- In our second video of the series How-To Train, former World Cup skier Miha Kürner walked us through 5 drills that will help improve your GS turns to be more powerful and efficient.
1. Pole Plant Ready J-Turns
2. Thousand Steps Traverse
3. The Pac-Man
4. Lifted Inside Ski Sliding Turns
5. Pole-Plant Game
Incorporating these drills into your daily GS routine will help improve your balance and position throughout the turn.
I've been doing Step 4 not as well as yourself of course! I've recently discovered the J-Turn (for practicing skiing in Switch), time to break it down starting at Step 1 Thank you!
Great demos, Miha!🙂
Thank you ❤

Hallo. Welche Übungen würden Sie meiner 9-jährigen Tochter empfehlen, um mit dem Carving zu beginnen? Gruss aus Polen
The thousand step traverse is a better idea than the traditional thousand step turn . It is easier and therefore more easily accomplished. Thx!
is it done with both skis, or only the inside one?
Super video thank you.
What model of skis and boots? Cool color.
Before explaining the drills, it would help to describe the mechanics of a good GS turn. This helps the learner to add meaning to the drills. This is basic learning theory.
Do not lead to much with the inside (uphill ski), as is can lead to hip dump. This can interfere with the strength and biomechanics of the turn . . . especially in regards to change in turn timing and rhythm
