    Thank you for taking the time to make this video!!! I am sooo glad you suggested to use the wig cap with the removable plastic. I am a beginner wig maker that suffers with perfectionism and is so very turned off by all the dome cap wig making! As a Professional Licensed Cosmetologist I want what’s best for my clients, not a bootleg, shade tree wig. I can say this has held me back some. So ladies if you’re like me try it all, I’m no longer afraid of failing. However, we better start somewhere. Thank you again for wig making 101 💖👏🏾🙌🏾💐

    Thank you for making this video. I have had the worse experience with the first two caps. They are so uncomfortable and they pinch my nerve. I deliver mail and I have to be comfortable moving around. Every time I wore a wig that was too tight, I had severe pain. The crazy thing is there are some wigs that are constructed with a bigger cap, I had no problem.

    That’s so true I’m a designer and pattern maker I was wondering how they get the proper measurements for a sewing machine wigs . For Hand sewn wigs you can control the size to the form. Great video !

    • @jamieleeroche
      @jamieleeroche 3 роки тому +3

      The same head measurements they use for hand sewing they also use for machine sewing. You also have to purchase the correct size canvass head for your circumference and the correct sized dome cap but....I found that it’s best to go up one inch for a bit of room. I don’t measure the frontal area as this area I tend to cut in the end. The only thing with wig machine and hand sewn is that the machine stitching is pretty tight so to be sure not to stretch out cap as you sew as this will shrink the cap size. Guidelines are also very important and knowing how much tracks and how to space them a head of time as well.

    • @deborahpetty4873

      @@jamieleeroche "Be sure not to stretch out cap as you sew as this will shrink the cap size."
      This statement you made is puzzling to me. It seems as if it would be larger if you said be sure not to stretch out cap as you sew as this will shrink the cap size.
      Please let us know what you mean.

      I always thought about that. I dont like the open though. I look for closed because hair gets all stuck inside and then it starts to pull out, making those return spike things and im sensitive. I do sweat a lot but even closed caps arent like dome kind for quick wigs. They are thick!!!! Her sewing is so good. i go deep and get it attached to my plastic and canvas head... Lol anyone else do that? No one talks about it.

      The more ventilation, the better. Just look at the other caps. You decide!

    Thank you Thank you Thank you. I went to a couple wig making classes and I felt time and money was wasted. Why is it that almost everyone that making wigs use a du rag like dome cap and people are paying $500 and up into the thousands for wigs. Now I am excited about making wigs again.
