVs or Chanels, or even dupes we simply get tired of them eventually. Things are just things. Period. Whatever is tangible will wear off. To me making friends and touching lives and making a difference to someone that cross your paths leave a lasting impression in our lives. It is just my opinion. I do enjoy watching your videos from time to time. You are a classy lady who is v honest with your opinion too. Be thankful with what God give us. Shalom Sophie
I tend to buy things I don't get tired of. One such things is a vintage Gucci belt. Why? Never has any belt I owned lasted that long. And that's what expensive items should be about.
This is one of the reasons why I can’t bring myself to purchase a Birkin. Everyone knows the shape and what price they start at, including thieves. I’m opting for more low key bags with less logos and less recognizable styles. A Lindy 26 is next on my wishlist 🤞🏽
I purchased 3 bags from Urban Revivo from your last video and I was so impressed. They are beautiful! I will definitely be looking at more from them. Such a great find - thank you!!
I’m a vintage Chanel lover as well. Luckily I am in an area in Canada where I really don’t get overly worried about safety when I’m carrying a bag. Also, lots of people wear eg Chanel inspired bags and don’t realize that they too are a target. Thieves wouldn’t know the difference between those bags and an authentic bag. It’s all so sad that these are the things we have to worry about.
@@deborahcurtis1385 Dubai literally has security cameras everywhere so it’s very hard to get away with theft here. My friend had her Gucci bag stolen and they caught the guy in 2 hours.
Dubai is the kind of place where it’s very natural to wear high-end luxury goods. You can leave your shopping, phones, bags, etc. and no one will steal them. However, because we are very careful with our belongings here in Canada, I was not comfortable leaving my purse in a food court. But everything else I just left there and went to go buy my food.😊
As for concern with robbery: I don’t think they know/ care/ have time to analyze if your chanel bag is vintage or new to determine if they want to rob you. They will rob you regardless.
@@katemiller7874 amateur thieves yes, but there is also gangs that are well versed in what to steal especially in the likes of London where Money is hanging off people’s arms & they’re well aware of this
Ya. No. I was eye-up outside of the supermarket and had a knife pulled on me for my bag. Fortunately I was able to get away. Robbery today is a very real feel. No more designer bags for me while out doing errands. Lesson learned.
I agree there's something about vintage CC 😍 I love my Chanel bags soo much!! I'm just more careful of my surroundings especially since the pandemic ♥️
I'm from a small town in Germany and here it's always felt a bit inappropriate wearing more expensive bags, even if its "just" a Longchamp leather bag. Some of my friends, who own more expensive bags, like chanel, always felt inappropriate when wearing them, but now we're all feeling even more inappropriate using these bags and we're also afraid to become a target now which wasn't the case a few years ago. It always felt really flashy but even more so now.
I recently moved to small town in Germany I heard Germany is relatively safe compared to other countries in Europe. But I still feel unsafe to wear my Chanel Classic medium bag.
@@annaaphrodite Yes, Germany is relatively safe compared to other countries in Europe, but I can understand why you're not comfortable wearing your chanel classic medium. I wish you all the best to make your new home your home :)
Hi Sophie! I'll be visiting the UK for the first time this summer, I'm wondering if you can make a video about what luxury to buy in London that is unique to the country or just harder to find everywhere else? Maybe some British brands people outside of the UK aren't aware of? Would love to hear your thoughts on that! Thanks!
Yes I have this feeling when I look at vintage bags too. They don't feel as grand and luxurious somehow. Still pretty but feels very worn and doesn't stand out in the good way
I love Urban Revivo shoes. They are well made, beautiful and stylish and comfortable at a good price. Their bags are nice too. You can use it with no worries.
THANK YOU for informing us about Urban Revivo. ❤️ I needed new work clothes, and the styles and price range for this site are perfect! I received one of my orders, and the fit / quality are excellent.
I feel the same :( Not for security reasons, but I don't like to be too flashy and feel like I'm trying to show off with a chanel bag. Debating whether to sell at the moment...
