Countries need to take advantage of times like these.
The river or lake is dried up, fine, go in with heavy equipment and clean all the contaminated soil out.
Make the reservoirs deeper and able to hold more.

I'd say that seeing those statues is a good sign being that since they were obviously constructed above water, then they were submerged, now they're reappearing. That signifies that this is only a natural cycle that will continue to occur.

No not neccessary, not unless the depth of the rivers in those areas where heigthened unaturally by the building of the three gorges dam back in 2006. I remember when they made that dam. It had two consequences, one consequence was, that some of the places where the Yangtze river wasn´t very deep/"high". The river in some places would be made up to about 100 to 120 meters higher than natural (or more i don't recall exactly). Which meant that many historical landmarks, temples, buddha statues etc. would disappear/be flooded and eventually under water "for ever", and settlements with populated areas, where moved up higher along the mountain areas of the Yangtze river.
The other consequence was, that other areas could be provided with more water, than what those areas normally had, because they could divert some of the increased water levels (which the dam created) into areas that needed it.
Edit: Oh, i missed the part that this particulary buddha statue hasn't been visible for about 600 years. So the Three Gorges Dam probably havn't influenced this rivers water levels.

  • @TonyTony-xr7pf

    • @lillihills3454

All countries needs to work on pollution. But its important to note so many countries moved a lot of their manufacturing to China starting in the 1990s. So of course there will be more pollution in China after that and also China's 1.42B population is 4.25x that of US. But China's per capita pollution is still less than US. And the total cumulative pollution and carbon emissions still much less than US and UK where their carbon output and industrial pollution surged as early as the 1800s with the start of the Industrial Revolution.
In London, during the Victorian era, both sewage and industrial waste (slaughter houses, chemicals) spilled straight into the Thames where, by 1849, all the salmon had disappeared where it was once a thriving salmon river. The Thames still hasn't fully recovered.

Great coverage. I do have to note that YangTze is not the river’s name. The actual name is Chang Jiang or Long River. YangZhi (young son) is derived from a region at the river’s delta called YangZhou (near shanghai). It was only a term used locally for a ferry crossing in the small portion of the Changjiang River. However, Matteo Ricci in 1615 used the local ferry crossing to name the entire ChangJiang. In 1800s, more Europeans adopted his terminology and gave the ChangJiang a completely incorrect name. My last name is Jiang or River, so it always irked me why “Long River” Changjiang was butchered into YangZhi “young son”

Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America are two other regions in which the Church tends to be quite active. CCP imperialists ought to bear this in mind. This is alarming because Yangtze River is one of the biggest river in China. It never happened before. Lots of rivers around the world are drying up. Not only rivers but lakes as well. Lake Mead in Nevada used to have lots and lots of water. It generates electricity for Nevada ,California and other states close to Lake Mead. At the present time, there’s not enough water in Lake Mead. If I ‘m not mistaken , it supplies water together with the Colorado river to Las Vegas. There’s a severe drought in Las Vegas, Arizona, New Mexico , California and other states of USA. Due to lack of water , there’ll be scarcity of food supply.
Even the cows are now affected because of the heat and lack of water and feed. Rain is hard to come by and if it does,it’s not much to fill up the underground water. It rains very rare in Central California hence the table grapes are affected because of lack of water.

A book called "Opportunity in Disguise" taught me that we must learn to squeeze lemons in tragic situations. In terms of renewable energies, in periods of drought we have high availability of solar radiation. Because there is no cloud formation.
Idea: how about installing solar panels that feed pumps from artesian wells, even though these are spread across different points of the watershed? The water could be directed to the watercourses in the dry season. In the rainy season, clouds will themselves reduce the efficiency of the pumps. Or even, they can be turned off with the return of the rains.
