"I hate Bauer!"
*owns every single Bauer twig from the last 3 years* hahaha xD I do see you've finally switched pants!
I hate bauer but will admit they make amazing sticks........ but ive also smashed every pro level bauer stick.
Your best review yet. Love the honest pros and cons. I'm glad you're up for trying new and different brands.
Incredibly in-depth with really good explanations. Warrior missed out on you Trav.
The yellow Fleury RBK pads are iconic! I remember when RBK was the American versions then if they were England pads it said Reebok instead!
I ordered a custom lefevre a couple months ago and can’t wait for it to come in. Takes a long time.
Also you’ve really been killing it the last year man. Keep up the great content and chasing your dream.
Ever since I put on Bauer pads I loved them and don't plan on changing from them. I also like double T gloves just my preference. Thanks for the review and happy you like your new set up. Always enjoy watching your videos.
It's always a good day when you see trav reviewing some fresh gear, I was waiting to hear what you had to say on these
Hey, its always a good day when I post a new video..... which currently would be Tuesday and friday mornings ;)
see ya for the next video tomorrow?
Training camp starting tomorow, I can’t wait to go out there and dominate
I’m talking about my training camp bud but good luck on yours whenever it is
love the honesty in this, most people would put way less cons. great vid keep it up trav
Review is a review. Should have more cons than pros because it's a review LOL Thanks for watching, New videos every Mon, Wed, Fri 9am eastern bro, see ya for tomorrows video ;p
Great freaking video Trav! Lots of in depth analysis and feedback. Bravo and keep up the great work brother!
(Watched during my morning workout). Thanks for the detailed review!! I would love to drop some coin on this gear but need to wait a bit. Keep working hard Trav!
That's awesome! Ever since you've visited the Lefevre facility, I've been interested in their gear. I appreciate all the information given in this video. Also, the pads my not put as much stress on your lower body because there are not many straps which allows for better mobility and that fast rotation system is not fighting your legs but that's just my guess. Cheers buddy! Stay safe!
Love that you love the gear and its Canadian made! Good luck and work your ass off!
its amazing what switching glove angles can do. I switched from Ef3 600 and when i get Ef4 i got a 590 and what a difference. awesome video trav, glad you're enjoying the lefevre's. they looks sick on you 🤙
It’s great to see another great product ‘KOHO, RBK, CCM (by Lefèvre)’, turning into a Canadian made top quality product. Now everyone has access to the same equipment the pros use. Similar to how Brian’s has operated forever. Home grown, built with passion and care should be all you need to hear to make a decision about buying Lefèvre (or Brian’s) depending on your style of equipment preferences. Great video as always Trav!
Hey Trav great video as always love to see that you love to Lafave gear keep up the good work
Amazing quality video as per usual. Your video making skills have gotten so much better. Your editing and video quality is so much better than it was even 6 months ago. This is no joke broadcast quality work. Almost makes me overlook the fact your a “sellout”
hahah wait for the Merch line to drop then tell me if you think im a sellout. August 21, btw still working on more cooking videos for ya Arty
Great video again! You touched on it in the video, but I was going to comment how much more comfortable you look in this gear, you seem to be moving so much smoother and crisper.
trav4oilers I agree, can totally see it!!! It’s been awesome to watch your progress!!
Another great video and I really like the look of the new Lefevre stuff. It's killing me though as i'm an older rec goalie so this is out of my budget. Especially after getting new Warrior equipment last year (R/GT pads and G4 gloves) after watching all the great reviews by you and VOGoalie. I really respect their stance on quality and why they parted ways with CCM. Hopefully, I can still play for a while and consider Lefevre down the road. For now, I just picked up a set of Pro Laces using your promo code. Looking forward to hopefully returning to the ice soon and trying them out.
let me know how you like the pro laces man! Thanks for watching this video. new vlogs every Mon, Wed, Fri at 9am eastern. See ya fro tomorrows video ;)
@@trav4oilers I’ve using them a little over a month now and really like them. Easier to put on and remove in comparison to regular laces. The “give” they provide is great for the knees and hips. The cords could be a bit longer to make putting them on a little easier but it’s ok. It’s all good!
