I'm also an Italian speaker, and I confirm what was noted by the others regarding the net exchange. At the end of the match, Nole proved very poor sportsmanship by accusing Nardi of unfairness. Only after that, he congratulated on the win. "You were unfair. It was unfair." Nardi tried to explain, and Nole immediately interrupted him by saying, "but no no no bravo bravo". So yes, he felt the need to go to school and accuse Nardi before congratulating him. Apart from this... I believe that after two not-really-unforgettable sets, we watched an incredible third set where Djokovic raised his level and Nardi was still able to meet and impose his rhythm.

I’m italian and djokovic talked in italian to him so I can translate what he said to nardi:
“It was not fair that point, but anyway you were amazing” So he didn’t apologized but remarked this… And this surely is not a good thing. Thank you for clarifying the hindrance rule coach Nik. This has happened to me occasionally, that my opponent slows down so much that i think he made a call that I did not hear so I slow down also or may even not go for the next ball just like Djokovic did. When he wins, he’s gracious and exhibits exemplary sportsmanship. When he loses, his true color shows. He played poorly and lost to a lesser player. He had too many distractions coming to the tournament. Did a PR show to practice at UCLA, and hit with their #1 player. Hamming up with sabalenka playing soccer for the media. He took the competition lightly. He lost, and he knew why. Inwardly he was beating himself up, and outwardly he was no longer the gracious GOAT he portrayed.

Whenever Novak walks around with that elbow band, he is not going to have a great year 😂 but I think he goes through these motions. It’s not like he’s playing bad. No apology my friend. End of match comments by Novak “no, no, no, non era giusto, però bravo” translates to “no, no, no, it wasn’t right” (implying what you did when you stopped and pointing to the baseline end) “but good on you” (for the win).
Novak was absolutely stamping his authority albeit in defeat and with incorrect judgement of what happened and that is unsportsmanlike for a champion that he is. He just needed to cop the loss and recognise another potential up comer. Correct call by the chair.

I also believe entering clay his motivation will raise up enormously. Right now he is just not there. Clay has a big weight this year for him. Monte Carlo, not Rome neccesary and most important RG and Olympics after Wimbledon. These are his highest priority this Season. It will be only Us Open left for him to fight for after Olympics. Its nothing to do with confidence, the main reason is his drop of motivation. We have to understand 2023 season he completed Goat status, i felt like he is going to drop his performance. At this moment motivation is his biggest enemy. In AO he didnt come as ready and prepared, and flu and wrist issues just made it even worse.

Accoring to the PRESS and not all idiots.. The press said Novak had a meltdown when he approached the chair umpire.I watched the match live and sorry there was no meltdown at all. Novak simply asked questions. Did he shout at the umpire. NO. Did he demand to see a supervisor. NO. Did the chair umpire give Novak a warning. NO? As for the talk when shaking hands many assumed Novak was apologising for his hindrance comment.. Noone knew at the time what was actually said when they spoke at the net and both players walked away without noone looking upset. After the match and even a day later nothing bad was said against Novak. This was not good enough for the press and once again they wanted to make Novak look bad so they brought in a lip reader and then used Novaks words against him over a day after the match to say Novak berated Nardi. Then off course this took a life of it's own as the press knew it would. Then all idiots, yes maybe even you, jumped on board saying Novak hit a new low, ( when in fact it was the press) and berated Nardi. May I remind all idiots that saying to someone" it not fair but you did good" is not berating them and when Nardi said sorry I did not mean to disrespect you Novak said no no no you did good. This is according to the press. I am not a professional lip reader so I cannot comment what actually was said. Novak was not after a apology. Maybe blowing of steam. Whether Novak should of said what he said is not the point. He did not berate Nardi. Nardi was not upset by it as we saw after the handshake. No berating here folks so move on.Seems like everyone has their own definition of words these days and it is wrong. Go educate yourself folks on the true meaning of berate, Nardi lost the next round, as most do when have a great win against a great player. At least this win put his ranking higher which will allow him to enter other tournaments and for that we all have to thank Novak.

Djokovic stopped playing the point because he thought that the serve was called out and so he wanted to challenge the out call. When Nardi stopped moving this seemed to confirm that the serve was called out. Anyways, players should keep playing until the umpire says stop. This years Indian Wells has been very sub par when it comes to the facilities. With inaudible sometimes non existent line calling and bad stadium lighting Mr Mogul Ellison’s long record of a great facility has been tarnished a bit. Wake up Larry, pay attention to business and give your little Hawaiian island a break. Lol

The line calling is automatic--there are no challenges (only replays), and if the call is not made instantly, then it is in. So I'm not sure what your complaint is about the line calling during the tournament. In this case, it was a very close call that both players were unsure about, which explains their confused reaction, but it was not an error in the line calling.

The line calling has been confusing the whole tournament. Even the TV broadcasters have mentioned it several times. The audible system has no visual indication if the ball is in or out. When the crowd starts screaming the players get confused whether to play on or not. The umpires are not even doing an actual job of officiating. They just sit there and argue on behalf of the computers late calls.

Djokovic has hugged his opponents at the net in the past, win or lose.
Have you seen Nadal or FEDERER hug anyone at the net after they lost?
    I haven't .

The stats say Novak made 9 UEs in the whole match, which isn't a whole lot I think. By errors do you mean not hitting the ball cleanly and leaving it short ?

Djokovic needs to try harder he’s just putting the ball in play and letting his opponent control the point.

Novak's errors were caused by windy conditions and bad positioning and set up. I wouldn't make any serious conclusions about current form. Let's see what happens in Miami.

I think Novak has only himself to blame that Davis Cup wasn't necessary at all...I remember Goran was gaginst him playing that citing it would take a toll on him mentally and physically and that's exactly whats happened...If u remember this was the exactly the reason why Marian Vajda split up with him a few years ago when he suggested Nole to skip the Olympics but Nole refused and looked exhausted at the USO and eventually got beaten by Meddy.....I really don't understand Nole here why take the risk he's not young anymore and he looks really disturbed at the moment...He loves playing for his country everyone does but that is when u are younger and ur body can still take it....Hes not only giving a hard time to himself but also to the people that love him Ala his fans and family....
I don't see him winning a GS this year may be a masters that's it...he needs to mentally reboot...There's a huge gap between him and the other 3 Sinner Alcaraz and Meddy....No way he's taking a set off them let alone beating them
