The main takeaway from this is that children are inherently selfish and that they should not be given pets, for they will inevitably abuse them. Pets are not a toy. You must be responsible for them, care for them, and children are too immature for something like this. Just because they're Hamsters doesn't mean they deserve to be a stepping-stone for children to learn responsibility.
I don’t think the kids are the problem but the parents who don’t teach their kids how to handle a pet. Kids are fully able of taking care of animals. They just need guidance like any other person.
My hamster is nocturnal and he just sleeps all day so don’t bother him, but at night I try to play with him. I give him food and water, and I give him carrots. I love him from to the sun and back.
