@@elizabethgeorge168 Don't bother, he's another one of these self-righteous morons who thinks they're better than everyone else because they've never left their bedroom.
These videos only ever get whatever general information is entered at the time, usually right after court. Anyone who has ever had a DUI or knows someone who has could tell you that no, you don't ever get off with "just taking a class". If there's any probation, these videos never have the terms of that probation listed (I've seen maybe 3 out of 50 or 60 that have). DUIs are expensive- at the very least, you're getting fines or court fees of 1k or more. If your on probation, that may also cost you. Also, any special conditions- like if you agree to alcohol monitoring, you have to pay for that, if your license is suspended even for just a month you have to pay to get it back, any drug/alcohol testing you have to pay for, etc. You're usually not getting away from a DUI, even a first DUI, for less than 2-3k. Which is honestly the worst part for many. Because if they're on probation and all fines & fees aren't paid by the end of that period then if they have any suspended punishment, they end up having to do it anyway. "Suspended" sentences are contingent upon the person completing whatever list of things has been laid out. Usually including the alcohol class (which they also have to pay for and it's several weeks). There's almost never jail time for first offenses, which tends to work because the rate of people who get repeat DUIs is generally under 30%, meaning whatever punishment they go through the first time works for the majority of people. First offenses carry a bunch of things you have to do before a set time and while I see plenty of people b******g about how "easy" it is or how they "got off", those same people would feel plenty punished if they had to suddenly come up with an extre 2-3k, if they lost their license for 6-12 months (many states have this set to automatic if you refuse to do the breathalyzer test), had to wear an alcohol monitor or show up within 30 minutes of random phone calls to be tested plus show up for scheduled meetings at probation every week, attend X amount of weeks/meeting of AA, etc.