Life is too short to be caring about what others thinks of you. If you don't have the confidence to wear it maybe you just don't love it enough. Sell it buy other things that you love really. Don't let some influencer opinions control your mind
I feel ya. I'm the same. You have to be wired similarly to understand it. It's just that we don't like the attention that carrying a logo bag brings. It's nothing to do with confidence, I just don't want to be bothered with any negative energy.
I agree with you Sophie, my vintage classic flap is so carefree and is a joy to carry. My Jumbo now is strictly car to the bar. I still love it though!
Love the cropped Gucci inspired blazer and the cardi with bobble buttons ❤️ Yes I agree with security while carrying luxury. I almost always carry crossbody now as opportunistic crime has skyrocketed in our city. Luckily, very few luxury bags are out and about in our city and are mostly assumed to be fake, so that helps.
i wrap a kerchief around the handle to protect it and to dress it down a bit. it's not a twilly, just a regular silk scarf. makes a different toning it down. i also attach shoulder straps from other brands to change the look.
Thanks Sophie! I really enjoyed watching this video...thanks for introducing me to Urban Revivo. You're so good at describing products as some others don't go into detail about the quality of materials etc so when you follow their hype you get disappointed when product arrives. Btw when I first watched it I thought the chanel inspired clothes were original chanel...you look great in all of them!😊
I’m definitely more afraid to use my classic flap than my other Chanel bags. I’ve been contemplating selling it for just this reason. It sure what’s the point of having it if I won’t wear it.
I completely agree with your points. I only have 2 Chanel bags but feel just the same. I wouldn’t buy more considering the price and quality but I also have been wearing mine less. With all these price rises across so many brands I’ve been gravitating towards more mid end bags and the more limited edition versions of bags in designer on the cheeper end but I buy preloved. I feel it’s harder to spot designer if it’s not your typical bag and the logo isn’t huge and screaming.
That's exactly how I feel now ,I am not carrying a bag but 8000 dollars , honestly, I don't feel comfortable and that safe carrying Chanel anymore, especially now everyone knows how much they are worth with everything on social media. So I wear my LV more often, its beautiful and safe .LOL .Thank you Sophie for the video 😘
i found another shop that slles chanel-style! it even has bags that are almost identical to the classic flap - it’s called “charles and keith”, look for their quilted and tweed bags
I’ve been looking for a classic flap dupe for a while because I can’t justify the Chanel price. I finally got one in tweed this week from Karl Lagerfeld. Obviously I didn’t do research on every classic flap dupe out there, but for a good number of options that I’ve looked into, Karl Lagerfeld is the best!
Love Urban Revivo! Lovely knits. But, I agree with you. I don't want to wear super-expensive bags. I would be a target for thieves. Even if I had an opportunity to buy the Birkin, I wouldn't do it. Also, I think it's a ridiculous waste of money. I stick to Coach (great for casual day bags) and pre-loved Louis Vuitton and YSL for dressier occasions. Love your content, keep up the great work!
I started watching you about 6-7 years ago. The first one was on must have shoes or flats? There were 5 of them, one was the Charlotte Olympia kitty. 😂 I loved the content and the accent too. Ever since I’m a fan. 😘
Hi Sophie! Great to see your Vlogs again!! Like you, I love my Chanel bags, but I basically only use my Gabrielle now, because it’s a pretty serious double strapped Crossbody and therefore I feel safer, as it would be pretty hard to get off me!
I had a large LV bag that I was so afraid to carry, that I actually sold it. I was afraid I'd damage it or someone would grab it off my arm. I finally just sold it to end my pain...LOL. I do have a number of Coach bags that I have no fear of carrying. They were somewhat expensive, but not out of this world expensive, and they hold up very well to every day use.
Same here, I need to see where I’m going before taking my classic flap out. When I went to UK last October I don’t dare to bring any medium/big bags so the Chanel WOC came to the rescue, I can crossbody and keep it close to my body 😅
Thank you for sharing how the garments wash. I may be more inclined to check them out now. I don’t wear my classic flap as much. I have thought about being a target due to the price but it’s more so I am more interested in my other handbags.
