I think they missed the price point by a long shot. Quite simply, there are amps much cheaper yet same quality of build for $150-170 all day long (Recoil 1200.1/2500.1) etc.
Stinger 1500 and ct1500 both do more power, equal or better quality for significantly less cost. Even the recoil 2500 is less, significantly more power and clip remote. Audiopipe, hifonics, soundstream all are losing tons of sales annually mostly because they aren't competitively priced and the car audio consumers' awareness.
There’s nothing wrong with a company trying to move up to a more expensive category but it isn’t done by simply raising prices. As others have noted here, this amp is practically identical to previous models. Audiopipe is still a budget brand and there is simply too many options in that category with way better pricing to justify its purchase.

Good review man. Unfortunately this is basically the same board they've used forever with same fuse and bass knob. I remember these being almost half the price, when they had the pipe logo way back. This is just too overpriced, for the same old amplifier. My opinion is... Recoil for the win.
I see some people complain about the price but sometimes better quality is worth the money, it is just not about the power, Maybe you can do a follow up video explaining that amps should not just be rated as price per watt but also the quality

Other than that, this is a very generic and old class d design. There is nothing high quality about this build house. It’s not a bad amplifier and is reasonably reliable for the masses but high quality it is not. Audiopipe should absolutely rethink their pricing on this amplifier.
Unless he starts pulling distortion measurements he has no method of measuring quality per watt. And even zapco has rough distortion measurements sometimes. As far as build quality we have no way of knowing an amp manufacturers failure rate. Is it .5%, 1%, 2%, 5% or 10%. Being a dealer you have access to those numbers by what gets returned to you. And that's saying every install is perfect.
Audiopipe and quality? You can get a Fosgate Prime 1200.1 which does these same numbers for the same price and you won't ever have any heating, clipping, or failure problems. The thing is built like a tank. This Audiopipe amp should be around $200.

$324+shipping is a little much for this amp. I would buy a Cab-22 or a Taramps smart 3k if you have the electrical for it.
Or a JP13 for 250 that destroys it, jp13 at 4ohms is what this audiopipe did at 2ohms.

I strapped 2 of them together running 4 old Sony grey xplodes in an expedition , man was I pounded 🔊💥💥💥💨

These amps are rugged and can take .5 ohm no problem 😊

I stepped over audiopipe to get the sundown sae v-3 2000d and I’m glad I did that amp takes a beating on sub par electrical
