I am white.
I have Alopecia Areata
I'm jus learning to make my own wigs. This video is GOLD. thank u
Me, whos planning on making a wig with a fishnet hairnet: 👁👄👁
Lord 😭
Jeeze good thing i came here first before using the weaving cap
Thank you for the info very helpful
Thank you for taking the time to make this video!!! I am sooo glad you suggested to use the wig cap with the removable plastic. I am a beginner wig maker that suffers with perfectionism and is so very turned off by all the dome cap wig making! As a Professional Licensed Cosmetologist I want what’s best for my clients, not a bootleg, shade tree wig. I can say this has held me back some. So ladies if you’re like me try it all, I’m no longer afraid of failing. However, we better start somewhere. Thank you again for wig making 101 💖👏🏾🙌🏾💐
Thank you for making this video. I have had the worse experience with the first two caps. They are so uncomfortable and they pinch my nerve. I deliver mail and I have to be comfortable moving around. Every time I wore a wig that was too tight, I had severe pain. The crazy thing is there are some wigs that are constructed with a bigger cap, I had no problem.
Thank you for this info. I burn up in the summer time and this cap looks breathable and cooler.
What cap should I use when I’m using a sewin machine ?!!!
Thank you for this. I want to start making my own wigs, because I have a hard time finding one I really like. I am so glad you mentioned this cap, because they other two looks suffocating.
I have been wondering about that cap for the longest while, because the others really don't offer enough ventilation. Thanks so much.
Thanks for this info and I will try the cap that you recommend. The traditional don’t have that everybody uses, I no longer like. It’s hot for some of my clients and I have grow as a hairstylist.
Thank you, these caps are cooler for summer and I had the same anxiety about using them.
Girl you are definitely one of the very Best!!!
Wow... I really really appreciate this video. You are knowledgeable, detailed and experienced in your field. I learned so much, I've always been afraid to wear wigs mainly because I don't like the look of wearing a wig ya know! It somehow seems I'll fitting on me idk, but your wig has given me some insight. Thanks sis strong work 👏🏼👏🏼🙂
I'm glad I saw this video. I'm getting into get into wig making and wanted to be sure I do my research on the best caps, etc.
Me too! But wait do we sew on the plastic and then put it in water to melt it off
That’s so true I’m a designer and pattern maker I was wondering how they get the proper measurements for a sewing machine wigs . For Hand sewn wigs you can control the size to the form. Great video !
The same head measurements they use for hand sewing they also use for machine sewing. You also have to purchase the correct size canvass head for your circumference and the correct sized dome cap but....I found that it’s best to go up one inch for a bit of room. I don’t measure the frontal area as this area I tend to cut in the end. The only thing with wig machine and hand sewn is that the machine stitching is pretty tight so to be sure not to stretch out cap as you sew as this will shrink the cap size. Guidelines are also very important and knowing how much tracks and how to space them a head of time as well.
@@jamieleeroche "Be sure not to stretch out cap as you sew as this will shrink the cap size."
This statement you made is puzzling to me. It seems as if it would be larger if you said be sure not to stretch out cap as you sew as this will shrink the cap size.
Please let us know what you mean.
Thanks so much your right when dome caps is used it feels tight not comfortable god bless u
Great video. One thing I would love to see is blonde hair created on that cap so that we can see the work better. Love it! Thank you!!!
Wow I need to start using the Ventilated wig caps now 👍🏾 thanks for the tip
So happy i found this video i am jut start my business and this was very helpful
Will be subscribing... Valuable information plus the caps are super breathable...
I'm new to wig making and I live in a warm climate an I'm nearing menopause so I started looking into different style caps. So I am teaching myself how to construct wigs on a sewing machine with the all caps but definitely with a ventilated cap. I am interested in being a ghost wig maker.
What's a ghost wig maker
Seems like you could add fsbric strips horizontally fot hsnd sewing.
