I went to an American hospital emergency room and was healed that day and my health insurance paid all of my hopital bills. On the other hand on my Alaskan cruise vacation you wouldn't believe the excuses the nurses told me why I couldn't see a doctor at their clinic in a vain attempt to replace my broken blood glucose meter thanks to the airline baggage personnel. For some reason their pharmacies in Vancouver won't sell you one without a doctor's prescription. They wanted me to wait days to see a doctor at that clinic when my cruise leaves tomorrow. I had to go a few days without a blood glucose meter until I bought a replacement one in Juneau within minutes of picking one off the shelf at a drug store without a prescription. Canada has too much government red tape providing very slow and uncaring health care.. Its like you have to be dying before Canadian doctors will see you... And after seeing the attitude of Canadian nurses and the number of patients waiting forever it seems at that clinic. I will NEVER step foot in Canada again...

I've lived in the United States and Canada and point of fact we pay less taxes than our American counterparts and get better services. Why would anybody in their right mind want to willingly join a system where you will pay more, get less value and have less control over our representatives? (gerrymandering and buying politicians is illegal up here). Maybe, if you want a responsible government, lower taxes, affordable education, a fully funded safety net, better services (for less), stronger states rights and competent leadership) you should join us or just subcontract your government and healthcare. However if you are in the high income level you will pay more taxes in Canada than our American neighbours. I've been to the grocery stores today and bought all my groceries made in Canada. I am very careful picking what i want to buy. All are made in Canada, coffee made in Columbia. Some made in Italy, Mexico and Norway. Never made in USA anymore. I support locals from now on.

With this new profit we can fund our own tech industries as well as entertainment industries. It’s time we stop being the U.S.’s piggy bank for making everything including profit. Former Canadian here for almost 50 years and American 10 due to marriage, and yes, we have healthcare in the United States, it cost us , for two, 1100 US, that’s 1500 Canadian a month for decent healthcare. I went to an American hospital emergency room and was healed that day and my health insurance paid all of my hopital bills. On the other hand on my Alaskan cruise vacation you wouldn't believe the excuses the nurses told me why I couldn't see a doctor at their clinic in a vain attempt to replace my broken blood glucose meter thanks to the airline baggage personnel. For some reason their pharmacies in Vancouver won't sell you one without a doctor's prescription. They wanted me to wait days to see a doctor at that clinic when my cruise leaves tomorrow. I had to go a few days without a blood glucose meter until I bought a replacement one in Juneau within minutes of picking one off the shelf at a drug store without a prescription. Canada has too much government red tape providing very slow and uncaring health care.. Its like you have to be dying before Canadian doctors will see you... And after seeing the attitude of Canadian nurses and the number of patients waiting forever it seems at that clinic. I will NEVER step foot in Canada again...

I've lived in the United States and Canada and point of fact we pay less taxes than our American counterparts and get better services. Why would anybody in their right mind want to willingly join a system where you will pay more, get less value and have less control over our representatives? (gerrymandering and buying politicians is illegal up here).

If you are middle or lower income, Canadians pay much less tax than our American neighbours and get significantly better services. However if you are in the high income level you will pay more taxes in Canada than our American neighbours. In fact, high income Americans pay significantly less tax, as a percentage of income, than their less wealthy kin. In Canada it is the reverse.

With this new profit we can fund our own tech industries as well as entertainment industries. It’s time we stop being the U.S.’s piggy bank for making everything including profit. Let’s let Canada become a world leader instead of being just the friendly, helpful nation in the shadow of the U.S. we can do it, Canada was the force that did the most during the European stage of W.W2 to help Europe when the U.S. was busy fighting the Japanese after all. Former Canadian here for almost 50 years and American 10 due to marriage, and yes, we have healthcare in the United States, it cost us , for two, 1100 US, that’s 1500 Canadian a month for decent healthcare. It’s good but not that great. Do you really want to be spending money like that For your healthcare? Your taxes are nowhere enough to compensate for the difference that it will cost you.