Great video as always trav cant wait to hear your thoughts on that Ultrasonic chesty😎
Looking good out there Travis. Yes I agree with the Lefevre custom goal. I’m a CCM guy but I have switched to the Lefevre L12.1’s and yessss 580 break all the way 😊❤️👊🏽
Love the vid Trav! I love the mom and pop businesses. I've had nothing but fantastic luck with products from small businesses. They last.
Glad to see you still like your kicks.......I was always a Brian’s homer but if I’m being honest I really started not liking their leg pads once they went to a single break. I’m old school and I like pads with knee rolls.
Hi Trav, I’ll be playing my first year Juniors this season and I was debating to get the Eflex 4 or the L12.1 but due to the price range difference I had to go with the Eflex 4. Wish this video was posted about 2 months earlier and I would have gone straight for Lefevre! Keep up the good content and from one tendy to another, hope you have a good season👍🏽
trav4oilers for sure. If they keep this up and stay ahead of the competition my next purchase for gear will be from them!
Excellent review. Yes getting gear made in North America especially this year is best. I always use the Koho , Reebok , CCM gear and yes on the glove that inner palm wear mark sucks. I do this thing where I take a swatch of the sticky backed pad skin and i place it on the spot while I wear the glove incase I go to resell it that wear hole there won't be there. Since that palm section has that rounded contour yeah it wears quickly. That's my corny little trick. Stick a square of same color pad skin on the spot. Lol. If I go to resell it I just peel that off and clean of the sticky residue.
Good Review Trav. Funny thing is I am 5'11, but I wear 35+2 pads. I have the legs of a guys who is roughly 6'4. As for the 580 catcher. Once I got my hands on a Koho 580. I was in love. If I ever order a glove, it will be a 580.
I quit goaltending years ago, but working on their customizer got me interested in their gear (was a Sherwood and then Vaughn guy). Patrick and Véronic teased me a lot during website reviews by telling me "you're gonna want to buy a set after all the time you'll have spent looking at our gear !" and they were right ! Thanks for the in dept review ! Hopefully I'll be able to set some money aside quickly to get myself a set !
@@trav4oilers Well when you have the customizer in your face for 3+ months, you can't help designing a couple of sets while coding new functionalities haha.
I would have gotten lefevre gear because I could see that they had an outstanding product and I knew that they would be showing up more in the nhl either this season or next, but where I work ccm was having a promotion for employees to get the new axis stuff for really cheap, and I figured I’d introduce myself to the idea of buying top of the line gear with a brand I was familiar with rather than a newish to the consumer market brand. They do look super sick and I feel like once I do get used to my CCM’s I just bought, I’m gonna wanna try lefevre. Thanks for your honest opinions trav
Just ordered my G5’s. Honestly miss seeing you in warriors but the lefevres are aight😂
Not gonna lie, this and the last several videos has really made me want to go from a forward to a goalie using Lefevre gear
Even tho I absolutly love the gear, the only thing that pushed me away from Lefevre is the price. I went with JRZ instead, another company from Quebec, and came up with my own personnal custom graphics. I cant wait to recieve them !
Great video Trav, as always
I've always used Vaughn, but after watching a ton of these videos as well as user feedback on the Lefevre, I might need to consider it. I have tight hips and shitty knees as well.
Nice review. I see a number of NHL goalies wearing LeFevre in the playoffs now.
I've always been with CCM, but as long as Lefevre continues to grow and stay with in Canada, then i might just make that switch. i love my CCM Lefevre gear.
Hey I switched video intro, time for you to switch gear ;)
you get the package bro?
I wish you had done this video weeks ago. Just dumped serious cash on Jr's CCM set up!
Start looking for that receipt. Hey it takes time to come up with a review, thats part of a review haah
Zachary Grago
I bought the Warrior G5 stuff and thought the Lefevre stuff was sub par, until last week, 4 consecutive 8 hour practices lead to the blocker sidewall separating from the face of the blocker. So pissed I have to wait to hear back from Warrior because it was manufactured so quickly and sent out without a care if it breaks down in literally less than a couple months. Regardless you were right and I’m going to switch the Lefevre next year I believe.
