God uses people’s sin and wrongdoing all throughout the Bible to accomplish his purpose. In 1 Kings 22:19-23 God approves of allowing one of the heavenly hosts to be a lying spirit in the mouth of Ahab’s prophets. God used the sin of Joseph’s brothers for Good. Most, importantly, God used the most evil act in the history of the world to accomplish redemption. The torture and crucifixion of his blameless, Holy, Son..and it was not God just making the best of a bad situation. The cross was ordained before the foundation of the earth. What men meant for evil, God meant for good. He tells the Assyrian king, “I am going to use you like a rod of my anger”. To trample the godless nation (Israel) into the streets. Then he said he’s going to punish the Assyrian king for doing it because his intentions were selfish and because he wanted to do it for plunder. Because God has a purpose for everything. Including the evil he allows. That’s why the Bible teaches us that all things work for good for those who love God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, [9] not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Romans 11:6 ESV But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. Justified by works in the eyes of others. Justified by faith in the eyes of God 🙏❤️✝️