Life saver ‼️‼️thanks for the tips love 🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is awesome. The best info on the web
Everybody wants to use dome caps lol. When you buy a wig at the store, it's never on a dome cap
I always thought about that. I dont like the open though. I look for closed because hair gets all stuck inside and then it starts to pull out, making those return spike things and im sensitive. I do sweat a lot but even closed caps arent like dome kind for quick wigs. They are thick!!!! Her sewing is so good. i go deep and get it attached to my plastic and canvas head... Lol anyone else do that? No one talks about it.
God Bless YOU please send info or link on cap. Also I would love a 101 with you, sincerely.
Hi, I just found your video and I am soooo glad, because I am tired of trying to make a cap fit or stick Bobbie pins or glue on my wig. Where can I purchase one and can I see by hand on it, I see on the sides it has a mesh looking material.
which wig would you prefer handmade and or to make a crochet wig.
Thank you so much, so helpful to beginners like me.
Thank you for this. Very informative. Thumbs up
Is the cap you are recommending good to give a secure fit for someone with hair loss around front of hairline?
when i use the dome, over time the elastic stretches all the way out and i need to sew an elastic band so it can fit on my head.
Yes i experience the same thing 😩
I wish you could’ve showed us how you weave it so I can use that won’t have to use the other one. Just starting out
YOU ARE FREAKING AMAZING THANK YOU
Thank you so much for sharing 💕💕💕
What cap would you recommend if you are making a boxed braided wig?
They make cornrows caps that you could crotchet one into
Hi! Thank you so much for making this video. Which wig cap would be best for a u-part wig?
Thank you... Now I can buy them in bulk ♥️
If you find a bulk vendor for the right plastic cap can you let me know please?
Thank you for doing reviews on the wig caps. What is the name of the last wig cap , and where can i buy it?☺
Ventilated wig cap. Ali express or Amazon
Dang i wish i saw this video before i went to the beauty supply store 😭. I will def use this guide for my next wig
What kind of cap would you suggest a person use to cover up no edges? I want to make a braided wig once I get all of the supplies that I need
Please, can you link me on to use that correct wig cap. Thank you
So is the mesh or satin cap better?
Yes I’m trying to figure out why it keeps rippling
Hi what kind of wig cap would you use with a 7x7 closure
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
what about that extra piece along the front and sides? do we sew on that, or do we cut it?
De tanto assistir videos de como fazer o UA-cam me indicou, hora de testar o inglês!
This is good thank you
Omg can I send you my wig or new bundle /frontal to make my wig?? 😩
Excellent video.
Those are air holes where you can get air in your head but I like the clothes one because the simple fact that hair don't go in between
These caps look like they don’t stretch. Do they have different sizes?
Thank you helped out alot
Can you do a braided wig,on the cap you've recommended.
Thanks you for your help
I made a wig for a client and one complaint I had was the bulkiness in the back of the head and it not laying flat will this take care of that problem
Great video!
Would you recommend ventilated caps for those who are dealing with hair loss?
How would you make a side part wig with this cap?
Thank you so much
I appreciate this video and the enlightenment, but I'm a little intimidated by that plastic. I really hope it isn't much trouble getting it off.
🥺 Thank You
Where do you get this cap from
Where do u give courses at? By any chance you sale videos? If they still do that
So that wig cap fits all head sizes how do you sew on that cap if you make hand made wigs
What wig will you use when the client has a circumference of 25-26?
Sounds like an 👽
Thank you
Can I hand sewn with cap?
Thank you for sharing this video. I’m new here and would love to get into/learn wig manufacturing. Can you point me in the right direction?
Started making a wig but it's too packed.. Is it bad
Can you use a frontal on these caps?
😍I love it ❤️👌👍. Where can I please get that ??? I need 3 of that
Hi, I didn’t get the name of the cap you recommend. Is it called stretchable weaving cap?
My canvas block is 24...cuz my head...I got a dome. Haha
Hi, can you hand sew on the ventilated caps?
@Tree • Yes u can here’s a link ua-cam.com/video/FFLSf3m5V_0/v-deo.html
On the plastic cap, can I still sew it in by hand? Since I don't have a machine?