Love these videos and love that your a goalie
trav4oilers oh yeah I forgot to ask when is your hockey season possibly supposed to start
I really starting to consider to change my CCM Premier for Lefevre. Yes the graphics sucks but it is amazing gear. Handmade, Canadian made and NHL quality gear, What do you want more? Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review. Any idea when they might become available in the USA? I liked the glove and blocker info.
Nice video! So you will be playing these in Sweden? Guess you will be one of the few who even have Lefevre in Sweden!
I was really interested in the rotation strap. I have passaus with a version of the vaughn professor strap that is just about perfect IMO. I did just order a pair of pro laces as my "final" upgrade. I never got the ccm angles, but I can only catch with a 60 degree break. I also am not fast enough to catch anything ear height.
The video of you giving up the goal while stick handling had me dying 😂😂😂
Trust me, when it happened in person I thought "I am going to use this in every video for the next year"
Hey trav. I’m so pumped for the video. Last night I was on The buttends giveaway and I won! Do you know how I’m supposed to get in contact with him about choosing which grip I would like? I tried to dm him but I haven’t hear back yet. Thanks so much!!
Thanks for the review Trav ! I agree about CCM being made in China, Lefevre definitely killed it. Briefly, what would you say about the G5 gear ? Do you miss having removable palms ?
Great job on the review. Just one thing you didn't mention that I'm interested about. How is the seal and five hole coverage?
Going to Kelowna for a junior b camp this weekend , any tips or advice trav?
Good luck bro
Thanks for watching this video. new vlogs every Mon, Wed, Fri at 9am eastern. See ya fro tomorrows video ;)
Trav if you want the bungies closer to the ice you could swap the toe bridges to the opposite pad but that might be tedious
I over rotate with my ccm p2s a lot. Is there a way i can fix this? I use just regular laces? should i upgrade to smart laces?
Got a 20.1 590 glove and the pocket was all messed up. Messaged true, no response as of yet. Ended up having to re lace the pocket to be able to use it. The pocket was so tight the glove couldn’t even open fully. Really surprised it made it off the assembly line as it was visually wrong.
Hey Trav, what did you mean about the change you made on your Pro Lacesto help with the rotation? I’ve been trying to make changes to how I do my pads (older Reebok Lefevre’s) with PL’s to try and help with that
Just got the new Bauer supreme 3s combo, (intermediate) and it is def a step up from my G4’s, I didn’t like how soft the G4’s were
34's! Wow... I'm 6 foot 6... And though the mobilty would be better, not sure I would fare all that well in the 5 hole department. Great review 👍
I was liking my G3 Pro's at 36 +1. Then for my birthday my wife surprised me with custom Ritual GT 2 Pro's in retro tan... She did 36 + 3. Love the 5 hole coverage, but lost a little mobilty.
When he said I feel lose I said in my head thats what she said
Thanks for watching this video. new vlogs every Mon, Wed, Fri at 9am eastern. See ya fro tomorrows video ;)
What options did you go on the Leg Pads? I feel I’d want an Xtra Stiff pre-curved no internal or external breaks with a soft boot.
I went all stock. Thanks for watching, New videos every Mon, Wed, Fri 9am eastern bro, see ya for tomorrows video ;p
Awesome review man. Just wondering though - if you have tight hips/knees why don't you run a double break pad on your custom sets?
Double break will cause the pad to break down faster, I like stiffer longer rebounds so thats why I go with the single break. Thanks for watching Chance!
First time a review is a true review on this channel 😂
What are you talking about, last couple reviews have been dedicated reviews that only talk about the gear?
@@trav4oilers yeah but first time you have an actual list of pros and cons that is well constructed
Hey trav, nice video! Was wondering if lefevre made intermediate, and also, would you recommend the L 20.1? (I thought since you saw it in the warehouse) Thanks!
negative I dont believe they make intermediate........ YOURE WATCHING A 20.1 REVIEW.... DID YOU EVEN WATCH IT? LOL
What are your specs for pads/blocker/glove. A lot of options to custom and what previous pad did you try to emulate the most?
