Starting on the Floor Joists // 1930's Farmhouse Renovation (ep 58)

- Now that the mid-span beam is up and i've test fitted a few joists, I'm at the point where I can begin the time-consuming process of putting on the floor joists. Each one has to be individually measured, cut, notched and hung for level and plum.

What you have remember Nate is you are a one person contracting team so it's obviously going to take awhile. Plus you are obviously following all the rules and doing everything the correct way.

Nate you are doing great for a one man contractor and learning so many skills as you go along. I know it's frustrating but you have accomplished so much and it is getting closer each work day to the beautiful finished home you and Katie will have. You both will look back some day and feel proud in what the Lord has blessed you both with and all that he has let you and Katie accomplish on your homestead.
I so agree with this comment made. Nate, for as much as you have had to learn and teach yourself. I enjoy watching how you are figuring this all out. Some of the work that you had been doing I was fearful for your safety. You have conquered that safety issue. I no longer worry about those safety issues. You have this. You should be so proud of yourself and all you have accomplished so far. I have no doubts that you have the solutions to completely finish this floor joists job. You must feel it for yourself. Great job figuring all the notch depths and lengths etc. to make every strong and level. Once this floor is done, maybe the rest of it will be much faster for you. It also may be work that you can hire someone to do or get help from your friends. In order to get this floor done, don't worry about filming it for us, just show a progress report. Now that we see what it takes to get it to work correctly, we just need to see you are getting there as fast as accuracy allows. Have a Blessed day.