Great question- I’m wondering the same thing???
Yes you can. There is no difference
We need a video on that
Yes i would like to know how to use those new caps
How do you know your head size I want to make my own wigs
Jesus answered my prayers 😭🙏🏽 thank u! 💖
When you using the ventilated caps, do you initially sew the hair onto the plastic and then remove the plastic when finished the wig?
That’s what I’m wondering ?
@@tashab.7339 these people need to stop posting videos with little info
Seriously
@@tashab.7339 well guess wat...I actually took a class and yes u do sew on cap and then u peel it off...only thing is it’s tedious to peel off the plastic on some caps
Wow thanks a lot. Have you tried it yet ?
The issue I see is she's using a display wig head instead of a canvas block head. Display heads are 11 inches on average...half the size of an actual head.
As long as your measurements are used, you'll get the results you want. Watch a video on measuring. Because for some reason the display model is throwing you off. Forget about the display head and only listen to the person talking.
I don’t understand how to use these... help
Watch it again, that helps.
What type of cap should we use for half wigs and headband wigs???
The last mannequin head on the right. The one that is fully lace. well. I had this idea that I could sew it to my head and then sew my weave ontop.is this a bad idea ?
It sure sounds like it. You want as much ventilation as possible. Respect your scalp. It needs to breathe and grow hair.
@@deborahpetty4873 I did it, LOL I bought one that was full lace with lots of room for air. I put three bundles and a 6X6 closure. So far my head isn’t that hot this summer, we will see what happens when it comes out 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
That's not plastic that's water soluble stabilizer so just make sure that your stitching on the actual fabric and don't worry about the "plastic" because once you're done with the wig you dip it in warm water and that stabilizer will disappear.

Hi there do you find that the dome caps bunch up when using the sewing machine or are talking about in general even when making a wig by hand ?
Afia Belle I had the same issue it never happened before 😢when I hand sew it does happened but the sewing machine stretched my cap its horrible
Let Me Share my Story Ohh wow and this is with the dome cap?
I experience that a lot
Afia Belle no I make wigs by hand all the time and dome caps never bunch up or cause any problems for me
Wow! But most ppl prefer the dome cap tho...
Thanks for this video, Sis.♥️🙏🏾
Because it is a little quicker and easier to make. They have less ventilation. A true wig wearer will notice right away. We want as much ventilation possible.
@@deborahpetty4873 ok, that’s true. Thank you! 🙏🏾
So it’s called a fishnet hairnet ?
So what cap can i use frontals for ?
Any of the caps.
I really enjoyed your video. I have experienced some of those issues with the stretch caps. Where can I get the ventilated caps at a good wholesale price?
Amazon too. They have the heads, thread, etc. etc. They have everything you need.
@@deborahpetty4873 I’ve ordered two from Amazon. Smelled dank and musty. I ended up ordering from Aliexpress.
Amazon has these caps in sizes small- large.
What size do you usually get I see they have s, m, and large?
Ashley Drayden measure ur head
Where can i get you
I can't find the right one to buy in Ghana
I shift my wigs to the side to made a side part, and I’m using a ventilated cap for the first time. Do I/can I cut the ear tabs off?
They make ventilated caps without the ear tabs.
Where do i find a ventilated wig cap for wig making?
Amazon
What is this cap called ?
Wig cap. Google it for a place to buy.
If using the ear to ear closure, can that be a clueless wig?
Wow I bought that plastic wig cap by accident and when i opened it I threw it away 😩
Not funny, but I know what you mean. I hate when that happens lol
😭😭😭😭
The name of the suggested prouduct
So are the other 2 caps non breathable
The more ventilation, the better. Just look at the other caps. You decide!
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I went to a couple wig making classes and I felt time and money was wasted. Why is it that almost everyone that making wigs use a du rag like dome cap and people are paying $500 and up into the thousands for wigs. Now I am excited about making wigs again.
