When I did the all rounder in 22 it was definitely the people you meet and the small acts of kindness that I remember most. so much so I am doing it again in 25. cheers enjoyed you vlog.

Look at those views rolling in! Timed it beautifully. Everyone is probably searching "floods" with all this rain as well 😁

Camped at Noccundra on the postie last year & yeah the food is great. Neil & his missus are excellent hosts, the pub is a welcome sight after a long ride. Enjoyed the video, thanks for creating & sharing.

Well done mate great video. Reminded me of my first crossing when it took me 6 goes and I eventually cartwheeled over big red more the rode over it lol. It gets easier with practice. Not a fan of those roads in the wet that was a lot of water. Still better then the ice skating ring the the Strez and Birdsville track becomes after the rain.

    Great vid - thanks!
I was planning a cross-Aus (Byron to Steep) trip to have departed this month (April 2024) but the weather has quite firmly said ‘no’ :).
I’ve got the same bike and tyres are interesting to me: What tyre pressure were you running when you dinged the rim?
MotoZ RallZ or Adventure are brilliant. I went from them to Anakee Wild front and rear and took the Anakees off after 800km and returned to RallZ.
Give the RallZ front a go too - it has way more offroad grip than the Anakee.
A trick with the MotoZ is they can be run at 35 psi everywhere, zero rim damage but comfy and grippy at that pressure. The Anakee had to be aired down to 28-30psi to get the same off tar performance, reducing confidence with rocks.
Running the Anakee at 35psi off tar is harsh and sketchy. Moreso at the rear than the front. And the rear 150 wide Anakee is visually the size of a MotoZ 140 or smaller - they’re tiny.
Was that rear tyre at $180 a 140/80-18 tubed version? The 150/70-18 tubeless version is much much wider and usually goes for around $350.
If you’re keen to try sand again, a simple technique is to have nothing on your passenger area of the seat and sit there - reduces tendency for front end to tuck and the need to death grip. Keep speed over about 50kph and kinda ‘surf’ it around by gently pushing the inside bar and letting the bike tip and wiggle around; a fair bit of throttle to prevent slowing down. It’s a great way to approach that shit coarse gravel too.

25 psi front ...i did ride 18 months back rear tyre was 150 the tyre was the only one in the shop to suit my bike so surprised on price maybe cheaper back then

    Just watched, awesome 👍.
When you made the comment Motoz where 💩 I thought what the F🦆. I've been running Motoz now for years. Desert H.T front & rear on the KTM 690 Enduro & Motoz Adventure tyres on the KTM 1290 , now called Dualventure & seriously I wouldn't use anything less.
Just planning my next Big ride & can't wait.
Anyway great vid, good effort 👍
