    1. Connecting with people in a compassionate way puts me in my flow state.
    2. The faith that everything will work out no matter how challenging is what keeps me motivated to go forward.

When I’m talking to people and helping them through their struggles, I realize I can be fully immersed more than working out, more than videography which are both of my passions but Mental Health and allowing myself to be a part of someone’s life and they feel comfort talking to me and I am able to give them guidance is so amazing.

Anyone who has been in love (reciprocal), has experienced flow when they are together; that beautiful, timeless co-creation.
So I got to thinking that all of life is a relational journey, so I played with it a little.
I tried to practice falling in love with the most simplest and basic of experiences, like my very first cup of tea of the morning, the smell of freshly cut grass, the feel o the sun on my face (yes all those cliché things)... I practice really being still with it and embracing the experience as I would with a loved one.
The result? I found the greatest of joy can be found in the smallest of things. I don’t have to be creating... it’s all the same thing... a oneness with being totally present in whatever you choose to experience.
That’s on a good day though. I often forget to practice it... A LOT lol.

I have always had a passion for working with and helping others. The majority of my academics have been in healthcare or human services. I completed my undergraduates in healthcare administration but found that it didn't give me the scope or fulfilment I was looking for in the helping capacity. I didn't and still don't have the stomach for seeing people injured or hurt. I decided to complete my masters in public health because it just felt right, and I learned a lot about human behavior and statistics across the world. This instilled in me a desire to work abroad. I still felt like I needed to do something so I decided to complete a masters of social work. I feel like this was the final piece of a puzzle to what I needed to learn about myself in order to fully take on the role of helping others compassionately and empathetically as a humanitarian working abroad. It's amazing how life is guiding you if only you have the ability to follow your instincts and not your mind.

Same I have adhd and every time I talk to people and have a deep convo it makes me enjoy them and things or see them from different prospectives and understand them more and what they think and that were more alike then we are different and I felt I used to go with the flow without trying now I force things a bit because I’ve felt disconnected in a way but I see it’s to help me grow to my true purpose things change and maybe it’s for a reason I can’t ruin my flow just passing by my man my thoughts and experiences ❤️

    1. Knowing that everything I do (studying,...) has a purpose and that one day I`m gonna make a huge difference for the people around me. 2. I experience deep enjoyment and creativity when I watch videos (from Yes Theore for example) like this, because I love hearing meaningful quotes ( "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." -Mahatma Gandhi) and I feel like there are a lot of topics (optimism, meaning of time, purpose of life, inequality, selflessness,... ), Jay Shetty talks and I start thinking about. I love those kind of deep conversations/speeches/... , that make me reflect on my life and behavior. This makes me hope, that one day everything might get better in the world and it makes me happier and it helped and still helps me through my depression.

When the typical limitations (sleep, eating, fear, etc) drop away because I'm so immersed in applying an idea or concept about how life may work and how it successfully connects to me in my life or someone else's.. and solutions come.. researching and discussing it as we apply it in the moment.. at that point it either makes perfect sense or sometimes it just feels completely wrong for me/them and we can then drop that line of thinking/direction and easily move on with letting the creativity come. I can then write and express it openly, honestly, in a relaxed yet driven state, like I'm painting a picture bringing it all together. Time just disappears. That's my flow.

I teach a high school social and emotional learning class and I use your words a lot when teaching them about loss, resiliency, purpose, and drive. I've taken several students from all F's to all A's and I always start with a high ability, low effort task. You're right, it is very effective. Just have to get them to break their 4-minute mile like Roger Bannister. Once they realize they can do it, they apply even more effort. Thanks for all you do! You're impacting more than just your listeners.