How is the glove holding up internally so far? I have read some reports of plastic in CCM gloves cuff/palm that is prone to cracking. I've been wondering if Lefevre uses a different plastic.
Did you try Jrz pads I have these and I love these pads and you can custom your kit as the colour of your hockey team
Hi trav. I’m 13 and I’m not a goalie expert but when I was at pure goalie I was told but the goalie expert said if it over rostered you’re bad is to small.
I agree about the graphics. Not a fan at all of a single set I've seen in the NHL... The L87 look pretty classy though.
Thanks for watching this video. new vlogs every Mon, Wed, Fri at 9am eastern. See ya fro tomorrows video ;)
I was considering getting some lefevre’s. But I’ve never gotten custom equipment before. Do you think it’s worth spending the extra grand of gloves or just buying stock gloves from the store for 1/4 of the price?
You get what you pay for man. Keeping in mind I am playing a higher level an want the best. Depends who you ask.
I always wondered how these pads are cuz I've noticed a lot of NHL goalies are getting them now
I'm honestly want to try it out but I just got a pair of ccm eflex pads blocker and glove but i will look into it next time I'm looking into a pad
Would you recomend sticking with the Brian's optik 9.0 or going to true 20.1.
Simple techniques done impeccably well... now where could we apply that principle?
Why the change to a 34+2? is your knee landing on the same place on the block as your 36 inch at the knee pads?
I'll take a set 👍🏻😂 Still waiting to try a demo set of Ultrasonics, the shop is waiting still for the glove as Bauer has been having shipping issues getting stuff here apparently..
Gotta ask about 7:06 .. Can't even see in your cage, are you actually in there? 😂
I’m in there, it’s a test to see what glove truly caught more pucks. It’s in Friday’s video
@@trav4oilers Can't wait till Friday! Been waiting for the 580/590/600 video
I saw when you were sliding you were sliding with your toes of your blade but I get told to slide with all of your blade so you get more power.
I wanna get some bad but I just got a custom set of Brian’s optik pads and Vaughn slr 2 glove and blocker
im loving my new ultra sonics woulda went with these but not in stores
How much was your set in canadien dollars? (If your willing to share) and are you happy with Winnipeg pulling out the dub to tie the series 1-1?
You can send your glove into Dennis from factory mad and he would do most of the stuff you wanted to do for the glove
Fo the price, I'm out. 250USD to make it a floating tee is way too much. I'll complain for free instead lol
Is there any low cost version? I probably can't afford an NHL model . Also probably don't need it for pickup / beer league.
A few years ago I was "Joe Schmoe who just picked up goal tending". Never been a gear-head -- so when I went to get gear I did zero research and just went to a few stores and tried stuff on. I wound up getting an RBK 6K glove and an RBK 7K blocker based solely on feel alone. It wasn't until you were holding your trapper up to your head in this video -- snapping it shut talking about catching stuff by your ear -- that something clicked in my old-man brain. With heart aflutter -- I raced to the closet -- pulled out the blocker and trapper and realized they were both made by Lefevre (albeit in China, shut up). Holding them high above my head -- like Simba in The Lion King -- I laughed the maniacal laugh of a man who charge blindly into something he didn't understand or even know anything about -- and was kinda right.
Im trying to wrap my head around ccm/lefevre/true. I get the deal terminated between lefevre and ccm last year and ccm makes them independently now. (Wont be buying ccm pads, blocker or glove again). And true purchased levevre. So i'm assuming true pads now say powered by levevre on them and are made by levevre just to be marketed and distributed by true. Why are they making pads under their own name levevre now, and not just only partnering with true? Unless im wrong and levevre have been also making pads with only their name on them in the past.
All marketing, todays true is the old CCM in a nutshell. Thanks for watching Evan. hope you enjoy the video shared on Monday too :)
Get m to make a retro set like patricks old Canadiens gear. That whiteish leather look.
I'm excited to share my review of the Lefevre 20.1 line. I fell in love with Lefevre when I got to tour the factory but in this video I tell you every issue I've had with the gear since. If you want to know more about 580 vs 590 vs 600 catch angles, the next video (August 8) will be dedicated to exactly that! See you then :)
