Do NOT trim your blocks or batting down! We will do that in Part 2! ua-cam.com/users/shorts3wRvw6IjYQA
I love your sweet baby kitty she sure loves cuddles from her mama😊
Agh! She’s so sweet! I had 3 male feral cats that I feed and about 3 weeks ago I noticed another cat. Then I found out she’s got 2 kittens. Not good! I hope I can get ahold of a gentleman that traps feral cats to get them fixed. Pray that all will work out. As long as there all fixed I don’t mind feeding them. Love your QAYG.
Oh Linda, Only Barney and her first litter (Dash, Gray & Slash) are fixed. The rest weren't friendly enough for me to get my hands on and we lost our county vet and there are no low cost vets or spay/neuter clinics around so mine are, unfortunately, reproducing. This area desperately needs a mobile spay/neuter vet. It cost me $700 to get Dash, Gray & Slash fixed. I just can't afford it. There were 13 cats at dinner tonight and there are tiny kittens all over the place. I don't know what to do.
Thanks for watching. I'm so loving learning about QAYG!
@@70acres man, that sure is expensive! I told JoAnn about my situation. She lists all the cats and dogs on Facebook that are missing or someone found trying to find the owner. She told me that Jerry will come by with a trap and they will take care of everything. Then they will bring her back to my house. Hopefully, I can get in touch with Jerry tomorrow. Pray, that she will go into the trap whenever he comes out with it. We had 2 armadillos trying to eat the dry cat food tonight. My husband squirted them with water. I can’t afford to feed them, too. Mark read that they don’t like Cayenne pepper. I guess I’ll have to buy some and sprinkle it around the porch. Hope it works. Yeah, your area definitely needs a low cost spay and neuter clinic. The only cat that comes to me is already fixed because his ear is clipped. Wish the other ones would let me pet them.
Too fun and happy!! Just bright wonky block's......SueAnn from Idaho....fall is here and just so beautiful and crisp air.....
Thanks so much for watching, Sueann!
Fun colors. Kaffe is so gorgeous
I can't get enough of those colors! They just make me happy! Thanks for watching, Cheryl.
LOVE it! Lovely colors and patterns. I appreciate the helpful instructions and demonstration. Thank you for sharing this with us. ☺️🙏🦓💖
Thanks so much for watching, Liz! God bless! 🥰💕✝️
Dash.....welcome aboard.....too cute
She is so special. Thanks so much for watching, Sueann!
Wonky and QAYG, doesn't get any better than that!!
This QAYG is truly addicting! Thanks for watching, Linda!
Wow that was so quick and easy. Thanks
Hi Lori, thanks for watching. This was such a fun quilt!
The LOOK on her face!!! such a lovely cat!!! I just got a wonky ruler to make wonky log cabins, but I can't figure it out!! Lots of scraps to practice on...
Love your quilt squares. So happy you did this demo. This is the only QAYG technique I use and have made king size quilts. I appreciate your tutorials very much.
I reevaluated cutting the batting down. I'm not trimming any of the blocks until they are done and then we will proceed with joining. I'm so enjoying learning QAYG. It is so freeing knowing I can't physically man handle big quilts through a machine to quilt them! Thanks for watching, Anna!
Loving this
Thanks for watching, Cheryl!
Embrace your Wonky! Precious kitty! Mine will keep me company too. One of my cats who has since passed was my quilt tester. Take care!
Thanks for watching, Marion. Kitties are such great quilting companions!
I absolutely love Dash! ❤️ 🥰 The look on her face was pure bliss as you held and loved on her. And a wonky log cabin is next best to pure bliss on our little loved baby's faces 😊.
I hope all is well with you Melissa. You will be in my prayers 🙏 ❤️.
Hi Amber, thanks so much for watching. Dash is an amazing kitty. I keep you in my prayers as well. 🥰😽✝️
Oh my gosh, I loooove your sewing room. Especially at time 5:37. It looks just like mine, only yours maybe a little more organized then mine. It warms my heart to see a real sewing room instead of a photo ready, perfectly spotless one. Love your video's.
Thanks for watching, Ronda! That room started out as a "library" but when my health went south I realized I couldn't walk over to my studio. I moved my sewing to the house so I could keep sewing. Those shelves were for books and collectables.
Melissa this tremendously helpful! I have never been able to wrap my head around how to get “wonky “ correctly. Thanks a million! 👍🏼😃🇨🇦
You are so welcome, Kelley! This is a 3 parter and will be lots of fun. I ordered the border fabric today!
I am also curious to see how you trim the blocks before joining them.
That will be in Part 2. I'm not trimming the blocks or the batting until they are all done and I'm ready to join them.
SueAnn from Idaho.....the more I watch .....the more I love these
Thanks so much for watching, Sueann!
I’m sure we use a very similar technique for the quilt as you go. I cut my batting about 1/8 inch larger than what I want the square to be. Then the backing piece works out perfectly.
Again, thanks for watching, Anna. I've been studying Monica Poole and think I'm going to sign up for her master class. This process is fascinating and I love it!
@@70acres I just checked out Monica on you tube. Another person to subscribe to. Lol. I use the technique from Missouri star on the tutorial Jenny does that shows vintage hankies. Can do any size. I totally agree with you, we can’t keep wrestling with those big, heavy quilts. I will check Monica’s tutorials today.
Here is her channel: www.youtube.com/@PatternPooleTV
I have some gorgeous hankies I got on Amazon. I might try to plan a QAYG quilt with them. I also have some vintage butterfly and lady blocks.
This process is a lot of fun!
Dash!!!! Gorgeous kitty!!!! I've always wanted to do a QAYG, but I've always wondered how you connect all the blocks!!! So glad you're doing these tutorials
Thanks for watching, Shannon! She is such an amazing kitty! I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos. I just posted a Part 1A short video with a quick update and the joining video will come out on Friday.
Melissa, thank you for your witness!!
Thanks for watching, Wanda!
I really like the block with kaffe fascett fabric
Thanks for watching, Betty! I do love his fabrics!
You make it look easy!!! Beautiful fabrics. Love the look of the block!! Ty❤😊❤🎉
Thanks so much for watching, Kathy! I'm having fun with these. Love ya!
Great colors!
They are pretty epic! Thanks for watching, Diann!
Love this!!! Thanks for the tutorial! ❤
Thanks for watching, Lynne!
I always have a mistake in my quilts and keep them in nothing is perfect except our Heavenly Father.🙏
Amen, Sister! Thanks for watching, Vicki. God Bless!✝️📖🥰
You got it! ❤
I can’t find the seam roller you are using from TEMU. Can you share the name f it so that I purchase the one you recommend? I do enjoy your videos and appreciate your instruction😊
Here is a link for you. Thanks for watching, Rene! share.temu.com/rW7eZP9sIRA
I am a little confused. You place the yellow square off center. Are you still doing the same number of light/dark strips on each side around it? If so, wouldn't you need to use some narrower strips on the short side? Or do you stop on a side once you have filled that space?
Thanks for watching, Marty! I am making wonky log cabins where the yellow hearth stone will be in different locations. I'm not counting strips so I just do the 2 lights & 2 darks until the space is filled.
I did rethink the blocks a bit and am now working with the original size of batting and drawing a chalk outline on the batting so I know how big to go. And I'm not trimming the blocks to size until all the blocks are done.
