I personally don't understand the popular music culture in Germany. They have Bach, Handel, Pachelbel, Telemann, Beethoven, Mozart, Shumann, Mendelsson, Brahms, Strauss, Bruch and many other composers in their history but they prefer some random local band or a rapper dude.

The total number of tickets sold in Germany for classical music concerts (Beethoven, Bach, etc.), operas, operettas is the same as all tickets for all football games. Faun does celtic-ish music.the best comparison would be with tavern songs in skyrim (but better).
yet they sometimes stray away from this style and do some music in latin (and also church-like) and sometimes nord rock style (like heilung).
so, faun covers a lot of range among the folk/medieval/celtic music.
if you are into medival rpg, then faun is your pick!
if I had to pick a favorite music from FAUN, then I'd choose

the entire album reeks the fantasy/mystical styles you would see in any movie. but menuett sounds lik a lullaby.

Lol, they are definitely my favourite. After learning german and finally understanding some lyrics, they are very strange lol. But they also have very beautiful songs, especially on their newest album. IT's not all creepy, rapey stuff lol. But i do understand why germans aren't as big fans as the rest of the world

Completely agree and I'm usually a fan of classic rock and play guitar. Kraftwerk is #1 on my list for contemporary music from Germany. Greetings from Texas.
NEU! is in my opinion a way more interesting band. Sure their output falls short compared to Kraftwerk's, but their first LP especially is an absolutely amazing an innovative album. 'Negativland' is hands down one of the most mind-blowing songs I've ever heard.

Letzte Instanz, In Extremo, Santiano, Saltatio Mortis, Oonagh, Faun, Vogelfrey, Subway to Sally are some really good bands if you are into alternative rock and folk.
I would recommend listening to 'Sturmvogel' from Letzte Instanz (really cool lyrics) or 'Faolan' from Oonagh.
My favorite German music is with singers like Reinhard Mey, Klaus Hoffmann, Konstantin Wecker, and Wader. They're all older men, but great poets and outstanding musicians. I also like the jazzy quality of Die Feisten!
Meine deutsche Lieblingsbands sind Santiano (aus Flensburg) und D' Artagnan (aus Nürnberg).
Auch finde ich Heino und seine traditionelle deutsche Lieder toll!
Ich empfehle euch Annenmaykantereit und Eisbrecher.
Das sind wirklich die besten deutschen Bands, die ich jemals gehört habe.

When I think of German music I think of all great metal bands. Rammstein, obviously. Then Accept, Helloween, Running Wild, Gamma Ray, Edguy, Powerwolf, Grave Digger, Avantasia and Blind Guardian. I know there's more, but these are the ones I remembered best. They all made amazing songs.

Just checked it out. That was actually painful to watch and listen to. And I love gothic kinda stuff, I love Rammstein, but that was pure cringe.

Aus meiner iTunes-Bibliothek: Cro, Kraftklub, 3plusss, Auletta, Bosse, Casper, Die Ärzte, Die Toten Hosen, Frittenbude, Peter Fox, Silbermond. Zu viele Songs zu schreiben 😂 aber meine zwei deutsche Lieblingssongs aller Zeiten sind Ein Teil (Cro), und Frankfurt Oder (Bosse). Ich mag wahrscheinlich alle Songs von Kraftklub. Lang Lebe der Tod von Casper ist echt cool.
Ich liebe der Neue Deutsche Härte. Ich höre jetzt Oomph!, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Eisbrecher, und Erdling. Und Rammstein naturlich

Deutsche Musik hat mir sehr geholfen, Deutsch zu lernen. Ich mag besonders Rockbands wie Die Toten Hosen, Die Ärzte, Broilers, In Extremo usw., aber auch andere Künstler wie Silbermond, Cro, Marteria und Andreas Bourani.

40 years ago Scorpions would have been mentioned. Saw them live in Ratingen in about 1977 and they were fantastic! Funny thing is Michael Schenker lives near me in Brighton and Uli Jon Roth used to live up the road from me in Seaford UK.
Das erste das ich gelernt hat war Cello von Udo Lindenberg (eine version, die er mit Clueso gesung hat) und auch 'Nur für dich' von Wise Guys, sie sind sehr lustig and das Lied ist sehr gut Perfekt zu uben 😉

Mein Lieblingssänger aus Deutschland ist Mark forster. Ich war an einem Jugendkurs in Süddeutschland, in dem wir jeden Tag "Die Chöre singen für dich" gesungen haben. Jedes Mal höre ich das, weine ich, weil Ich noch alles in diesem Kurs vermisse.

I’m so glad someone said Seeed, amazing reggae group. I mostly listen to a lot of German rap; Fler, Sido, Kool Savas, Azad, Bushido, Manuellsen are some of my favorites. Also German metal; Rammstein, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter. There’s a lot of great German music out there.

Bei mir, ist es eine breite Palette -- von Marlene Dietrich & Sarah Leander zu zeitgenössische Schlager von Hèlene Fischer, Andrea Berg, und Tim Bendzko. Ich lerne Deutsch und finde die Texte super zum Lernen, und natürlich gut zum Mitsingen auch! 🤗
Ich habe mir das Album von AnnenMayKantereit totangehört. Die Band würde ich allen empfehlen. Gute Texte, guter Gesang (mit heiserer Stimme) und gute Musik mit Einfluss von Dylan und Tom Waits. Die Texte habe ich zwar im Klassenzimmer besprochen. Ich bin Deutschlehrer in Brasilien.

Lesen ist meine Empfehlung um die Schprache scvnell zum lernen. Ich bin sei 3 Jahre hier u. spreche siemlic gut. Am anfang mit dem Lesen ginge es nicht einfach aber langsam hab Schritt bei Schritt mich verbessert. Danke furs Vidio.
My first experience with German-language music was from The Beatles, with "Komm gib mir deine Hand," a re-recording of "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Then Nena's "99 Luftballons," and Falco's "Der Kommissar" and "Rock Me Amadeus" (Falco was Austrian, by the way). Hey, young'uns, long before Rammstein, there were the Scorpions, Accept, and Bonfire, fixtures of German rock. I was in Germany from 1989 through 1992, and heard Munchener Freiheit, Ina Deter, Stefan Waggershausen, and Pe Werner. In the Kneipen (pubs and bars), I remember "Marmor, Stein, und Eisen bricht" von Drafi Deutscher, "Er gehoert zu mir" von Marianne Rosenberg, and "Das Altbierlied" from Die Toten Hosen playing overhead. What wonderful memories.

Das erste deutsche Lied, das ich gerne gehört habe war „Das war eine schöne Party“ von France Gall. Es ist eine deutschsprachige Version ihres Liedes „Poupée de cire, poupée de son“. Die Texte sind so süß und ich denke zu oft an sie.

Helene Fischer is the best in my book. Great enunciation. Catchy tunes. Easy to follow lyrics. She’s one of the top female vocalists in the world for a reason. Marlena Martinelli and Stefanie Hertel aren’t too shabby either.

Christina Stürmer. I listen to her everyday for studying German.
Sad that there was hardly any mention of any of the great Krautrock artists like Can and Neu! They were a huge influence on a lot of other artists, like David Bowie and LCD Soundsystem.
They are my music heroes and literally made me appreciate music differently. I wasn't that into music until the day I heard Mother Sky and Negativland. I guess they are at least one of the most important reasons why I love the german culture so much.
