      It should be forbidden to unlike this video. The low push should have been exceptionally removed by UA-cam. Another analysis is that the finger of these 63 haters may have accidentally clicked on the wrong thumbnail. Otherwise I have no other explanation... FEW WORDS.

      +Noskeal Well put! I don't even know _what_ this movie is about, but I'm only 2 minutes in and already hooked.
      This cinematography is on the same level as *_Terence fucking Mallick_*. And that's saying something...
      What's crazy is...the opening shots of this focus entirely on the Winter Temperate Forest ecosystem. Imagine if this same film crew shot _every_ ecosystem on earth? Jungles, the arctic, deserts, tundra, coral reefs, mountain ranges, etc. And why not add human ecosystems to the mix....aboriginal tribes, small villages, cities, and mega metropolises. I know Planet Earth and other docs have done this before....but there's just something truly special about the opening scenes of _this_ movie; the lack of narration, the perfectly suited music, and of course the gorgeous cinematography. I'd pay to see this same film crew make sans-narration docs on any other subject. I'm just kind of in awe at how good this is.... :)

    The first time I heard about Candide was when I was about 10 years old.
    I rented a VHS of the 1999 Winter Gravity Games and Candide won the Big Air competition against Johnny Mosley (who is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met)
    I was absolutely floored by Candide. I rented that VHS more times than I could count… in fact if I remember right, the rental shop had a deal where if you rented a VHS more than 20 times, you could keep it… and I think we still have it somewhere at my step mom’s house.
    Though I ended up snowboarding, Candide has been one of my biggest influences for wanting to get into snow sports, and now I’m a member of snowmaking leadership for a major resort in Colorado.
    THANK YOU CANDIDE!!!

    Not just the greatest skier ever. One of the greatest athletes ever too. He deserves so much respect, and comparison to all the other "greatest at their sports". But watching Candide spreads more joy for me than any winner of the 100m, Tour de France or whatever else you care to name. Perhaps Messi, at his most magical, did things so absurd that he made the world laugh with pure elation. Candide is like that. Watching him is a pleasure. It makes anyone feel great.

    • @jw3505
      @jw3505 3 роки тому +1

      I definitely consider him the Messi of skiing. Nobody else has ever made what they do look so natural. He should be more widely known, but considering he doesn’t do public stuff it’s not really surprising.

    • @notreubensandwich
      @notreubensandwich 7 місяців тому

      I was just comparing Candide to Messi in my mind haha Only these 2 men ever made me emotional watching them create and perform. Both their movements seems so insync with nature. I could spot a Messi dribble from a mile away and same with a Candide line... I can just spot him even if he's skiing straight. Only these two make this a religious experience for me and nobody else. I've watched this video atleast 2-3 dozen times just like I've watched some of Messi's. You can't explain them.. just experience them.

When the Doctors said I would be back, the motivation to get back the fitness and on the mountain was immense.I’m so grateful for every day I’m back. What's crazy about the film is it builds the mystic of Candide without him actually narrating or even talking on the film. I love the end when he falls on the pond and then does his little dance at end of bridge, again only adding to the mystic and gives him that playful yet not taking himself too seriously even though what he does is totatlly whacked for most and completely from the heavens when you watch and out of reach for 99.9% of humans.

    Myself a very mediocre skier who sticks mainly to blue/ red slopes with occasional black one very slowly and painfully. To watch such talent, Candide is so one with the nature, the freedom he exudes and shares with us. I can only view these splendid landscapes through his lens. I am in awe of such abilities and freedom and fun! Formidable et surtout merci pour ce très beau film. Cet homme est un vrai ressort: he takes a tumble and springs back. If I fall into powder, you’ll have to wait for snow to melt in spring to see me again😅. Such agility. Beautiful and inspiring.

    I am amazed at how the sub-atomic particles in Candide's body responded so well to his love of living in his body through skiing. Not a matter of mind over matter but getting out of the way to allow matter manifest the drive of being. Candide, c'est inspirant ton histoire.