Parents can add so much to their children by watching and observing what their little ones gravitate towards even at a very young age. I thank my parents over and over for viewing this in me even when I was a toddler. I loved to create, art/crafting has surrounded me my entire life. This is and has been my bliss for years and even being retired from a few 9-5 jobs now it's still my main focus ...the day I pass on from this world will be the last day I create.
So thinking back thru' the years my parents especially my Mother always encouraged me to follow that path, studying art in college had many professors telling me I'd never amount to much because I wouldn't do always what they thought I should be doing ...they almost killed that creativeness in me ...however Mom to the rescue always said ... just do what you like to do ...do it your way. I believed her more than those college professors Thank God! Life is believing in oneself, so many people in my life have called me crazy because I don't follow the norm but like Jay said basically observe things around you and put your spin on it ...that's so very true. Don't try and overthink it ......

When I am cooking I feel flow particularly doing something like making dill pickles, making up a new recipe. I also feel flow when I first wake up from a dream and then write the dream in a journal. When I went to the Grand Canyon I felt flow, a combination of being in an altered state of reality or awesomeness. Also when I write, particularly poetry. I am usually alone and relaxed. I do not seem to be able to feel flow when I am stressed. I love this, never knew what flow was til now. :)

in the month of march I was completely immersed in coding, I was learning this new language called "Python" and I rem I used to practice whatever problem used to hit my mind , i will start articulating that into code , and I had to move on fast in my career so I am currently studying Cloud computing(AWS), I just left practicing python because it was very time consuming and I wasnt able to be with the other stuff. I am btech(CSE) and mba, later onwards when I was working after mba in small firm of IT , I realized my passion is IT, I couldnt realize it throughout my entire college so thats when I decided to take gap and I left the firm and now pursuing studying AWS, and already cracked two of my exams. Lets hope for the best.

    1) Getting to have the opportunity to motivate or enhance someone else experience, motivates me.
    2) One of the more interesting ways I’ve found myself in a flow state is when all of a sudden you get to come extremely close to something going horribly wrong. It’s then that you don’t think, you react instinctively and without hesitation. Then afterwards, as almost as if a byproduct of flow, you have a good good laugh.
I’ve been able to enjoy some extremely different ways of being in flow my whole life leading up to going into the Marines directly after high school in 2003. Quickly retired out after two years and loosing the majority of the sight in my no dominant eye. From there at twenty years old, I became a skydive addict for the next two years. Doing 100 jumps in the first six months and 450 in the first two years.
Now for the shift. I begin working sports retail. Finding a new rush in my very creative communication skills when connecting with the customers. On top of the massive risk in merchandising patterns and excelling in some very serious leadership highs in motivational moments.
Four years into retail and blowing minds, I was hit on my motorcycle.
Now at twenty six years old, happily married to a wife who’s five months pregnant with a boy and with a eighteen month old son together already. I’m in coma for nearly six weeks on top of paralyzing my dominant arm, lung and a laundry list of other modifications.
Thankfully I had several different insurance options keeping me alive on life support and my pregnant wife was amazing at paper work.
My recovery was unheard of and what was excelling me then was that at every opportunity I had to beat the odds, I did. With every test that I could find a way shock and awe, I did. My goal was to put everything back to how it was before. I can now see that what I was doing was figuring out how to operate in more of an already familiar flow state. Bypassing the the damaged prefrontal cortex due to enduring a frontal lobe TBI.
After a year and a half, my wife divorced me and after two years of working, I decided it was time to take on the next path.
Now I’m getting to help patients at a medical dispensary in Sedona. Applying all the skills acquired along this path to do my job. Allowing myself to be in as much of a fully aligned, flow state vortex as possible. Being able to connect and assist here has been an excellent way for me to be a servant of the light and in the most rewarding flow states I’ve ever felt in my life.
    One Love brother.

I gain the most excitement when I'm asked to help with a task like writing, assisting with a move, or when I'm conducting research to solve a problem in the field of Health.
In other words, I find the most joy when doing something beyond myself in service of others. * I'm not perfect...I'm growing and working through the hill and valleys life has to offer.
Yet, I know helping to create joy and peace in the lives of others gives me meaning, allows me to experience hope and feel purpose.

    1) any potential I recognize is a motivation (most frequently I've seen situations where people devalue themselves various ways: I always try to interrupt patterns and give people more options)
    2) when I'm in the middle of creating art on people (mostly hair and makeup) whether solo or on a team. I recognize when magic moments happen. Its honestly what I live for. I hope to expand on this through giving people information and their actualizing power that they've misplaced in external voices.

