My guess is that if conservative politicians and news spoke about Menendez, they know it would open the opportunity to talk about the dozens in their party who are also under investigation or recently arrested. We were hoping that his wife would admit to enticing Bob to take such action and that she would take the fall. Bob is entitled to an appeal and there is still hope that she will be able to come forward. Fortunately, this is considered a nonviolent crime and very likely Bob will be eligible for probation. He will still be able to maintain his Seat as a senior progressive Democrat in the Senate. The only question is his security clearance.