Always enjoy your videos Sophie your very easy to understand and although you thankfully have a happy life you don't keep telling everyone that on every video. Lol. Sadly some girls feel the need to tell everyone how happy they are before any content. Takecare X
I’m safe in Hawaii, using my bags, because it’s either the local thieves who don’t know about bags, or the tourists rocking their own bags, lol. I probably will never resell any of my bags, because I never have so far, so I just wear them whenever, but I do treat them with care, just like everything I own.
I don’t use either, not feel comfortable anymore. Life style changes, kids! Don’t want to wear while saving on other stuff lately. Life becomes very expensive. Not complaining just a choice 😊
Love the haul of clothes and bags! That cardigan with a bow is so cute! Bag wise, I have three Chanel pieces. They have never been outside. Sometimes I will have a “date night” indoors with hubby and sit one of my bags on the table to look at. I honestly don’t feel safe wearing my Chanel outside. Nuts, I know LOL x
Man I was scared to carry my LV Sienna for a little while and that was “only” a little under 2K USD. Not going to lie I want a Chanel small classic flap but you’re not kidding about feeling weird carrying so openly an expensive item that is easy to rob. No one would wave around 9-10k in cash, but we are essentially doing that with our purses. Oh well. 😅
Lovely bags I no longer feel safe walking anywhere with a designer bag unless you have someone with you. Sitting in a restaurant with my designer bag feels very uncomfortable you don’t know if someone will grab your bag and run .
At least one could wear the Chanel bags crossbody. I feel it's even worse with Hermès bags because except the Kelly and a few other models they're all handbags, you can't even shoulder them. I own only one expensive handbag without a shoulder strap and I am mindful when I wear it and where.
It because we are in London or Paris or New York and so we feel like a target. However I went to Dubai and abhudhabi and Singapore for few months and I was confident to wear my classic bag. I left it at the counter by mistake at coffee shop in Dubai and nothing happened to it .
My most expensive bag is $2,900 which is still RIDICULOUS to me and nearly makes me sick. I am nervous to carry LV etc even. I know I could never be comfortable wearing something like a classic flap or typical hermes b/k/c out unless maybe i was with my husband and it was a wedding or something. I dont think i will ever have one of those bags for multiple reasons.
I’m getting a lot of wear out of my little Longchamp Le Pliage (Xander) and my puzzle bag. Use my Prada some, but I definitely feel vulnerable wearing anything more expensive. At night I take that cute UR tweed looking bag.
Love your video. So true of all the things you said about Chanel. I have the large chanel classic double flap and the gst. Got before the price increase. Now I shop chanel vintage. Just got myself a chanel madamoiselle medium patent leather and a chanel clutch with chain. So much better to shop vintage....plus the price and quality are amazing. Looking forward to your next video. May i ask what do you think about quiet luxury? For brands like loro piana, bruno cucinelli. Would love you hear what you think. Thank you
I feel if I don’t have the money to buy the authentic bags, being Chanel or otherwise , I wouldn’t want to buy the inspired ones, no matter how pretty they could be. Just my opinion. I agree Chanel is crazy prices now, but as Sophie says next year it will be more.
Hi Sophie, May I ask how tall you are ? And What size of cardigans you wear on outfit 2,3 and 5? They look so good on you ! Love all your outfits !! Thank you ❤️
Hi Sophie, love the Urban Revivo outfits. Can you help where do they ship from as I can’t find the info on the website. Do we need to pay extra duties when shipping to EU ? Thanks, love your videos 😊
What's the point of buying all these bags that we love and not wear it😢?? I'm not a Chanel fan but I do understand getting fidgety when you carry a $10k bag esp in sketchy places. I won't go over $3k for 1 bag and certainly I don't see them as my investments so I am really using them all and if some of them survive to be sold later then it's a bonus. Maybe I felt like this bec I'm not a 'collector', I want to enjoy my lux bags. I lived in an area where the ladies wear lux at the grocery store and I think it's badass. I seldom saw Chanel out there, guess people are so scared using them, nobody really gonna snatched that from you in public I guess😅. Certainly don't walk all alone late at night, be watchful etc. But I think the big thing why people don't use it is bec they can't get it out of their heads that it did cost them 8k or it now cost like that so it's a lot of money. It reminded me of that badass women in a Rome train station, they just put their Birkin and Keepal on the train floor while waiting. Idk if they're fakes but still that is Soo the point of using a bag and if it's a lux bag, it sooo badass.