When I am doing anything that fulfils me at a deep level. Skating, surfing, cycling, rock climbing, philosophical conversations, cooking, talking with my girlfriend, deep meditation. Things that generally challenge my coordination, creativity, problem solving, focus and intellect. Any state where the physical aligns with the emotional. But then I can skateboard without flow or I can skate with flow. For me it isn't always about the subject matter, it is about your state of mind going into that subject matter. Is it something that body and mind are both aligned with at that time. As Dr. Joe Dispenzer said, creativity happens when you merge a clear intention with an elevated emotion. Elevated emotion is very important. Without a high vibrational frequency it is hard to get into flow. For me it takes 5 to 10 minutes to get into flow when I meditate, but sometimes much longer if my amygdala is running the show and the Neo cortex is seriously offline. That's my 10 cents! Thanks for the great video. Great information!!

    1. I feel motivated when I think of my goals that I've set and written down in my journal.
    2. My best ideas come up in my mind when I am in complete solitude.

You said in the video that ,flow state can be attained in any activity provided one is fully focused on the activity ,clear goals, immediate positive feedback and there exists a balance between perceived challenge and perceived skill of the individual. Also one when in flow , there exists a balance between challenge and skill ,this is a fragile state. When there is imbalance between challenge and skill one enters into aversive state of boredom or anxiety,to re-enter flow flow one has to adjust one's skills relative to the challenge.

1- I am motivated by love, the love of my envisioned and desired life and improved self, so that I am able to help create a more beautiful world.
2- Dancing and music, deep talks, and unconditional love giving are what make me feel connected, in tune.

I've been interested in doing fire performance as a more serious endeavor. After reading Gary Vaynerchuk's "Crushing It", I feel that it's entirely possible to establish a humble living through posting content related to fire performance. This would allow me to enjoy what I do, and be creative through coming up with interesting content to share across the various social platforms.

Making/mixing music with Garage Band, a talent I discovered in my 50's - obsessed to the point of spending 16 hrs a day at it, no idea of time, even forgetting to eat! It saved my sanity. Now, mid 60's, I write (less time tho and more food).

30:00 is a good point. I used to put a lot of time/energy into focusing on a specific place, job /friendships/relationships that I would enjoy for the long term. But the reality is, jobs, friends, and even relationships often come and go. By having your OWN purposes it keeps you on track day to day, and less affected by things you can't control

I absolutely love listening to you 🌟 your aura radiates from you 🌟 I listen to you when I’m getting ready for work & before I go to bed 🤗 your inspiring 🤩 I lead a very negative life from day dot & I’m not sure what happened but i felt a change a few years ago & now I don’t get drawn in to any negativity I have to walk away even with family !
It’s Quite sad it took 50 years to realise this!
but my positive is I grow every day in myself for the better 👏 life can be difficult but I now find positives from negatives 👍 & if I can’t that’s ok as tomorrow is a new day to try again 😁

Jay you are really GREAT and i am not exaggerate. I am watching your work very closely- Congratulations! I want your honest opinion regarding passion (or flow). Two simple questions:
    A. How somebody can find his/her passion? PS. Questions like "What would you do if you have no money" or "in which action you really loose the time" lets say they will not help. Something more practical.
Question No.B) If passion is not giving you the necessary things in life, then what? Lets say: I love writing books, I really loose my self in that state of writing, I took many Panhellenic awards and International Distinctions but there is No money from that passion. I sent my works to many publishers and agents (more than 200) but nothing happen and when i realize that (last 6 years) My passion is going lower and lower and i turn my life into other paths (I do not prefer but I know i am doing it well) to make some money... sorry for the large text area

I was in flow a few days ago. I was playing Counter-Strike and I was playing out of my mind, I played against a semi-professional player and we won and I performed well. I was dropping high kills games and going on huge winning streaks before losing. It lasted about 3-4 days and now I am lokoing back on it realising I was in flow and now I really want it back. I am craving it.
