The scariest thing is his simplicity. So many people think that you need to do some crazy moves to lose a defender, but it's really as simple as changing direction/speed, going against their movement, or messing with their anticipation. As soon as you catch them off balance or notice their confidence faltering, you have the advantage, and he uses that to break away. Another thing he does is just keep the ball away and waits for the defenders to naturally open up a route either for a breakaway or pass.

As a neutral I have to say that Messi is the best I`ve ever seen and I seriously doubt there will ever be anyone like him. Cristiano is amazing and he has achieved so much but there`s something about Messi that`s inexplainable. The way Messi is always in complete control and what is able to do with the ball is just out of this world. I honestly believe if Messi was concerned with his numbers only he would have had unreachable numbers. He plays for the team that`s why he`s the best.
His vision of the game is what sets him apart, not the magical left foot.

And that's not even getting into the discussion of best player. I think for most people their team/club/country will only sway their opinion (whatever it is) a bit. I mean, he managed to get *Brazilians* to root for *Argentina*.

Messi is just an Allrounder. He is the most complete player. A playmaker and goal scorer. If the team struggles to get the ball to the enemy goal, Messi can do it. He is a perfect passer and has vision of the whole field. This is why he is the best player in the history of football. Ronaldo is also a good goal scorer. But as I mentioned above, Ronaldo is not and Allrounder.