I was abruptly approached by a young girl asking for cash in Christchurch city and of cos, no one carries cash these days, she just walked away. My daughter cautioned me that if she had been sharp, she could have snatched my Chanel bag. So morale of the story, I will not carry it if I am going out alone now in light of the poor economic situation everywhere.
I do worry about carrying designer bags and wearing expensive watches but mainly in London or many places in UK sadly. I did not feel like that in many places in USA, maybe because people have guns on their person. (not sure about NY these days, not wanting to visit that city any more now).
Honestly, I'd feel uncomfortable using any bag over $750. I had a Burberry bag at one point, and I never wore it because it was worth a decent amount... so I sold it.
Hi Sophie! I'm ready for tomorrow! And are you and David ready to relax and have fun? Too bad that from tomorrow the weather is not very good 😔 The jacket of the outfit n. 1 makes me think a lot of one by Max Mara, it's very pretty, and I really like that kind of jeans, but I need to try them on
Honestly, wearing luxury items has always made one at risk for robbery. I don’t think that has changed that much. I don’t think the majority of people who would rob someone would really distinguish between the Chanel flap versus other Chanel bags or other designer bags, especially if the bag is logo heavy.
They are not an investment. You can get them in good conditions for 40% off. Some people think thir used chanel bag will increase in value with the chanel price increases and that is not the case. You will lose money. Unless you bought the bag 2016 or before and it is still in prestine conditions. Right now, chanel is not being taken serious.

The cropped jacket is darling on you. Very chic.
All super cute, might have to think about the varsity style cardigan! Everything looked great on you my dear.
Wow! I thought that jacket was Gucci! I've noticed that Kate Spade makes some very nice Chanel inspired tweed bags. Thanks for the video Sophie!!
I agree with those reasons for not using the Chanel bags. So Sophie, what has been our point in buying them? I’m really wondering that atm 🤦🏼♀️
Same here, I need to see where I’m going before taking my classic flap out. When I went to UK last October I don’t dare to bring any medium/big bags so the Chanel WOC came to the rescue, I can crossbody and keep it close to my body 😅
It took almost 11 min for the actual video to start after the paid promotion bid. Not a fan of this technique, sorry.
I disagree it’s classic and those lucky to have wear and Enjoy . It’s a true joy if I can one day and those that own wear and love I would say
What a max mara jacket! Beautiful
2:08 omg its so cute!!! Also want to say your jacket and cardi looks so good!
Your vintage chanel looks so much classier than your modern one
I loved this video so much. Your just so down to earth. I love it 😊❤
Thank you for such kind feedback my friend! You have a great weekend xx🥰💐
Hi sophie 😊❤ loving the chanel inspired clothes some beautiful pieces..they look amazing on you❤ love n blessings from us in New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤
I don’t use either, not feel comfortable anymore. Life style changes, kids! Don’t want to wear while saving on other stuff lately. Life becomes very expensive. Not complaining just a choice 😊
Fun video! I, too, luv Chanel, but the price is too much for me. I still luv the style and aesthetic.
Oh well. 😅
love your style, thanks for the link so we can save $$ we enjoy your vlogs, thank you.
Thank you for such lovely feedback my friend, it’s really appreciated 🙏🥰 You have a great weekend xx
Lovely bags I no longer feel safe walking anywhere with a designer bag unless you have someone with you. Sitting in a restaurant with my designer bag feels very uncomfortable you don’t know if someone will grab your bag and run .
