Costas Mandylor coming back as Mark Hoffman in Saw X makes me super hyped for this film. Hoffman was always my favourite character in the whole franchise and that includes John Kramer.
I didn’t even care about Saw X at all, up until hearing this. Now I’m curious. It could actually be decent.

Yeah Jake I definitely agree with that picture of the kid being the detective from Spiral. Would be heavily surprised if it wasn't. I think he definitely met John Kramer when he was a kid. The timeline fits perfectly.

Yes, bring back Hoffman! I have a theory but it's out there... the kid is Gideon, John's son. We learn Jill never actually miscarried, but kept Gideon from John because she didn't want him following in his dad's footsteps. But Gideon, now an adult, does take up the Jigsaw mantle and all the apprentices are tested. I dunno, it sounds crazy but then they could at least let John Kramer rest in piece after this one and move on with his son being the next Jigsaw.
The idea of them all being tested before Saw 3 would be a good reason for Logan’s absence… he could have failed (but survived) and was cast out as a result. The same for Gordon, but John keeps him as a secret asset. However, the problem is in Saw VI Amanda asks Hoffman (in a flashback to Saw III) “When’s your test, Detective?” Which means other than the Shotgun Chair, he wasn’t in another trap up to that point in time.
I am actually starting to appreciate Hoffman more this time around. I really didn’t care for him during my first run thru the series, being in John Kramer’s wake. But I’m developing an appreciation for what he was able to do for Jigsaw’s legacy after John’s death. It really isn’t all about John, it’s about the game John unleashed upon the world, a game of 4D chess that keeps playing itself, expanding infinitely outward in concentric circles, like a spiral 🌀

Why is Saw X not going to be a 4 way battle to see who will carry on the Jigsaw Legacy. Dr. Gordon Vs. Logan vs. Hoffman vs. Schenk. This is what the fans need. Wrap it up, and make it all make sense.
Hoffman is dead but everyone else could still fight each other...

In saw......anything is possible. Hoffmans discovered body could of been a decoy. And either Schenk or Logan helped him escape.
Note...Key piece of evidence. In Saw final Chapter...Hoffman was attacked by 3 men in pig masks before being thrown into the game over room. We know Dr. Gordon was one of them. I'm guess Schenk and Logan were the other 2 and 1 could of helped him escape.
@@robertnewett5932 Actually the director of the movie has comfirm that the other two masked figures were Brad and Ryan, the two guys that had the same girlfriend from the begging of the movie!
Schenk is not an official Jigsaw like all the others! And Logan, much like Hoffman and Amanda has broken the "We don't kill for no reason" rule, so I doudt dr Gorgon would be willing to team up with him!
If we ever see those three together, I think dr Gordon would kill Logan like he did with Hoffman and he would put Schenk through a test to make him an official jigsaw!

Okay good insight. But im still banking on Hoffman escaping that bathroom, and a decoy body could of been placed there. Hoffman carried saw 4 through 7 and it would be a great twist for saw x... It just has to be executed with care.

Yes, I did read recently that Saw X may take place between the 2nd and 3rd film, so maybe I'll refer to it at "Saw 2.5?" If this is true, they technically could bring back a lot of faces if the actors are interested. Hoffman, Officer Rig, Kerry, Matthews or see more of Dr. Gordon in the background. Only nitpick is we already know their fates so not a ton of stakes... Thanks for the video!

That is tricky. Too much young age makeup and camera filter tricks need to be done in order to make all these characters look young again. Remember saw 2 and 3 came out like 17/18 years ago. Seems like a lot of suspending belief.
Kind of a weird thought, but with both Dr. Gordon and Logan being doctors, and both accomplices to Jigsaw, what if they met and worked together

I have not watched Jigsaw or Spiral more than once but im a huge nerd for the original seven films and they have had an impact on me since my teenage years.
I am very pleased by the fact that they chose not to reboot the saga, and that after almost two decades Kramer and his saga are still so relevant and known that it is worth to make something new revolving around him.
I am not sure too sure about what story they want to tell in Saw X cos it is very hard to come up with something that is worth telling and we dont know about, and also make sure it fits into the existing 7 films and not conflict/devalue or even retcon anything we already know.
I mean the most nearby story would have been to continue where Saw 7 left off and tell us what happened to Hoffman and Dr Gordon and the other disciples.
But in a way i can see why they decided not make Saw 8,9,10.. about Detective Hoffman (because he would have survived anyway) and put an end there.
That is also why it took them 7 years to make a new installment bacause, even though you said theres a lot still to be told, i believe there really isnt.
So yeah i think it is definitely not an easy task to come up with something new and interesting but also plausible and fit and pay tribute to the original timeline.
Seeing the last 2 films and looking at the Industry as a whole, i realistically do not have too high hopes for it being up the there with the original continuity when this comes in cinemas, but i am hyped nonetheless.

Jigsaw > Spiral by miles. Eleanor became one of my favorites & Logan was very interesting. I fucking hated Spiral. Ignored Logan/Eleanor while creating another killer lmao. I do NOT want to see anything Spiral in Saw X. Spiral spat on the Saw legacy. Rather see more of Eleanor in present day or hell, bring Logan into the fold.

Just confused why you started talking about Spiral when the vid was about saw x?
Spiral was kind of mid could have been worse could have been better . I also don’t see Carey coming back since he barely seemed like he wanted to do saw 7 lol.
Wasn't my favorite Saw (the twist bogs it down for sure) but I really enjoyed the brutality of the traps. The performances are some of my favorite from the entire franchise too, but I seem to be in the minority on that take.
I have to imagine that Max's character will be in there but it has to be when when he was younger when his dad was shot. You can't tell me that the thought of Jigsaw potentially taking in William whether by adoption or whichever because we all know John wanted to be a dad.

