I like this perfume. Like you said, it is complicated and "bad ass"! I think it would've been nice if it had a little dark fruit in it too...like plum or black current. Like those notes with leather. This is unique, like you, and I love that in a perfume and in a person. Dare to be different. ;)

Great review, thanks. I agree it is super kick ass. I sampled it over 10 years ago, and it really made an impression. It slapped me in the face with an ashtray full of cigarette butts. I guess it's the massive vetiver that comes across as an agressive oud? I hope you will review Fracas sometime...Best to you

I had a very small sample of this, not really enough to review, I did really enjoy wearing it though. Lovely tuberose!! I personally prefer more modern tuberoses however.

Just to help put you out of your misery with trying to identify aldehydes, Talcum powdery CLEAN, would best accurately describe. Though synthetic, not at all obnoxious as one would imagine rather alleviates other more obnoxious notes, such as are prevalent in todays trendy market especially of the primarily men’s marine tones. Chanel 5 /Chanel 22, Lanvin Arpege , Estee Lauder White LInen, Miss Dior, Oscar de Laurentis Oscar, Madame Roches, Van Cleefe Arpels First and for sure Bandit are classic examples of aldehydes. My own stand apart would be YSL RIVE GAUCHE my personal STAPLE. Sad that these are have replaced the tuber rose and lavender to now be classified as “grandma” fragrances, however they will return as they are CLASSIC, rather than the trendies of today, which as the vapor they present will soon be forgotten. Kudos for the Piguet review though, piqued my interest as second to aforementioned RIVE GAUCHE, his BAGHARI is only second, gorgeous, also aldehyde, however more subtle than the rest rather sharing the limelight equally with the citrus, CLEAN AND FRESH.

Oh tons! hehe. I always try when I can to get the matching cream to my fragrance, it just enhances it that bit more. I found bath&body works creams to be nice and strong. But...if not..I get unscented lotion and spray some perfume into my hand to combine them and then wear that. :) Good little tip.

Do you work in Harrods? You remind me of the guy who works in the Roja Dove room

maria jose arevalo hello! Yes I have. It's very pretty. There's is a girl at my work who had a sample and let me spray it. I wouldn't say it's anything unique or unusual but it's very pleasant. It has leather in it but I found it to be soft and clean on first impression. I haven't done a full wearing. Just a spray in my hand.

+j ule Hi there, thanks for the comment. I have in fact tried mitsouko and have a sample. Unfortunatley it's a Chypre, and Chypre's are my least favourite type of fragrance haha. Toooooo much oakmoss in there. :)

Ouch...I would love to hear your take on Mitsouko even if you don't like it. I have it and I do like it, but there is something in it that can be unpleasant at times when smelling it closely. I'd like to know if you get that, and what you think it is.

Hello!!!! I have a sample of it actually but ya know, I'm a bit scared of it as it's a classic Chypre which is my worst category of fragrance. Eeeek! I'll dig it out. :)