Was feeling down today and this cheered me a bit. Always enjoy your videos. ♥️
At least one could wear the Chanel bags crossbody. I feel it's even worse with Hermès bags because except the Kelly and a few other models they're all handbags, you can't even shoulder them. I own only one expensive handbag without a shoulder strap and I am mindful when I wear it and where.
Sophie, i bought the Samsung flip 4 JUST SO I COULD CARRY MY PHONE IN MY DESIGNER BAGS 😂🤷♀️
my next phone is def. gonna be a mini for the same reason lol!
Hi Sophie, Love video. I love finding out about new things from you. Hope you are enjoying the spring.
Ooh I though it was a real Gucci jacket! 💙😱 it's so nice and classy !
I’m getting a lot of wear out of my little Longchamp Le Pliage (Xander) and my puzzle bag. Use my Prada some, but I definitely feel vulnerable wearing anything more expensive. At night I take that cute UR tweed looking bag.
In Bangkok they have a 3 level Urban Revivo, was great seeing these items in person!
Dear Sophie, I would love to watch a video where you show how you care for your clothes. Do you wash them at home? What kind of soap you use?
Love your video. So true of all the things you said about Chanel. I have the large chanel classic double flap and the gst. Got before the price increase. Now I shop chanel vintage. Just got myself a chanel madamoiselle medium patent leather and a chanel clutch with chain. So much better to shop vintage....plus the price and quality are amazing. Looking forward to your next video. May i ask what do you think about quiet luxury? For brands like loro piana, bruno cucinelli. Would love you hear what you think. Thank you
Love this SOPĤ!
I’m so glad! Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate you being here xx🥰🙏🫶
I feel if I don’t have the money to buy the authentic bags, being Chanel or otherwise , I wouldn’t want to buy the inspired ones, no matter how pretty they could be. Just my opinion.
I agree Chanel is crazy prices now, but as Sophie says next year it will be more.
I feel the same way
Thank you so much Sophie. I just bought a few items ❤
Chanel should hire these
designers
Hi Sophie, May I ask how tall you are ? And What size of cardigans you wear on outfit 2,3 and 5? They look so good on you ! Love all your outfits !! Thank you ❤️
Sophie, do you insured all of your handbags? Whether the bag is being use or being kept at home.
Hi Sophie, love the Urban Revivo outfits. Can you help where do they ship from as I can’t find the info on the website. Do we need to pay extra duties when shipping to EU ? Thanks, love your videos 😊
I feel exactly the same with my medium classic flap. I'm scared to use it now.
❤❤❤Such beautiful outfits, Sophie! 👌🏻😁
You used to have a beautiful pale yellow and another pink classic flap. Have you sold them? 😢
Love this video, everything inspired items are so cute!!
Reminds me of periwinkle blue. Dress is so cute.
I do worry about carrying designer bags and wearing expensive watches but mainly in London or many places in UK sadly. I did not feel like that in many places in USA, maybe because people have guns on their person. (not sure about NY these days, not wanting to visit that city any more now).
People having more guns should make you more in fear.
I love your choker Sophie, please could you tell me where you got it from? ❤
Honestly, I'd feel uncomfortable using any bag over $750. I had a Burberry bag at one point, and I never wore it because it was worth a decent amount... so I sold it.
In LA I change my bag according to which neighborhood I’m going to 😂
Could you please show how you wash such items? You mentioned the vertical wash with some tablets, I have no clue 😅
Hi Sophie! I'm ready for tomorrow! And are you and David ready to relax and have fun? Too bad that from tomorrow the weather is not very good 😔
The jacket of the outfit n.
Add any CC broach to the B&W Tote and they‘ll release the Shohet Tote soon 🫶🏻 would love to knit/smith something for you 😽
I love outfit #6 looks great on you ❤
Hi Sophie!! Still waiting for my Launer But hopefully will be worth the wait
I feel the same way about the classic flap
They are not an investment. You can get them in good conditions for 40% off. Some people think thir used chanel bag will increase in value with the chanel price increases and that is not the case. You will lose money. Unless you bought the bag 2016 or before and it is still in prestine conditions. Right now, chanel is not being taken serious.
Beautiful eye candy..sad you don’t use them