Also also.... what if Jigsaw didn't die. YES we saw his body BUT what if it WASN'T his body, it was another corpse with a fake head. Because the Med who showed Hoffman the body did say he worked on ALL the victims of Jigsaw. What if he was working with them as well and fooled Hoffman. And the way Jigsaw survived was because of Dr. Lynn. She successfully removed the tumor/cancer. I mean jigsaw was FULLY aware of his surroundings he even tried to negotiate with Jeff before he slit his throat (WHICH WASN'T A DEEP CUT).
ALSO ALSO..... I STILL THINK ADAM IS ALIVE... GORDON SAVED HIM.
There is a theory that Adam never died, with some really convincing evidence. I hope its true, i really liked his character. Oh and also, the guy that played Adam is literally the creator of Saw franchise, so.....fingers crossed :)
Most people are so ungrateful to be alive, but not you not anymore.
The one thing that has always kept me away from these films is the flashing/strobing lights, take that away and I really dig them!
I love Chris Rock and I hope his character shows back up in the Saw Universe. And I didn't dislike Spiral, I just felt the ending was weak for a ton of reasons.
But hear me out... Hoffman goes crazy and chews off his own foot after weeks of drinking toilet bowl water. He limps out of the bathroom and puts Billy's face on his own as a mask, and uses the rusty saw as a weapon and becomes just a pure SLASHER killing any survivors from the series. And Chris Rock has to HUNT HIM DOWN!!! 🎉

I’m not sure if that’s confirmed or not. It makes sense if that’s the case though!
As far as I believe, we need the big three to return to bring the series to the high of Saw VI: Tobin, Shawnee, and Costas. Two are confirmed. Costas would seal the deal for my excitement.
That being said, I DO however, want Logan and Eleanor to return in the future. I absolutely love those two, Eleanor was to me easily the best new character in Jigsaw.
Long term-wise, to continue to succeed, we need a villian that can match John Kramer’s level of great. I feel if they develop Logan some more, he could work. Hoffman has been close to the best next villian, but he too will likely have to be retired from the series at some point.
Gordon could go either way. Eleanor could easily be the next Amanda going forward.
My dream midquel would have at least John, Logan, Hoffman, and Amanda all working together and establish where Logan was during the events of the first seven films. Dr. Gordon is optional, as I do believe only John and Jill knew about him being an apprentice… though if he did indeed work with Hoffman and Amanda, it might explain how the Angel Trap and Spike Trap were set up, it also could serve to explain the used needles in Saw II and the key stitched into William’s side in Saw VI. This would make it so Hoffman during Saw VII THINKS he has an ally in case things go south trying to get back at Jill, only to then be shocked that Dr. Gordon betrayed him (though the way those events played out. I don’t think this idea fits the timeline).
Besides Hoffman’s fate… there are three things I want answered…
One of them is the few early victims we weren’t shown prior to Seth’s death, for at least one of them had to have used Billy in order for Hoffman to know about the puppet and use it for Seth’s trap.
The second one is how the police figured out in four days that Amanda was an apprentice.
The biggest one for me is I want it made official who those two were that helped Gordon get Hoffman. For now, I still believe one of them was Logan, and unless they pulled a twist of “Eleanor was following them the whole time” twist and make her the other one, the only suspect I’ve ever had was Daniel Matthews as an act of revenge.
All in all, I’m feeling more optimistic about the series going foward in spite of how the last two films split the fanbase.

You know X means 10 in Roman numerals, right? They're calling it Saw 10.

Hey looky there! It's one of my pet peeve linguistic arguments once again rearing its deformed head from deep within its own anus. "X" does not "literally mean" 10. X is one of the most common symbols throughout human history, and each use can take on one or more among dozens of potential meanings depending mostly on the context and audience.
Your argument, at least as I understand it (correct me if I'm wrong), is that he is *wrong* to pronounce the final symbol in the title as "ex" rather than "ten". What evidence do you have for that? Please clarify who you mean by "they" (>"They're calling it Saw 10"). Have you heard pronunciations from anyone who has actually worked on the film? If so, please send a link because I sure haven't. Either way, I don't think you have a strong argument for labeling either pronunciation as *wrong*. I'm quite confident they intentionally stylized the title as "Saw X" specifically because it's ambiguous and embraces double meanings. Yes, it is the tenth film. But the branding tactic of including an "X" in a name to increase the apparent edge has been in wide practice since at least the early 90s. Just wait until you hear how the crew pronounced "Jason X" (2002), which was also the tenth film. The director of "Fast X" (2023) explicitly stated in an interview that the title is pronounced "fast ten". What about the people who say "jason ten" or "fast ex"? Are they wrong? There's some room for argument here, but I'd say no. They may not use the most common pronunciation, but the present ambiguity (which, again, was certainly intentional) justifies their pronunciation as well. Tomato, tomato!
There are plenty more examples, I would love to go through some of them. e.g. Planet X (pronounced "ex") would have been the tenth planet when it was first hypothesized; Malcolm X was certainly not the tenth Malcolm; The Xbox Series X is not the tenth series of Xbox; etc. Let me know if you need more! I would also love to hear your attempt to explain the title "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later" (1998). That one holds a dear place in my heart, as it takes this concept of ambiguity one step further.
In conclusion, both pronunciations are reasonable, and the one the studio uses will likely become the most common pronunciation. Either way, not being a dick costs absolutely nothing, so why not just be kind and let people say what they want? You were only confident in "correcting" him because you clearly understood the information in his message. If the information is clear, what change could possibly improve his message?
