The One Direction version is fun and careless, Gabrielle Aplin makes it melancholic and dreamy... The different atmospheres also change the meaning of the lyrics and I love that this cover shows this contrast :)

totally agree with you. there are so many good covers out there by true artists. when i hear one direction i see nothing special about them. however, we should take into consideration that the cover(artist)s wouldn't be so popular without the big artist behind them. no one would listen to the covers because it's not the variety people like to hear compared to the original. i hope you get what i mean, my english isn't the best ^^
